POP! figures not based on licenses

Postby Gojitron » Wed Aug 27, 2014 4:28 pm

We all love our POP! figures based on movie, TV, comic and game characters, but would anyone be into figures not based on specific licenses? Things like mythology, historical figures, legends, world leaders, public domain literary characters, things like that. Endless possibilities. Some ideas that I had...

POP! Myths - Zeus, Medusa, Minotaur, Poseidon
POP! Cryptids - Bigfoot, Jersey Devil, Mothman
POP! Legends - King Arthur, Robin Hood, Sinbad
POP! Pirates - Blackbeard, Anne Bonny, Captain Kidd
POP! History - Houdini, Tesla, Einstein
POP! Presidents - Washington, Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt

I dunno, I think I just want everything turned into a POP! at this point. lol

Pop! Myth would be cool. Hitler, Stalin, Churchill, Patton... that would be cool as well.
Pirates, I think they can get away doing those you mentioned but with the AC designs and backing, much more sales and exposure.
I would personally love a Bush Pop!, can't wait for Funko to make one so I can dip it in acid while I laugh hysterically :)

Yes for Pop! Myths. The Trickster archetype is one of my favourites, so I'd love to see some Pop versions of Anansi, Prometheus, Raven, or Tanuki.

(Also, because of my love of marine folklore, Nessie and Ogopogo for Pop! Cryptids)

Would love to see the Myths and Legends. Some of the best Pops I have seen are the customs that the artists in house have made. Would love to see more of their creations become actual mass produced Pop figures.

They have already dived into Asian lore with the Monkey King set. It's only a matter of time till Greek Mythology comes in. (Might be waiting on Disney Hercules though).

I think Legends would be the best. King Arthur, Three Musketeers, Siege Weapon Vehicles. ^_^

I would love to see some original Funko characters that are not licensed. But honestly, the licensing is what will keep the pop line going for years to come. So much pop culture can be made into a pop with relative ease

POP! Cryptids and Myths would be AWESOME. I'd also like a line of animal Pops. Like desert animals, jungle animals, sea creatures, arctic animals, nocturnal animals, domestic animals, ect. I think it would be cool for animal lovers like myself.

I feel like someone has a license on those figures. Especially Hitler, because he is a really popular action figure.

Add me to the list of those who want to see mythological characters and literary figures as Pops. I'd also like to see other historical figures such as famous artsists, Frida Kahlo in particular.

I'd pretty much like to see Pops of figures that the Unemployed Philospopher's Guild have made plush toys from.
