Pop stands?

So I've noticed some of the newer Pops are now coming with those nice little clear stands that keep them from toppling off of the shelves to their demise...but I was just wondering if anyone has had any luck with any type of action figure stands for the ones that are older/don't come with a stand?

I'm currently using museum putty to hold down my troublesome figures, but with as often as our display gets moved around I was hoping to find some type of stands to use with some of the figures.

And no, I don't have any issues with drilling tiny holes into the bottoms of the Pops to make them stay on the stand. After all, I'm buying these for me and not to sell.

I've never not been able to fix one that can't stand with boiling water. No need for anything else.

Is the general idea behind that to just heat it up and bend it a little so it stands better? I have a heat gun I use for customs maybe I will try that on a few...Big Bang Theory Amy is the worst offender, she just will not stand no matter what anymore.

I already need the putty, and in my room, I use it on almost all figures, because they fall with the slightest of the room moving or rubbing against a shelf. So I see myself using the putty even on the ones supported by the discs.

I drilled a small hole in the bottom of the foot on my custom Katniss so she would sit on the stand like the ones that come with them and you can't tell it wasn't always there. Not at all opposed to doing the same with some of my regular pieces.

I should mention that the stand I used for Katniss was an extra lying around from some other Pop I ripped apart...

I found some on ebay that look more like the actual Pop stands than that first link, the little pegs aren't as close to the edge.

I'll let you know if they work once I decide to pull the trigger on buying.

Have you tried doll stands? I was thinking about trying them myself for a custom top-heavy pop in progress.

I have to repair my pulp Fiction Bride, the stand's peg broke off in her foot.
I have some stands lying around from Star Wars action figure that fit perfectly.

Here's a picture of the bottom of the foot, I just used my regular cordless drill with a 1/8 inch drill bit. I drilled it out a little at a time and nice and slow - just kept checking until I got the size and depth right.

I think as long as you stay close to the back of the foot where the leg attaches and it's thicker it should be good.
