Just in case anyone else is curious like I was, the Pop looks almost as cute in the car as the Dorbz. :D

For the 2nd year in a row I have been able to get tickets to SDCC but have not been able to buy anything from the Funko booth. Oh well maybe next year I can get in and buy something. I was able to buy a few Pops from other booths. Not convention pieces but that's life I guess. Now I need to get 3 more of the Conan to complete my set for this year but going to wait until prices come down.

Only was able to buy Grodd and Pajama Jack on the Pop side this year. I wanted more but my wallet couldn't handle it. On the other hand, I did manage to get a Huckleberry Hound Dorbz which I am stoked about!

Would anyone here (especially the veterans of pop collecting) be against priority access for people who have been active in this forum for years? I mean the ones with solid cred. Maybe funko should have a database or something of that kind of collector. I feel like this forum has a solid enough community to do this. Building and getting to be a part of this community takes time and effort, Clearly, Flipper tend not to really care about those kind of stuff.

This would b awesome. Ppl here should definitely have priority. As I was in line at HT and B&N and GS we talked about this with other guys I met. Lol. So who knows :)

My HT and GS orders arrived today. The 3 Superman were misclick out of excitement of getting the website to load.

Don't mind the boxes. I am in the process of packing.

I was unboxing my SDCC stuff and just noticed the Toy Tokyo 2-pack says Vampire Buffy and Vampire Angel. Why didn't use Angelus - which was his name (as a vampire) and is a much better name!

So, um, what is going on with the Big Boy Bob Pop? Prices are absolutely insane, even for a 480 piece run.
Finally broke the 1,000 Pops mark...

aztecas101 wrote:The New system for the Funko booth totally left me not wanting to try again. I waited from about 1130pm the previous night into the morning thurs, I wasn't in the first tent, but I was in a pretty good spot near the beginning of the 2nd tent. Apparently that's wasn't even close to even letting you attempt to get a wristband. All said and done by the time I even managed to make to sails and back down the stairs : / apparently people were just cutting in line from the back of the building anyway

Just made it home from SD and this was on my mind. Had this same exact experience to the T. I got every single other exclusive con pop at the convention from Fugitive, EE, Bait, funimation, conan pop, fundays, and the pop up shop(btw they were the best...quick, efficient, orderly, and all around awesome!). Also bought all my convention exclusives online. They only things I missed were Indy and Disney ghosts from the funko booth because people just cut in line in the back(after I waited since 2-3am). One guy was walking around the con floor with Indy on Sunday asking for $225 and told me it will go up to $500. You shoulda seen the evil eye I gave him lol
Great idea funko with the wrist bands but for me it was a fail imo. If they would made the Funko line inside the con instead taking you in then back out might have been better. I couldn't go cut in the back because I had Thursday and not a Friday-Saturday badge. The fact that I even had to contemplate cutting in line kinda peeves me off. Anyways rant over. Like I said I got everything else plus fundays was AMAZBALLS so I'm not that mad just that Indy was the one I wanted most.

I also waited on Thursday from Midnight until opening only to get screwed over. I really cant put the blame on Funko this year (unlike years past with fake Jesus). Funko went on the record stating that SDCC forced them to do a lottery, and then completely botched and mismanaged the line formation, allowing cutters in. Either they need to find more room in the Sails Pavillion to accommodate the collectors who put in the effort for just a CHANCE at a wristband, or they need to do what they did on PN and go to an all online lottery. Either way, I ended up getting most of what I wanted online (really wanted Indy and Sex Bob Omb though), but it sucked to be a fan and then like aztecas101 just be given such a large slap in the face for all my time. I'm strongly considering asking SDCC for a refund on Thursday because the orchestration and line management was catastrophic.

Me and a few friends waited around midnight for the Thursday morning Funko line and didn't even get a chance to enter the lottery because of cutting at the Marina. One guy I met at the con lined up at 7pm on Wednesday and got a bracelet for 2pm and by the time he purchased all of the numbered exclusives were done for the day. Luckily he was able to get me a few things but I just gave up on trying to get in that line for the rest of the weekend. Idk if this is true but I heard the Funko line opened up to everyone around 2pm yesterday. Can anyone confirm this?

I too hope SDCC works out the line issue for next year (cutting in from the back of the marina) - not just a Funko issue, as the cutting from the back happened for a LOT of the lines! Will also hope that the lottery is kind to me next year so I can get in! But managed to get one I really wanted from GameStop, so I'm happy for now!

Yeah, I was also one of many that got up super early on Thurs only to get shut out by cutters. My luck that whole weekend was pretty horrible. I was trying to get the Deadpool blu ray (failed), funko wristband (failed), and I even GOT a wristband for the Rick and Morty signing but got turned away along with a bunch of other people with wristbands because they ran over time. Still had fun and just ordered some of the stuff I wanted off ebay before prices spiked so no biggy.

Ok I will speak about my experiences with the funko booth as well now.

I got in line late wednesday to try to draw for thursday, so I slept on the grass. I didn't get a chance to draw because hundreds of people cut in line from the back of the sails pavilion. This was obviously not Funko's fault, it was the convention's fault. These people were cutting in front of the honest people for all the lines including Hasbro, etc., so the honest people missed out on some of the Hasbro exclusives even after getting afternoon tickets because all the morning tickets were gone. I was really depressed and told myself I wasn't gonna do an overnighter again, but I did anyway to get in line for Friday.

Friday was a huge improvement on SDCC's part, no one that I saw cut, and I was near the front of the line to draw for funko. However, I was DENIED in my lottery result and told to "try again tomorrow". That is just crazy, a Funko fan who devotes their night to sleep in the heat and humidity and on the grass, two nights in a row, so they can have a chance to purchase should not get a "try again tomorrow" result. Luckily, my girlfriend got a wristband and we got most of what we wanted anyway.

Funko, PLEASE speak to SDCC and lobby to not have a lottery anymore. As long as SDCC stops people from cutting in line, there should be no reason for a lottery. The ideal method, in my opinion, is to do what Hasbro does with time tickets being given out first come first served. Hasbro also marks off badges during purchase to make sure attendees do not have a chance to buy the same products twice during the convention. There were people at the convention who made it through the Funko line several times buying the same products over and over. I like that Funko uses a wristband though because it is less likely to be transferred or sold to someone else. Another thing that Funko seemed to do better than Hasbro this year was I did not see exhibitors cutting in front of people for Funko, it didn't really seem possible. Hasbro almost freely allows VIPs and exhibitors to cut and purchase, even giving them separate lines to purchase ahead of regular folks at times.

In summary, good job Funko keeping dirty scalper exhibitors out this year, and please no more lottery!!!

It would be nice if it could all be done online, so you don't have to waste time waiting in line...people just register online and numbers are randomly selected and those people come that day to pick up their wristbands, that way people do not have to waste their con in lines...I am hoping that will be the future of SDCC

I'm guessing you guys haven't tried getting anything in the morning up there in the past few years? SDCC always claims there's strict rules and blahblahblah but the veteran scammers know how to get around everything.. the back stairs by the Marina being Trick #101.

Anyone get their Toys R Us order? Just got mine. Stuffed in a box so small the flaps barely closed with the tape. A huge strip of my invoice was visible in the seam. All 3 bent/crushed/curved in various places. I'm pretty sure I can fix them enough to be happy, but jeez. If the box doesn't shut, use a different one. ](*,)

Posted this elsewhere, but did anyone else have a Hot Topic box come damaged? Pop box has a decent amount of damage, wondering if a return might be in the cards. Also, this isn't little damage, box looks like it was punched in the side.

Also, my Gamestop was WELL packed. HUGE BOX with tons of paper packing for two pops. Pop Boxes had minimal/little damage.
