Sci-Fi Minis

Great things come in mysterious miniature or pint sized packages, but which great thing will it be? It's all a mystery until you open one. Then the fun begins.

Sci-Fi Minis

Postby Squird » Tue Mar 25, 2014 3:42 pm

Browsing through the 2014 catalog and am completely sold on the Sci-Fi Minis.

Wondering about the two 'mystery' figures that are blacked out. Any guesses/or knowledge of who they are?

Image

Here's mine.

Maybe NEO, but here's why I picked 'Matrix'.

Bring it!

I think they look awesome as well, love the E.T. and Robocop

I think the two blacked out are The Terminator and Planet of the Apes (Someone from that movie)

It's Neo and the bottom pic u put up.
The reason is blacked out cause of copyrights.
If license is passed they will be in that set.
I asked at toy fair :)

I figured between everyone who went that someone would have asked. lol

An old school Cylon would be very, very cool. If Neo gets nixed, make it a gold and sliver Cylon set.

Very excited for these.

This will be my #2 favorite set of Mystery Minis! #1 is Horror Classics. With the exception of the Marvels, which have had a ton of issues with breakage, the minis are getting better and better with their quality and detail. I am obsessed with them...even lines that I normally wouldn't be interested in I find myself anxiously awaiting their release dates. I cannot wait for this release...supposedly slated for late summer or early autumn.

They still can be 1/144 haha

One's missing in the set.
Usually sets have 16 pieces.

Hope it's an Agent or Godzilla =)

15 did seem to be an odd number. They have until the end of the summer to figure it out.

Godzilla would be pretty epic.

I mentioned in another thread weeks ago that the one on the left is the classic Battlestar Galactica Cylon. You can tell by the shape of it's head.If it isn't,I would be totally surprised. If it is,now we need a nice shiny Metallic Cylon Pop.The ones I really want are E.T.,Tron,Robocop,Predator,Cylon,Judge Dredd,Alien,Mars Attack Martian, maybe Spock, and if the other mystery one is Neo,then yes to him.

I have a question though,at the top row,the blue insect looking thing with blood, what is that from?

I've been hoping to see a Predator and Xenomorph appear in another Horror Mystery Minis set. Seeing these, I need all the top row for my horror display anyway, so I'm all in for the rest after all. I really hope the Metaluna Mutant here means the others will appear in either another Horror set, or some sort of Monsters set. I'd love to see a Mini Sasquatch or Jersey Devil to go with Dracula and such.

If you haven't seen This Island Earth...you should! He's the Metaluna Mutant from that movie.

I think that's referring to the case packout. We get 24 per case as the norm on the larger releases.

When I talked to ven butcher.
He told me they try get a Godzilla pop line...
But couldn't cause jakks, bandai, diamond, and sh monster arts took them.
So I suggested minis.
He will ask Brian.
So hopefully Godzilla gets the spot
Or expect classic Godzilla mini series

I thought the other blacked out figure would've been a Planet of the Apes one also but a Cylon is fine by me.
Godzilla would be epic though!
But I do wonder if there will be other characters added. I hope so!

Usually all lines with 24 case layouts have 16 characters in a set.
Then the usual 3 ht exclusive

Yeah glow seems to be the new trend in minis.

Maybe glow mutant and alien.

I actually hope ht doesn't get exclusive. Lol

I hate having to worry about getting the HT version and the regular version... Plus HT is overpriced but they usually have a BOGO sale going on.

Could be Neo and the Cylon got axed, but I’m trying to think of who the third one could be.

They’ve done Predator, Alien, the Martian, Dredd, Spock, Robby, B-9, and Robocop already…so that would leave the Metaluna Mutant, E.T., and Flynn on the cutting room floor.

I wonder if it’s Flynn. Back during the 12 Days of Christmas reveals it was stated they were doing POP figures for Tron, but then pics were never shown at Toy Fair.

Hmmm…we need a Sherlock on the case.

If so, that stinks. Tron and E.T. were my 2 main reasons for buying this line.
