Although they need collectors to buy the products from companies that sell Pop! figures, it is the companies that are ordering exclusives and stock that pay their bills. And for that to continue, they have to keep them happy despite how collectors may feel.

This ^. So many people wanna point the finger at Funko without knowing all the details behind said exclusive(s).

They are certainly in a position to have a dialogue with their vendors. It's not a one-way conversation. Even if the retailer ultimately ignores their suggestions, at least feedback can be passed along.

I think it's disingenuous to suggest that people should not make assumptions and counter with assumptions of your own. Just let people offer their /respectful/ feedback, and if nothing changes with future exclusives, then we'll have an answer.

Well, we have 15 pages of feedback...I think it's time to let this one die an honorable death. Or we could continue the same back and forth arguments for another 15 pages. I was thinking of getting out the popcorn.

A POP of SuperNicMan may not accurately capture the crotch on his costume, which is obviously an important component.

I haven't caught up in a while. I can't believe I'm the OP on such madness. It's exhilarating and frightening all at the same time. I just liked the pop and was hoping to get a Bat-Mite made.

I dunno. The Black Friday at Gamestop was pretty close. I have to say I had never read more angry, bitter posts till that time. I really thought that debacle was going to damage Funko and Gamestop.

I like that you said "I move on". That's just it. Either feed the flippers or more on. Why dwell on something that those are your two choices.

From what I can tell from these boards, Funko is actually pretty open and responsive to feedback. So if something is handled in a way that frustrates their customers, shouldn't they offer that feedback, so that Funko can avoid those same pitfalls in the future?

It isn't a pitfall lol It is a limited exclusive. It worked EXACTLY how it is intended.

They should just skip the bulge and go full...
Spoiler: show

That would be the greatest pop ever. They should make stock so each store only gets 1 for every store they sell to and it should be put in a new section so noone can find it. Then announce its a single run. Ha that would be awesome and Im sure we would all be so excited for that.....

Well sure, if the goal is to repeat the mistakes of the 90s comic speculator boom/bust, it worked wonderfully. If the goal was to get people into Target to buy Suicide Squad pops, considering that most stores received one or two initial sets and most collectors know that ZEA Batman won't be back, I'm not sure what it accomplished except to sour people on Target exclusives.

Nobody's buying the SS pops at the Targets near me. There are three that I've been checking regularly. The BS numbers never changed, neither does the stock when I go. Have not seen one of this Batman (which I have no interest in) or exclusive Joker. The Batman was pretty much a Target Employee Exclusive. Nice.

Same, I popped into my local Target today for other items and saw that they had a Target Joker so that was pretty exciting. A little kid was looking at them right before I got to them. He picked the Joker exclusive up and said "eww, I don't like him" and put him back at which point I politely smiled at him and his mother, grabbed him, and went about my merry way.

I actually think this may have been my first time seeing a Target exclusive that I was interested in in the wild.

Noticed a target by me was showing a bunch in stock and headed over there with the hopes of scoring an exclusive joker. Went over to the toy department to find an employee giving his buddy the exclusive jokers and exclusive secret life of pets pops to one of his buddy's to flip.

Glad I bought the boxer joker off of PC, along with insane snowball. Don't want to deal with that BS at Target anymore.

I had no problem finding the unmasked Batman at Target, which was the last exclusive they had that I wanted. That's why this one caught me so unprepared.

You keep speaking for a very large group of people as if your opinion is theirs. It is a small group on this board compared to the overall group of collectors. And even this board is 50/50. This argument is old but you can look back at the beginning of collecting (and I mean in anything), and it has shown time and time again, rarity is important.

I love that Funko offers limited run pieces. What fun is it if you can find every single piece you want every time? Part of the fun is looking for those HTF pieces and finally obtaining them. There were discontinued pieces that I searched years for being finding. The satisfaction of finding those kind of pieces is unmatched. The problem with a lot of collectors is that they want and need it like yesterday. Everyone wants to be the first one to find it / own it. Yes, a lot of that mentality has to do with the fear of "flippers" getting to them first. But guess what? They know that people need to own that piece and will pay a premium for it. The worse part for me is that plenty of people will pay the $75+ for the piece right now, sit on it for a few weeks and then sell it to pay for the next HTF exclusive. There isn't an attachment to said pieces.

I guess all I'm saying is that I love that Funko makes some limited run pieces, even if that means I'm not able to get every piece I want right away. Stick around long enough, make enough friends in the community and one day you'll obtain that piece you wanted back in the day for a decent price or fair trade. Appreciate those cool finds when you do get lucky...

Well, no. I'm voicing an opinion. I'm not declaring it anyone else's but my own.

I always forget how young this board skews, when people who were pre-pubescent for the Image era of comics think they are educating people on how collecting works. Anyway, no one is saying rarity isn't important or that there shouldn't be limited exclusives, but there are right ways and wrong ways to handle it. I think this was the wrong way and Funko should make adjustments.
