Great job as always Tres. There's so much detail in the GoT display. And I can already see that the castle is going to be awesome! Your gf's daughter will love it (think I want one now lol

). I think it's awesome that you both spend so much time making the present rather than just buying something pre-made that probably wouldn't even look half as good. It makes the present so much more special.

I really hope you find your dog or he returns eventually. Maybe Santa has him helping him out and will return him soon

I really hope so. Please let us know when you find him.

Prop, thank you! Yeah time is definitely an issue, I work on them in little bursts and then once in a while (usually when it's raining) I can spend a few hours on one and get a lot done. Two of my kids are away in college now so that frees up some time too, not that it's a "good" thing because I do miss them but hey, gotta let them grow up

Well I FINALLY got Robb Stark so the GoT display will be finished soon!

The artist also finished my TMNT truck project, here's one of the pics he sent me, I LOVE it! There will be a future TMNT display, I'll probably mess with it during Christmas vacation

Nito, I'm glad you like it, I was beginning to think I was the only one :-)

The same artist is working on the other 3 turtles, Shredder, Foot Soldier, Splinter and April. Once he wraps it up I will be doing a display for them that will kind of mirror the batcave but with more of a sewer tunnel look. Until then I've got another project in mind, it involves a certain winged ant and his pilot :-)

Today is an AMAZING day, my oldest is graduating from college AND my pup has been FOUND!! I am so happy I could explode! He was found in the middle of a busy road just feet from cars speeding by, one of my neighbors stopped in the middle of the road and held up her hands to stop traffic and scooped him up like a true superhero!!! She brought him straight to my house and called me (my number and his pic were on a sign in my yard). Wow, I can't even describe how elated I was! He went from 7-1/2 to 6 pounds and, incredibly, survived near freezing temps and the horrible storms we've had in the last week. He's a lil survivor!

Thank you Jonas! I am still on cloud 9 over getting my buddy back :-)

Finally finished the castle, I'll get some better pics tomorrow in daylight but here's a quick one. It's not anything elaborate, I kept it kid-friendly for an 8-year-old to play with without it getting torn up :-)

Joe, I actually drew up plans for an addition on my house for a hobby room to display my toy collection. Got it priced, then my wife (was still married at the time) decided we needed a pool more. Guess who won lol

Princess, thanks! She has a little foam castle that is supposed to be just for display but she plays with her Pops on it so I think she'll love this :-)

My kids and I are so happy to have Chippy back! It will certainly make for a much brighter Christmas! Here's Chippy and me:

Jonas, thanks! I totally agree that the castle is not the same level of quality as the other displays, I was going for durability rather than a nice level of finish on it since it will be played with and probably played with hard lol

I finished the Ant Man scene, here are some pics. I originally used light bulbs at the center of the flowers, my source voltage is 12v and the bulbs were 6v so I wired them in series, which SHOULD have worked but for some reason they kept burning out. I spent some time fussing with them but after 4 popped I said screw it and redid the flowers with LED lights. It was a PITA since the scene was already mostly complete, had to be super careful soldering so as not to burn the paper or foam but I got through it without screwing anything up lol

The yellowjacket is the glow version so I did a UV strip in front of him. The effect isn't as pronounced as I had hoped but it does activate his glow stripes (I put the non-glow version in for comparison and was surprised that the glow one was actually glowing more than I realized). Most of these Pops are my son's, he was pretty excited about getting part of his collection in my display case :-)

Well it's been a while, but I've been working on a new display for the cases :-)

But first let me catch up on some thank you's I missed! Beau, Rob, Diana, allhermight, Battastic and Cody, thanks a million for the great comments :-D

So a while back I posted a pic of a TMNT van that I had an artist do some cool doodling on. I've since had him do a whole TMNT set for me and I'm in the process of wrapping up the display for them. I have two Detolf cases right next to each other and the top shelf in the right case has the Batman cave display, so I decided to make this one kind of a bookmark display to put on the top shelf in the left case. It's similar to the batcave but modified to look more like sewer construction, and is the mirror opposite in how it is laid out. This first progress pic is from a couple of days ago:

The inside of the sewer tunnel is lighted with UV LEDs and all of the sewer pipes are painted in fluorescent GITD paints which unfortunately do not photograph well (the colors are all washed out), but they are very vibrant in color when you see them "in person" :-)

I've got to wire the pigtail to the Detolf case and then it'll be ready to install and set up with the other Pops. I'll post finished pics when I get that wrapped up!
