New Loki

EDIT: FALSE! No new Loki. Confirmed by Funko.

So people have a rumor going around about a new Loki with the Avengers. This is TRUE per facebook. I asked a couple days ago, per Carol, and this was the conversation.

Me: Why does it seem Thor is more common than Loki? If they were both released around the Thor movie, shouldn't their production numbers be the same?

Tim W: Ive always assumed production njumbers are based on popularity. Thats why there are a billion batmans, everyone loves batman. More people know who Thor is rather than Loki.

Funko: Great Question! And Tim, Great Answer! Thor and Loki were popular for a short period of time, right around the movie release date. We released a very small number of Loki's, because of this. There awere a few more Thor POP's made, but not many. I can tell you that you will most likely have an opportunity to pick these up again real soon!

Tim W: as part of the avengeers? or are the thor versions coming back out to help deflate the pricing on ebay?

Funko: Avengers!! New packaging and different sculpt.

Tim W: so my original Loki will still be nice and rare =)

Funko: rare and al dente.

Me: So when is this new avenger pop being released? Are there any others? Glad there will be a Loki in some way next to my lonely Thor.

THAT'S GREAT...in a way. I like the Loki and Thor with their helmets from the Thor series. I mean really, Loki's helmet rocks. So if they are coming out with an Avengers Loki without his helmet then I'm not going to like it as much. Yeah, I'll buy it but grudgingly. :razz:

Thanks for the update. I really think that a lot of people who aren't completists will just go for the newer Loki and prices of the original will probably come back down closer to reality.

Also... if the Thor/Loki ratio isn't too far off... why is it that I have seen about 15-20 Thors in the wild and never a single Loki?

I am happy about this because I actually like Loki, hopefully they make him much different like they did with Thor Marvel and Avengers.

I would guess the Thor to Loki ratio was 3-1 or so. Also good to here another one is coming, though i still want the first version, a new one would definetly be welcome.

I'll be getting the new one but if prices start coming back down, I may consider getting the original. And by back down, I mean around 30ish.

Seems as so. I do hope I get my shipment by this weekend. Ordered the wobblers and the pops. Super excited. Just have to find some place to put them.

I think it's too early to fully reveal "the enemy" I don't think there has been any toys or anything of them yet. So it's possible they have Pops of them too and Loki may ship with them. I still we get a black widow pop! also.

Yeah if we can end up with a line-up of Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, Loki, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and another villain... that would be an intense set that many people (myself included) would love to have!
