Should We Expect Fantastic 4 Pops?
With the new Fantastic 4 trailer just dropped, (which you should go watch if you haven't seen it) I thought it was fitting to ask if we would be getting Pops for this movie. Since this movie is made by Fox, and we don't have any X-Men movie based Pops, I'm assuming we won't see any Pops from this movie, which is a shame because I think they could do so much with these characters, like a Mr Fantastic with stretched out arms, and a Johnny Storm on fire that could have the same effect as frozen Anna. What do you think about these characters in Pop form, and do you think they are likely to be made into Pops?

Re: Should We Expect Fantastic 4 Pops?
if they made comic book versions that look the proper age I would get them, but no way in hell am I getting the fantastic 4 babies, personally I thought that trailer looked horrible. Also there is now way we get figures for the movie Marvel still maintains toy licensing rights and Marvel wanted Fantastic 4 back REALLY BADLY, Fox almost lost the rights to FF and this movie reeks of desperation on their end just to keep the rights. Therefore I highly doubt we will ever see the Fox movies getting figures

Re: Should We Expect Fantastic 4 Pops?
It is a shame that Fox are just making this movie to keep the rights of the characters, where Marvel could actually take them somewhere. I do hope we see the comic versions, since that seems much more likely. I really do want to see those movie versions, because I just really like the look of their costumes, whether they're the final costumes or not

Are Fox just entirely against merchandising?

not, they just don't have ay control, that lies with Marvel proper, and since Marvel knows that merchandising is a way of cross-promoting the movie, and they want the characters to lapse back in to their control, they won't ok anything

I would definitely buy them if they were the comic book versions but I think I would pass on anything different....

Probably, funko has been making movie based super hero pops ... look at all the AOU pops. And all the TV shows are getting pops (even tho there DC).

Re: Should We Expect Fantastic 4 Pops?
I'm pretty sure there's no way we'd get the movie versions as Marvel is not doing any toys for the Fox movies, and I doubt we will get the comic versions now that Marvel has stopped the comics.

Re: Should We Expect Fantastic 4 Pops?
Thank God no. The movie looks like utter garbage. I am hoping it fails miserably so Marvel can get it back. I did also hear that Marvel is doing absolutely nothing to promote. No toys, food promotions. AoU getting POPs is because Marvel is doing that film. Funko cannot get toy rights from Fox but instead have to go to Marvel. You will NEVER see POPs based on the movie as Marve will not do anything to legitimize it. Fox is apparently not happy with either as they fired the director after he turned it in.

I'm not the only one who sees a correlation between them killing Deadpool and the movie coming out (also from Fox) next year, am I?
I half-hoped we'd see a much more detailed Deadpool Pop figure made after the movie but this thread makes me see just how unlikely that is.

I hope not. I also hope the movie bombs, so that Disney/Marvel gets the cinematic rights back and adds them to phase 4.

As much as I would like more comic-style FF to join Thing, clear Pops would look strange with the bobble head springs..

I don't think so, the entire Marvel Universe is 'dying' for awhile, I think it's just an opportunity to promote Deadpool's death and sell a few extra books before the end of Secret Wars brings a lot of people back, like Wolverine.

While I want to see Disney/Marvel get all the cinematic rights back from Fox (and Sony)... I can't say that I want to see the Deadpool movie bomb. I read the screenplay and it was pretty freakin' good... though they threw me a curveball by adding Negasonic Teenage Warhead so I wouldn't be totally shocked if they ruined it in current drafts

I wouldn't hate the pops if the movie is good. As far as comic forms, don't they have some of the characters in pop form?

Re: Should We Expect Fantastic 4 Pops?
Definite no to movie FF Pops and probably no to comic FF Pops. Recently Marvel/Disney is really going out of their way to not promote any of the non-MCU properties and that includes pretty much all merchandising, even if it's based on the comics and not the movies. Marvel is even going as far as ending the Fantastic Four comic after a 60+ year run. Anything they can do to not bring attention to the movies they don't have the full rights to. And if Marvel/Disney is playing the long game, they are probably hoping that those films flop enough times that Fox finally gives up their claim to the rights and it all reverts back to Marvel. Sounds a little petty maybe, but hey, that's business.
I think the only reason we've seen any merchandise with Wolverine and Spider-Man (before Sony and Marvel Studios made their Spidey-share deal) was because those characters are so popular that Marvel makes enough money off them through merchandising to not care too much that they don't own the film rights. As much as I personally love the Fantastic Four, they aren't popular enough or big enough of a cash cow, merchandise-wise, for Marvel to take that hit in promoting a non-MCU film. Which stinks because I'd really love a full line of comic based Fantastic Four Pops. I mean, Ben and Dr. Doom must be pretty lonely!
But then again, Marvel seems to have put a hold on most X-Men merchandise recently but we did get an X-Men Pop wave, just not around the time of an X-Men movie release. So maybe we'll finally get a FF wave someday, fingers crossed. But no, we'll never ever get a FF movie wave.

Not a chance and judging by the crappiness of the movie, I'd say even less than zero!
