I didn't spend as much on Funko during the holidays as I thought I might!

Same here. Aside from a couple of pre-orders, I've slowed down A LOT

I just stick to a few lines and even then I feel like it's a bit underwhelming nowadays compared to before.

This may have already been suggested, but I miss the Funko Photo-A-Day Challenge and giveaways, at least the way it was before 2023. The challenges happened way more consistently throughout the year, and in general I felt there was more connection between Funatics and the social media team. And it was super fun seeing everyone show off their collection so creatively. The chance to win prizes like a Social Media Freddy/Proto or even a shoutout from Funko themselves was very exciting too. I have noticed their social media team comments and replies more on their posts nowadays, but it doesn’t feel the same for me :/

I also agree with others who have mentioned wanting Funko to make more limited edition/limited piece Pops as well as more new characters rather than repaints/resculpts/variations of characters they’ve made many times.

You've got a point there. It did feel more interactive on the social media front. Now that I think of it, the funatic of the month thing stopped too?

I would love to see some super limited POP's.
I would love to see some more all glow POP's
I hope they go back to individual themed events. The airplane idea was kinda boring.
I would like them to make the horror box again.

I would love to see more food mascots.

I miss having a Marketing Team. More face to the company made it more personal and community oriented rather than like every other company. It really got more people excited and involved with more showing of releases and contests. I dont even know any products coming out anymore so I dont buy like I used to at all because of it. The instagram message for releases is by far not doin for me. At least thats my thoughts. I used to be so much more excited knowing whats coming out and seeing unboxings.

I wholeheartedly concur. I would mark my calendar for when HT Nerdette would go live showcasing upcoming Hot Topic releases and answering questions about future product lines. It would undoubtedly generate significant excitement. Her absence has been keenly felt...

I've read a ton of great ideas through this thread, so mine will be rehashed or reiterated because I do really feel that these are things that should be deeply considered by Funko leadership.

1. A return to limited collectibles - no surprise here that we'd like to see Funko return to its roots where they produced less product which made obtaining something, and vaulted Pops, much more cherished. I do miss the days where Funko-Shop exclusives would sell out in less than a minute or we'd line up outside a store for something we really wanted. It made going out and socializing with other collectors (or flippers lol) a possibility.

2. Make Con exclusive more special - this sort of goes hand--in-hand with #1, but outside of the different sticker there's nothing that differentiates the Pop from the shared one. They're using the new stickers in order to prove product authenticity and potentially protect against sticker-swaps. But why not make the con exclusives more desirable? Making new molds is apparently very expensive, which makes exclusive molds a dream. But why not make "shiny" variants of the con exclusive, or maybe change the box art? Something that incentivizes and hypes Funko!

3. More Fan events - this one is more than likely, unlikely lol Funko is changing to where we are not even sure Fundays is going to be a thing anymore. I understand from a business standpoint, why they would stop doing the event. The venue, the catering, the labor, etc. $200 a person would never cover the costs. They could easily sell a Box of Fun at that price (3 Freddy's + a mascot Pop, maybe even a Proto?) and make a profit. But fan events are just a great way to celebrate Funko and give us an opportunity to mingle and gauge interest.

Fan Events and limited pieces for sure are a way to get back some of those people who have either left or now limit their involvement. I personally only really tend to buy con stickered pops or limited pieces. The cancelling of Fundays (if it’s true) is really going to hurt Funko IMO. Fundays seems to be the only place to get limited pops at this point. IDK, I have felt very frustrated over the past year or so.

Mike Becker was the original creator of Funko. He's no longer with the company, he left and has started a new company called Rokimoto.

Brian Mariotti was the former CEO and before making the company Public, he purchased Funko from Mike. He's no longer with the company, and started his own company called Thrilljoy.

Many other prominent figures from Funko have left over the years. It happens. New jobs, new opportunities.

Yah for real! It made it that much more rewarding when you able to score those limited drops. The reward was worth the heart attacks lol

Lolol haha spot on. What was your best le scoop drop win?

Man, it's been awhile. If I remember correctly, it was one of the Ad Icons, like Tony the Tiger Funko Shop one. What about you?

Anime has been crazy for folks lately!

Since COVID I noticed the anime community grow 10x.

You're right. Why is that? Just more characters to play with?

It slowly built up until folks busted through the wall on collecting anime!

I just see it the bigger the community the higher demand for greater quality which is a win for us all

Ah interesting I didn’t know that. Well that’s good news

It’s a bit annoying though because only my insert was broken the box was ok and the pop was fine. I didn’t want to risk getting a bad box or broken figure the second time so I just have to live with the broken insert

It seems like the replacements have been in much better conditions than the originals (knock on wood)

Wow, that ECCC chrome Batman is a throwback. Congrats on getting it! I remember the site crashing so hard when it released, near impossible to get through =D>

I know it won’t happen, but get rid of Special edition stickers.

It did like a rush when a pop dropped and you got one before it sold out, and if you missed it then the L was with you for the day.
While I’m glad things are more flooded now the “hunt” isn’t really there
The price hikes were kinda expected and I get it
Thread of most of my collection I’m selling. Time to say bye bye to SDCC Gus GiTD, SDCC Freddy’s ride, SDCC Whis and 73 other pops.

Take care and have an awesome day.
