Placing a pre-order doesn't guarantee you'll get it first, before anyone else who ordered it; it just means that you're placing an order for something that isn't in stock yet. Placing a pre-order means you're now in the queue to receive one; there has been one set aside for you. Why is there so much animosity for not getting it before anyone else?
I feel that there are a lot of complaints here about something that cannot ever be controlled - no matter what, you'll never be able to guarantee that you get yours before anyone else. There are too many variables. I just don't understand the problem here. Has HT told you your items won't be sent to you? They aren't limited edition, and we're talking about toys. This doesn't seem like something to get bent out of shape about.
Like I said, I'm not angry about it or anything. Initially I was upset because I've heard nothing about my order, yet people are already getting shipping notifications, but I'm over it now. If anything, the lack of communication is what's bothering me about this whole thing...and I also know now that I don't have to be in a rush to order these figures, because it won't matter in the end. That's all I'm saying.
I still feel that people have a right to be upset about this whole ordeal, regardless. But yes, in the past we have received our orders far ahead of the planned street-date, which was awesome. This isn't going to keep me from ordering the figures from Hot Topic, either. I just won't be in a hurry to place a pre-order from now on.
I'll be honest, too: I always thought that pre-ordering meant you were guaranteed your item and that they would be shipped accordingly. That was my fault for assuming.
