Spike is a friend of the mane 6. Twilight used her magic to hatch his egg when she was younger, so they grew up together. He's still a baby by dragon standards, but it seems like he's just slightly younger than Twilight.

Spike is her friend. She hatched him from an egg as part of her test to get into magic school (which is what eventually allowed her to become a princess) so they've known eachother all his life. He's still a baby dragon because their age progression is a lot slower than that of ponies.

On the other hand- he works for Twilight for free, sleeps in a basket in her house, and when they went through the mirror (or whatever it was they went through) to the humanoid-world- he became a dog, not a humanoid...

So I can see where the kids might have mixed thoughts about who he is. He is at least as much of her friend as my cat is my friend I guess

Quick question. Does anyone else's glitter Daring Do have Chinese(?) writing in her hat? I haven't noticed anything like it on any of my other ponies.
