Thoughts on zero new Droppps

Postby StarWarsFunkoGirl » Wed Apr 30, 2025 11:25 am

This is not a complaint just me wondering what is going on. We haven't gotten any new Droppp announcements, or no updates on shipping. We are just hearing about Arcade (competitions for burning Commons).

Is Droppp on a pause to regroup or trying to figure out how to manage the new normal with tariffs. I would be super bummed if Droppp is ending

I think they are just trying to catch up. I know they posted that the last two drops that were pending shipment had damage issues. I personally enjoy the time to catch up on pieces I still need to buy lol. They can take as much time as they need ! I love drop I truly hope they keep going !!!

I was wondering about droppp too. The digital packs are so cool to open with the animation. Also the excitement of pulling a numbered funko for redemption.

I’m thinking they might be concentrating on the Fan Rewards drops, to then come back to Drop, meanwhile, while that is going we get the arcade

I wondered the same thing, just the single April fool's drop in the last month. I am a fan of the NFT drops so hopefully we get some info soon.

Wonder if they’re trying to catch up on previous orders and with the tariffs coming out, doesn’t help to much. Also Funko fan rewards and SDCC coming they tend to slow down a bit around that time.

Hopefully we will hear announcement though about everything :)

Could be multiple things, they are probably p*** their entire year of drops was leaked, also tariffs do not help. Hopefully Friday we get an annoucement.

I wonder if it has to do with the increased cost due to tariffs as well

Was thinking this too.. just trying to sort things out. The calm has been nice for wallets but a bit odd

It’s strange there hasn’t been any announcements, when they weee doing them pretty much bi-weekly at one point.

As others have noted, I also appreciate this pause; it will help my budget. If this time is being used to thoughtfully address current and future challenges, such as tariff pricing, then it is beneficial

I don't know but it's odd that it's been crickets for a while now. I'm hoping it's just that focus is elsewhere and not an outright cancellation of it. Big fan of the NFT process and I'd hate to see it stop.

They announced the Funkoween pops had to be reordered due to damage. Most of their announcements are on discord.

I figure it's just a break / slow down for a while. I'm guessing this is one of Funko's most profitable lines. They get revenue from every drop and then every trade/sell. All for just a little $$$ going to Droppp and the small cost of producing the pops and shipping them.

Very true. But isn't that how that always happens. Someone brings something up, and then poof, it's there.

To be honest, I’m glad it’s slowed down a bit - my wallet is happy. But with fewer drops, it’s less likely there’ll be one that I’m interested in.

A lot of what is going on has to do with real world problems with tariffs. Since Funko is US based, they are making moves when it comes to gathering inventory. Droppp recent announcement of delaying Halloween redeemable just before the massive changes in imports suggest issues. Hopefully the cease fire coming up might improve the situation.

Except the "cease fire" isn't a full cease fire. There are still increased costs because of the tariffs... Raising prices from $10 to $24.50, just to lower them back to $13.00 isn't a cease fire...

Same, I'd like them to focus on quality, not quantity with their releases and hopefully have more top tier franchises in future releases.
