I'm so torn because as soon as I saw the glam for the regular 10th doctor I knew I was going to get him because that's my favortive costume for him but I L O V E the 3D 10 and I hate having more than one Pop of the same character with the same mold
Annnnd I'm suppose to be a Pop ban until after my August birthday but I guess I'm breaking that rule!!

If the Pops Doctor Who variants follow the Titans Merchandise mini vinyl Doctor Who variants (and Hot Topic looks to be doing just that: 11th w/fex and 10th w/3d glasses are also two HT mini vinyl figure variants), then we are in for a TON of doctor variants.

Which is just fine with me.

So one question from a noob. I was going to start my collection with the super deluxe vinyls but with the announcement of Doctor Who it looks like I'm going to enter into the realm of Pop! As far as the Hot Topic exclusives, do you have the ability to pre order them at the store?

Depends on the store, I am finding. Also, you can pre-order them online at Hot Topics.com. I was able to get the exclusives from Supernatural before they even got to my local stores. And, the Hot Topics are currently gearing up for another Hot Cash spending spree starting July 9th.

U can order "some" exclusives online, but it's not till they are available to ship. I haven't seen any actual pop pre-orders on hot topic.com

Ahh, the Hot Topics Hot Cash- a splendid marketing tool designed to make you feel good about spending waaaayyyy too much money on Pops!

To answer your first question- no, we are not able to pre-order online, but if you have a Hot Topic nearby, you can get to know the staff and they can clue you in as to when the Pops are to be shipped and possibly will give you a break and hold some exclusives in reserve for you. (FYI, they CAN and DO get in trouble for this, so please don't assume and be grateful if they are nice about this!)

Online is the best way to get the Pops if you don't want to mall shop; just watch the forums and as soon as one member gets a HT Doctor Who, rest assure he/she will post it to alert the others to the hunt, and usually how he/she got it, via online or retail. Then you can plan appropriately.

And last, Hot Cash is a coupon you get for spending $30 or more in the stores right now; it entitles you to $15 off during their redemption week and you can redeem more than one coupon at a time. They will also alert you as to when you can redeem them.

True story..Ecclestone lost the role because he had his own idea's on the way the role should go, but they did not match with the BBC liberal/lefty/communist ideology (I am allowed to say this because i am british and am forced to pay a licencse fee to a corporation who's ideology is against most of my beliefs [they are not terrorists they are revolutionary freedom fighters]...but i still like Doctor Who and Match of the Day)

In regards to HotTopic... Generally also hot topic has pretty good sales (20% off all stock online, BOGO half off in store)... but in my experience all the sale end during the hot cash redemption so i dont think i got much better deals using my hotcash than i did using coupons people post on top of the constant in store sales...

I have personal rule of only one or two characters per franchise to ensure my collection is eclectic. I was torn which Doctor I was going to get.....until now.

I try to stick to that too but I have a feeling that's not going to work out for me on this one...

He's forgotten because all of the preceding and proceeding Doctors were considerably sillier. He was much darker, obviously because of the Time War and what the Other Doctor done. Either way, the contrast between him and other Doctors is often too much for people, and so he isn't the first Doctor that people think of. I kind of fall for this too, because he was my first Doctor, but I still first think of the Tenth Doctor
