Batman 1966 Series 2 pop? Please

Postby Carnagepop » Thu Jan 01, 2015 2:00 am

I feel like they should make a second series of the 1966 Batman pops and have Riddler and penguin. Maybe surfer batman. Mostly i would love a penguin and riddler.

this idea is both exciting and depressing. New pieces would be awesome but then I'd need to keep my proto collection complete some how :(
Looking for Batman & Harley Quinn protos

The 1966 line up should happen again. I feel like they should re do catwonan the glitter is just so unnecessary.

I agree with that. How about Mr freeze?

Here is the question. Which riddler, frank gorshen or john astin Which mr. Freeze?
Mr. Freeze was played by George Sanders in the first two-part appearance, Otto Preminger in the second two-part appearance, and Eli Wallach in the third two-part appearance.

Given that most of the Batman 66 collection has been modeled off Frank's Riddler, I would say that would be the version to go with. Would love an Eartha Kitt Catwoman though.

Batgirl and Riddler are two we really need. I'm not a fan of the '66 line but I'd def pick these two up if they ever happened.

I'd definitely buy more of those characters! I'd love to see Frank's Riddler, Otto's Freeze, Batgirl, and Eartha's Catwoman. Egghead, Bookworm, and Mad Hatter would look cool (although they'd probably be a little too obscure to be made :P ).

Funny, I was just talking about these on here the other day... Yes, we NEED this line to continue. Frank Gorshin's Riddler DEFINED the character and was the most popular villain on the show! (He was even nominated for an Emmy for his performance!) When most people talk about Batman '66, after they sing the theme song and do the Batusi, they talk about two things: Frank Gorshin's Riddler and Burgess Meredith's Penguin. To not have those two in the line up is just unthinkable. They HAVE to happen. Then, we'd have Batman & Robin and the Big Four: Joker, Catwoman, Riddler and Penguin. The rest would just be bonuses.

Frank Gorshin Riddler in Spandex
Frank Gorshin Riddler in Green Question-Mark Suit and Black Bowler Hat
Burgess Meredith Penguin
Vincent Price Egghead
Victor Buono King Tut
David Wayne Mad Hatter
John Astin Riddler
Eartha Kitt Catwoman
Otto Preminger Mr. Freeze
Eli Wallach Mr. Freeze
Yvonne Craig Batgirl.

I don't think they'd be able to do Alfred (I think Alan Napier's estate hasn't granted DC the rights to use his likeness even for the Batman '66 comic, if I'm not mistaken.) But, Figures Toy Co. is doing Mego-style dolls of Otto Preminger, Vincent Price and David Wayne's characters. And they've all ready DONE Cesar Romero, Frank Gorshin and Burgess Meredith, and Mattel has done Batman & Robin and the Big Four, so, those are all possible. I don't think George Sanders Mr. Freeze would lend himself well to merchandise. He wasn't as 'cool' visually as Preminger or Wallach were.
