It don't mean a thing if it ain't got a spring. Come inside and chat about Funko Wacky Wobblers (bobble heads, for the less sophisticated).

Love it!! Reminds me of what the "Hippie Boop" I was promised in the old fiasco probably looked like. Thanks for posting the pic, Craig, and to Jim for fixing it for him!!

I will say however that is the coolest Betty Boop they have ever done! I got rid of my all my Betty's (and I had all of them) a while back and only kept a few that I truly liked. I think I will have to buy this one! This is how girls dressed when I went to school. One of my best friends had the smiley-faced purse and she LOVED it.

Truly awesome Funko!!

Not to be a hater, but I've never really understood the appeal of Boop. I don't want to go down as anti-Boop or anything, but it's just lost on me. I mean, those are some old cartoons.

You'd be surprised at the amount of love for Betty. Personally, I'm a fan of her dog Bimbo, and the amazing work he's done inspiring a certain class of women to debase themselves. When I worked in the animation gallery there were a lot of Boop fans. Like you, I never got the appeal either.

Of course, I constantly have to explain my collection predilections to my wife so I guess the old saying 'To each their own' applies.

   The Anti-Boop has risen!

She may be a character from an old cartoon series...but those were great old cartoons from an innovative studio that changed animation. This was the same group that also brought Popeye to us (you're not the Anti-Popeye too, are you?).

Many of her cartoons were some of the earliest "music videos", too, with the notables such as Cab Calloway and Louis Armstrong. Her cartoons were also on the racier side, particularly early on...plus she was a cartoon sex symbol, with her gartered leg, short dress, large...um, assets, and dialogue that could be taken more than one way. That was part of the fun, too...she could be racy or innocent, but regardless, she could be enjoyed on multiple levels by all sorts of people, rich or poor, man or woman, young or old. I don't think that there is a modern equivalent , though some might say that she was the Jessica Rabbit of her day (and long after). And as much as I love Mrs. Rabbit, there was much more to Betty Boop.

Still, as Squird said, to each their own. :sunny:

As I said, kind sir, I meant no disrespect. I recognize her importance in animation, I am just surprised at the amount of merchandise I see for her. I mean, where's the wealth of Krazy Kat merchandise?

Of course, he doesn't have krazy garters or krazy tatas, so perhaps you're onto something there!

Love Popeye, too! I had a really swell golden age Dell comic ( a Four Color, I think) with Popeye and his family when I was a lad. I really loved the Jeep, too. If that counts for anything!

I think it was definitely the lack of krazy tatas that did the kat in.

On the other hand, however, Ms Boop's tatas could well have sent several of her children through grad school. Gotta love the Boopster ;-)

Just teasing you, Aratak - couldn't resist 8-[

I'm not a huge Boop fan. Out of the hundreds of protos that I have, only one is a Boop (thanks to Trailer Trash Jim). \:D/

And I have less than a dozen of her wobblers. But this 70's gal will be a must have for me now.
