Most valuable pop in your collection

Postby Oceanavekid » Tue Apr 28, 2015 11:44 am

Right now it's my SDCC Metallic Red Hulk valued at $95
Paid $60 for him, box got a little beat up so I filed a claim with USPS and was able to get $50 back, so I really only paid $10 for him

Right now I'm in a 2 way tie between Legolas (Blue Eyes) and Unmasked Wolverine. Both at $75

Typically it is Gandalf w/ Hat at usually around $85 but he seems to have dropped down as of late for some reason.

Probably my 1/96 Freddy Stark, both from a monetary and sentimental standpoint. Got him last year and apparently just in time because I paid nowhere near what people are asking for him now.

I think the Pop I have that is valued the highest is Ecto-1 with Egon. Personally, I am very fond of my Holographic Darth Vader.

Secondsies...it was a mission trying to find him for a somewhat reasonable price, even then it took a bit of saving. But when I got him, I was one happy camper.

The dancing Groot my 9yo saved money to buy so we could put on the dashboard. It's worth far more to me than any limited edition price-inflated exclusive nonsense.

I understand that. I saved to buy my Arrow and even sold a regular one to buy that one. And I bought it simply because I love it. Not going to sell it (and I have had offers). I will part with most of my collection if I had to but not a select few. It just so happened that it went up in value recently. Even though it has, still not parting with it.

I'd argue my two most valuable finds would be Two-Face (and, to a lesser extent, Zombie Merle).

Image

The reasoning behind this is that I found Two-Face around three years ago, back when he was still impossible to find but hadn't yet been rereleased by Popcultcha. He was discovered in a tiny little hole-in-the-wall toy shop on Mackinac Island, and had I known how valuable/rare he was at the time, I would've a.) grabbed more, and b.) kept them all in their boxes. Alas, I was but a newbie collector at the time, and being able to own one of my favorite villains in Pop form greatly outweighed its secondhand value.

Zombie Merle I believe I stumbled upon at Hot Topic back when he was first released. I remember also buying a Zombie Jake with him, but sold Jake for a fraction of what he could've been sold for today.

As you can see, I was once very bad at this.

Wait are we talking about value based on current estimated worth in the secondary market or which one we deem as most valuable in our collection based on current emotional attachment.?

Because if its the latter than for me that is my Rocky Balboa ... #1 always forever, near and far
