Called a local FYE yesterday asking if they had Sex Bob Omb in stock and they said they did. I asked if I could put my name down to reserve one. She says yes, and I'm thrilled. Walk into the FYE at 730, ask for my reserved box and they tell me they're sold out. I tell them that an employee wrote my name down to hold one to which the guy replied "not my problem." So if you're wondering why FYE is running into the ground it's because of wonderful customer service like that.

The GM of our local FYE is EXACTLY like that. When I went into the store on Celebration release date asking about 4-LOM, he just shrugged and said "no clue". No offer to look in the system or anything.

They hired a night manager, however, who's freaking awesome and one of the friendliest retail workers around.

Sorry to hear that! It's almost identical to what happened to my GF at Box Lunch, she went in and talked to them about the purple Regina. They took her name down and said she was the first on the reserve list. She called in every few days to check, they kept saying they hadn't gotten them in yet. Then she called and they were in! She drove over- sold out, so sorry. BUT MY NAME WAS FIRST ON THE LIST!! Gosh, we didn't see it on there. We'll make another list in case we get some more in and you'll be the first name on it! Fortunately there was a happy ending, despite the odds they did get more in and they called her and she did get it.

I'm happy to say that I had a good experience and fantastic customer service at my FYE. To make a long story short, I pre-ordered the Scott Pilgrim 3-pack only to get a phone call telling me that my pre-order had been cancelled since pre-orders were sold out. Today I got a phone call and the young lady told me that they got one extra set in and that she'd hold it for me for the day. When I thanked her for her help, she told me that she'd contacted corporate to ask them to send one more set because I'd been nice about it when she called me to tell me my order was cancelled.

I am now the happy owner of this 3-pack, but I think I am going to give it to someone who I know wants it more. I probably won't shop fye.com anymore as they leave a bit to be desired, but I'll continue to give this particular location my business when it comes to buying their exclusives.

My physical FYE store is great!
Their online customer service is a disaster, though.
I still can't get past the fact that there's no number to call them through!

Congrats on the set...I'm the same way when dealing with customer service and sales associates. I am shocked when I see people yelling at and treating sales associates like garbage. It's amazing how a friendly attitude, a smile and saying thank you can work in your favor ;-)

My FYE (before it closed) wasn't terrible. You could tell they were going under for a while, and the employees knew it. They weren't terribly good at reaching out, but most of them that I asked for help seemed to be willing to go out on a limb.

That being said, FYE was still a pain. Their selection sucked, and they couldn't do much in the way of finding out information. Sucks to hear so many stores are so crummy at customer service.

Funny. Seems like at my HT Pajama Jack was the least popular SDCC exclusive.

My most anticipated exclusive of the SDCC season just arrived today, and guys...he was WELL worth the hassle!

Image

(Just a bit of a warning first thing, my Pop was packaged VERY poorly. I picked it up and my heart stopped when I felt/heard it rattling around inside. It's some kind of miracle that mine managed to stay pristine throughout its crazy journey, but I'm suspecting that a lot of Funatics will be disappointed when theirs arrives :( )

Image

Good golly, Miss Molly, he is a beauty! The amount of detail they put into this Pop is nothing short of jaw-dropping. I wasn't sure if his paint job was going to be all that great because of how many intricate details Funko put in, but everything looks fantastic. And don't even get me started on the monkey, because it's probably the best "mini-Pop" they've ever created.

But, like, let's keep talking about the details here:

Image

Image

Everything is so identical that you'd think Funko would just reuse practically every single mold except for the fact. But look at the hat! A few extra holes, some added distress, and even the FEATHERS are molded to look more disheveled!

This guy made my entire SDCC season. Screw you, Walgreens, I didn't want your Glider Goblin anyway lol

Don't worry. Gave an eBay user a neutral review for a great price on my Phineas pop, but proceeded to harass me when I said he put the Pop wrapped in bubble wrap in a box that could easily fit three pops with nothing else. Completely rattled around in the box. Said I was "ruining" his business.

My Barbossa came it today and it is probably now my favorite pop. The details are amazing as others have said. The box had some smudges like it got wet but nothing terrible. Now I'm just hoping for a cursed Jack so they can be two immortals locked in an epic battle until Judgement Day.

My Barbossa and Pete came in yesterday, no protection what so ever, just put together in a box. Very lucky that they both came in good shape! My Elliott box was a bit strange, the side of the box was loose, when I opened it from the top of the box, the whole box unravled lol but it's okay!

Just got my elliot and barbosa, I was initially going to keep them to trade but honestly the two of them are really exceptional figures and will be happy displaying them. My boxes came smashed to hell, luckily I was going to do that anyway :) . (the joys of being an oob collector)
