Hope I'm not trying to hijack or put this in the wrong thread, but this is my first display.

As said in my introduction thread, I stalked the hell out of this place. I mean, to no end. To stay up to date with everything coming out for the longest time. Then I took a gander at this thread.

I was definitely inspired. I looked at my shelves, rearranged thing, now it's my goal for each shelf to have a display to go with it. Since they're all themed.

This is my first in progress display. I used my little brother's wrestling ring to it's advantage. Now, it's debatingly in progress because, I want to see if WWE comes out with anymore that I need. Only ones I really want left are Stone Cold, Warrior, Piper, and the Daniel Bryan WWE variant. Paige, if they decide to do more than an AJ repaint. If any other current stars come out, I may be interested. If I get more, I'll probably upgrade the ring and make a titantron [gonna try that anyway.]

Regardless of that, I wanted to let you know that with each display I plan on making, animation and NBA being next, I got to thank you on here. No, the WWE display isn't nearly as good yet, but I'm definitely trying to follow in your foot steps.

Dragoon, thank you for the kind comments! Nice job on the wrestling ring :-)

It sounds like you plan on creating more future scenes which I think is awesome, you should start a thread like this one to post your continuing work so we can all follow along :-)

Well I really expected to finish the GoT display first, but it got edged out by the Batcave! Just finished it this evening. I created a little story with this one, Catwoman is up to a bit of naughtiness and poor ol' Batman is about to drive right into it :-)

The Joker is looking on with a little too big of a smile on his face ;-)

All are the 1966 Batman Pops with the exception of the GS exclusives lined up along the front. The cave is lit with UV LED strips and I painted the stalactites and equipment in GITD paints. My phone tends to grey out these dioramas, I guess the lighting messes with it, but the colors are much more vibrant in person. Hope you all like it :-)

I actually just updated it with the image. Still trying to figure out the board and such, I'll get a hang of it sooner than later.

That is so rad. I might actually just try to make my own thread! When my displays get better, of course. When they're more than just a ring and a hidden taped Rock. It'll take some work, but I got big plans for the display. Gotta take down the poster behind it, add a few lights. It should come out looking great. As said, my work on that display will truly come down to if I get any more Pops and what comes out wrestling wise [I'd put the most work if we got indie wrestling Pops, cough NJPW and ROH, cough Funko please.] However, I feel inspired enough to finish up my animation display by the end of the week. Or, at least get most of the work done. I gotta wait till Christmas so one of my friends can then give me the Steven Universe Pops, which are gonna play a part.

The fact you did the detail inside the bat-cave really does show how much work you put into this. That's awesome. Kinda hoping you edit the Jabba display when the Star Wars 3 pack that includes the Rancor comes out. Add a hatch, then the shelf under neath it can be the Rancor trap room.

Was hoping it would be out this month so I could work on it over Christmas break but it's not looking likely at this point.

It would be so epic once the Rancor comes out to have a Rancor pit under your Jabba's Palace. Like have your already made palace on top over a box with a glass window. Have the Rancor and Luke down under the palace set up.

You did an AMAZING job on the WD display. The attention to detail was inspired. Almost makes me want to build my own but I just CAN'T bring myself to pull them out of their boxes.

This batcave scene was a tough one to build, mainly because of the "roof" of the cave. I wanted to try and make it look like a mountain rather than some kind of structure so did that curvy "roof", but wow it was tricky because it's a compound curve. Took a lot of shaping and finessing to get it to hold its shape. I'm happy with how it turned out though!

Ben, thanks! Do you mean like a human-sized Batcave? Well I am an architect, if only I had the money lol

Tanner, yes I have already mentioned earlier in this thread that I plan on building a Rancor pit under the Jabba display whenever the Rancor comes out, and yes Luke will be in it fighting the Rancor :-)

I went back and watched the movie again a couple of weeks ago to see what the pit needs to look like. It's pretty much rock formations with a dirt floor, so I will build it with plaster cloth like the Walking Dead rock formations. It will be lit with LED strips but I'm going to try and tone it down and make it darker. There will be a viewing "window" in the front of it (kind of like the mouth of a cave) because it will be tough to see into it through the grates in the throne room. Anyway I can't get started on it (unfortunately) until I actually have the Rancor because I need to figure out how big to make the pit. Oola if she is included in the set will go top-side which is why in my signature it says "This spot reserved for Oola" with the arrow, that empty spot to the front right doesn't have anything in it because I've always planned on putting her there whenever she comes out!

Princess, thanks! The next one (the GoT) is already done, as soon as the last Pop arrives I'll put it all in the case and take pictures.

Walker, thank you! I still have plenty of others in the box though, LOL! So many in fact that I was planning on doing a 2nd WD dio, and I may yet.

I need to buy regular Batgirl and the GS B&W and gold DC figures! This is a never ending story... And not having GS at Mexico it's even more difficult.

Couldn't you use this pic to get a nearly exact estimate of how big the Rancor will be? So maybe you wouldn't have to wait on the actual figure's production to make your Rancor diorama?

Thanks Beto! I thought I had regular Batgirl and was going to put her in the spot on the other side of the Batmobile from Robin but I couldn't find her over the weekend. The lesson there is I have way too many Pops scattered in way too many places in the house :-)

Randy, I probably could but when I build these displays I set up the Pops first and mock up the displays around them. It's the easiest way for me to keep the scale and size of the backdrops appropriate to what is being displayed in them. Plus I have a fairly limited area that these go in so I have to keep them tight.

Here's a sneak peek of a subject for a future scene. You might have to be a child of the 60's and 70's and Peter Max black light posters and such like I am to appreciate this artist's work, but I commissioned him to do some TMNT pieces for me. First up is the van and driver. I've always thought the van was on the boring side, I mean I know it's modeled after the cartoon version and true to the color scheme but it just looked like it needed something. I'm really loving what he's done with it so far!

I meant making the whole batcave, complete with bat computer and costume displays and all that neat batman stuff. lol

Bean, hey if I moved out to the garage I could make BIGGER dioramas! I'd have to park the cars and motorcycles outside though and that ain't gonna happen lol

Ben, oh I get what you're saying now, hahaha! That would be very cool but the reason the scenes I make are so small is because they have to fit inside an Ikea Detolf case so it limits me. I had not even planned on doing a Batcave but my GF bought me that Batmobile for my bday and the wheels started turning :-)

Just lay the Detolf on its side and you've got a LOT more room to work with...

Hahaha! Some day I hope to add a toy room onto my house just to display all my models and R/C planes and motorcycles and stuff, if I ever do that I'll have more room for larger displays :-)

Until then I'm going to limit the Pops to the two Detolf cases I have set up plus the shelves next to them.

Was originally going to be the Joker standing behind the plunger since Catwoman is kind of Batman's love interest in the '66 series, but then when I took her out of the box and saw her hands were perfectly positioned to hold the plunger, well I knew then it was time for some girl power :-D

Well I started the next project last night. This one is for my GF's 8-year-old daughter for Christmas. Between my GF and me she has already quite a collection of Pops :-)

She's so cute, she has some exclusives and won't play with them or let her friends touch them, they are display only! But she does play with the commons. I picked up the Marshmallow 3 pack for her for Christmas from a fellow Funatic, yesterday I bought this wooden castle at Michael's that will be the display/ play set for the 3 pack. The interior is spray painted in Periwinkle, the outside right now is just primed but will be painted gloss white (and of course all the paint overlaps will be cleaned up). I am going to line the inside with some ice formations similar to the Wampa cave and it will be lit with blue LEDs. I removed some of the hardware to paint it but it is hinged and has a latch so it can be opened and closed, and it has a hinged drawbridge that is held closed by a magnet. My GF and I will also add some paint details and snowflakes and such to it to make it more fun for a little girl :-)

Prop, thank you! Yeah time is definitely an issue, I work on them in little bursts and then once in a while (usually when it's raining) I can spend a few hours on one and get a lot done. Two of my kids are away in college now so that frees up some time too, not that it's a "good" thing because I do miss them but hey, gotta let them grow up :-)

Well I FINALLY got Robb Stark so the GoT display will be finished soon!

The artist also finished my TMNT truck project, here's one of the pics he sent me, I LOVE it! There will be a future TMNT display, I'll probably mess with it during Christmas vacation :-)

I finally finished the GoT display, I got delayed because my precious buddy, a long-haired mini dachsund that has gotten me through some tough times, has gone missing. My gf let him out and for some reason he bolted, he's never done it before. Me, my friends and family have driven and walked dozens if not hundreds of miles, posted signs, places messages on social media and talked to countless neighbors, but no one has seen him. I just hope wherever he ends up they love him as much as we did :-( Anyway I don't want to bring everyone down, I did finally get back on this to take my mind off of things and wrapped it up. This is actually a Christmas present to my gf, she already had the throne, Daeny and big dragon but the rest are Pops I got for her for this scene. She knows I've been working on it but I've kept it covered so hopefully she'll be surprised!

I wanted to position the big dragon just right so it would peer over the throne and its tail would kind of wrap over it too. The archways are lit in yellow LEDs, the window in red and the area behind the throne in blue. I've watched through season 4, so I'm not sure if Daeny ever makes it onto the throne or not so this is kind of a fantasy scene :-)

The 4 fellows at the base of the throne either did not make it or were not able to hold onto it, thus the tear I added to each of their eyes lol

There is a unsullied Pop due to be released, he will go in the space on the left opposite Grey Worm. So I guess it isn't -quite- complete yet :-)

Thank you Jay and Diana! Diana, he's fixed so I don't think that was it! My gf had her dog here and let them both out at the same time, there have been issues with them getting along before so I told her not to let them out together, but she did anyway (normally I let him out, but she did it while I was at work). Not that it's her fault, accidents happen. But I have a feeling that her dog may have run him off.
