Any of my anti-social brothas and sistas horribly embarrass themselves while pop collecting?

Here's my pop cringe:

I was picking up an online order at my favorite HT (strike number 1) and there was some creepy bros grabbing all the HT exclusives for obvious resale and trade. So I got my box from an online order and was opening it up to make sure everything was there, and the flippers were checking out with their grabs. So the friendly girl behind the counter was trying to sell more with "we have buy 2 get 1 right now, so you guys should get some more" kinda thing. So I'm thinking "well she knows she's selling BS, they know they're savvy flippers, whatevs." And I slide in with a "Well, yeah, but at buy 2 get 1 at 12.50 after tax it's basically $2 off MSRP which is really kinda no deal at all." So the HT girl gave me the death stare for F'ing with her sales (even though I knew those guys were cutthroat flippers by the way they were talking to each other at the display) and I sadly walked out with my mint packaged online order, feeling like a butt. I really can't look back and understand why I needed to blurt out my antagonistic comment.

I now use a different store for my online order pick-ups.

I can't think of any cringe worthy stories right now but yours was pretty funny. I blurt out stuff that didn't need to be said a lot and find myself walking away mumbling to myself, "I carried a watermelon?" (That's a Dirty Dancing reference in case you missed it.)

To be honest, you had every right to say that xD. They're being flippers, which nobody appreciates and she was trying to get extra sales by giving a false deal. I'd say you were more of a protagonist there xD

Not to poop on anyones parade here, but my son has Autism, so this comment kinda stings...

Anyway, the Hot Topic has a limit of 3 on how many exclusives you can buy, and while we were at the outlet store this weekend we saw a girl outside trying to pay people to buy Elvis Stitch pops for her as she had already bought her max amount. I told the employee inside and they kinda just shrugged it off and says she does it all the time and they can't stop her. I'm just glad we were able to get one of the pops for ourselves before she got them all.

But buy 2 get 1 free with tax here comes to around $27 .. vs the $40 it normally cost that is a $13 difference. Pretty good deal IMO.. oh plus i get a military discount which takes $0.83 off each POP.. Woot

So factor that in and its like $24 out the door for 3.. WIN

When the Walgreens pops were first hitting the market, none of the stores around here had them, or really even knew they carried the pops to begin with. After weeks of searching we finally got a store that said they had gotten them in, so we drove an hour to the store that was holding us a set in the back. when we got there, the guy went to the back, and when coming back out trips, and falls on his face, holding the pops under him... needless to say, they did not fair well. My girlfriend said that I turned white...

Asking an employee at a retailer a Funko related question like 'when are more Mystery Minis being restocked' and being stared at like I grew a third eye. And then the employee having to ask a supervisor and then a manager what a Mystery Mini or Pop was in the first place. And the answer after waiting for 15 minutes was 'don't know, check back'. Needless to say I don't bother checking in that particular retailer anymore.

Geeze what ever happened.. Sounds terrible. I try to stay of social media and sites like reddit, simply for the fact that if you're not the one being exploited, someone else is. Just gonna throw it out there that you can pm me if you ever want to talk without any judgment

I cringe when I call places to have holds for me cause I stutter every once in a while and I have to repeat myself, happened two weeks ago when I called Hot Topic.
