GameStop was also missing Dr. Strange (not one I want, I just heard the worker on the phone asking where it was), so I asked HT to give me a call if they came in.

My HT didn't have Mag, either.
Seems like it was like this across all stores.

Mine in Columbus, OH didn't get him either.

Luckily I was able to get him online.

A couple others had strange paint drips, like they had been sprayed with thinner before the paint dried. I ordered one for my GF online, but when I saw all the damaged ones I nabbed the one good one in case the online order comes in damaged. Be sure you check that one closely before buying!

I noticed the same issues. When I went to GS they didn't even have their SDCC stock out yet. As he opened the boxes he handed me the ones I was interested in and all but 2 had bad paint issues

I noticed the same as well. The face looks a bit worn on mine. Maybe the paint didn't set correctly.

Same thing here! We had a really bad storm last night that knocked out the power at the 2nd GS I was gonna check down the street after checking the mall first, so they are closed.

I got to the mall about a quarter after 10. B&N and HT had barely sold anything, while GS was almost completely sold out. It's as if most people just went to GS and skipped HT and B&N. It was weird. I was the only one around looking at Pops at all three stores. I went through the B&N doors to get to HT which is nearby, looking at the table in front at B&N first. I didn't want anything they had, but wanted to see them in-person anyway. They had a TON of everything except Snoopy. In fact Snoopy was the only one I don't recall seeing at all. Strange. Either I'm forgetting, they didn't get him, or he was the only thing selling. I figured he would be the worst seller. They probably had more HP 3-packs than anything. At HT they had plenty of everything except for the fact they had no 6" Mag or Grodd. I'm assuming they didn't get them. I got the Pop I wanted the most, thumbs up BB-8, and also got SS Batman. I stood there for awhile trying to decide between Batman or the Harley Quinn Rock Candy as my 2nd item. I didn't want to buy both due to money being tight right now. The Harley was a little less impressive in person than I was expecting, so I went with Batman, which is my first Batman Pop. I wanted the Vanellope Dorbz Ride, but was shocked to see the $30 price tag. I wasn't gonna pay that. $25 was the absolute highest I would of considered paying, which is what Funko had listed as the con price. Then I checked GS, which had been ransacked. All I wanted there was Han w/ bowcaster, but they didn't have it. All they had left were 2 6" Doomsday, 2 Cowboy Deadpool, and an X-Men 3-pack. Overall it was a fairly successful hunt for my very first SDCC Pop hunt, but I left a little disappointed that I couldn't find Han. I also would liked to of bought a couple more items from HT, but then I wouldn't have enough money for gas.

I was wondering if it was just a bad batch or a widespread problem. Sounds like the latter! I wonder if it's because of the metallic paint, perhaps they were trying to package them too soon after painting and they weren't cured well enough.

How much does shipping to the states generally run from Forbidden Planet? Sitting on three pops I want but it says shipping will be calculated and charged AFTER packaging...don't think I like that. Haha

So my local Gamestop said that he thought they would have them today or tomorrow, and told me to call/come in around 1. So...yes, I would check today, for sure.

He also said they don't even have Marcus Fenix in their system, but to keep checking, because if Funko says they'll have it, they'll have it eventually. But that it may have been delayed.

But I definitely have the one in NY that did get it. My local Gamestop is in Indiana.

I can't remember exactly, but it was somewhere between $2.50-$3.00 per Pop.

Walked downstairs to GameStop where nobody was waiting and picked up doomsday. Apparently NY didn't get any Han Solo or Dr. Stranges in stock so a lot of people left disappointed.

All in all I got 3 out of the 4 I wanted ( no dr. strange). Hopefully I can grab a Goblin tomorrow (probably not though).

Still can't believe how people were acting at hottopic.

What I like about my BN last year was they hand them behind the counter so you had to ask for the ones you wanted, wish HT did this but they seem to care more about the $$$

That's how GameStop was handling the Pops they had today. Everyone waited online like civilized people and the guy behind the counter said one pop per style (which I think is what all stores should do with SDCC & NYCC exclusives).

This free for all mentality and 5 per style that HT is allowing is ridiculous. People that were last in line were pushing others out of they way grabbing 5 of everything only to sell them online. For the first day of the convention they should be kept behind the counter and have a max limit of two per style.

I normally don't go out of my way to put a store/company on blast but I'm going to write a letter to the corporate office regarding how this was handled. It's not fare that people waiting up to an hour before opening were not able to get what the were waiting for and even worse someone could of been hurt and sued the store.

When I visited the second HT location, the manager said that they were in no way obligated to control the crowd. When I snapped back and asked if they'd be obligated if someone got hurt, they shut up.

I'm still fuming over what happened. It was pure b.s. I got there at 730 and the guy that got there at 930 had no problems pushing me aside. I'm smaller than them and I'm never looking for trouble re: a toy, but today completely set me off. Hot Topic blew it. Badly. Extremely unprofessional, unorganized, and embarrassing.

At first I thought it weird that GS kept them behind the counter. But now that I think about it, that was a smart thing to do. Even though my HT this morning was not that bad (only 5-7 of us and no one pushed and shoved), I can see how larger crowds can get out of hand. It's like Black Friday all over again.

I also have no problem letting the HT head office know how stupid and ridiculous the lack of crowd control was. 20 customers and 5 staff. They just stood there and watched. That was infuriating.

Why the hell should someone who got there at 730 be shoved aside and treated like crap by some loser who got there at 930? And have staff not do anything about it. That's ridiculous.

Not obligated to control the crowd? Wow. That's definitely unprofessional.

Yours is not the only horror story I heard. A GS near me had a fight, HT in the mall by my house had a ton of arguments. The Hot Topic I went to was great. I was first in line and when the doors opened, no one rushed in, people were even handing Pops to others cuz they couldn't reach and grab it.

It wasn't even a large crowd. 20 of us. 5 of them. They had plenty of opportunitis to control and guide the crowd. They opted to do nothing. When I said something, NOBODY listened.

Said a lot about the company how today was handled. HT is an absolute joke. The lack of proper training and etiquette. If you're in retail, do your damn job. Otherwise, leave and find another job where you don't have to talk to people.

Yup, it's their store, they should be obligated, and not just that it's common decency

How is any store not obligated to do crowd control/protect it's customers? That should be one of the top things on their list. And they had to know it was going to a busy morning for them, too. Why not schedule a couple of extra people? HT always sounds like a mess when there's big releases like this.

The last two years, Barnes and Noble had Funko POP posters. Does anyone know if the same holds true this year? Didn't really need anything but would love to add another poster.

They do/did. I wasn't there personally but I saw a picture of it this morning.

Dude I walked out of barnes and noble with a black eye. It still hurts

It's blue-purple with a giant freddy in the middle, surrounded by two pops and two dorbz. But I think you need to buy something SDCC related in order to get one.

I was wondering if it was just a bad batch or a widespread problem. Sounds like the latter! I wonder if it's because of the metallic paint, perhaps they were trying to package them too soon after painting and they weren't cured well enough.

Ok so same here in MA too! I would never have guessed it was a problem till I saw you guys mention it. At $15 I rejected the first two he handed me. I did end up with a really nicely done one. Funny thing is, it was only the faces......
