Non Character Pops

Was reading another post about logos and it made me think about non character Pops that could compliment my collection. For example, a Death Star Pop (chase could be the blown up version) or buried statue of Liberty from the first planet of the apes. Which others would you like to see and try to keep it in areas that Funko already has licenses in.

I could be down for some more non-character Pops. Top of my list would have to be Emperor Palpatine's throne or similarly Snoke's version. I'd also buy the crap out of a large Cat's Lair from Thundercats or Spongebob's pineapple house

I think that this will create a good line of Pops. Think about the Pop Rides withouth the character riding. Like the new James Bond Ride with just the iconic Aston Martins.
Also, if I remember correctly, Funko has done that in the past where they created the Iron Throne POP from GOT. That was a very nice addition to the GOT line. They can also do that by expanding the domed POPs. We have the rose example which is not a character also.
I would think of some example of non character pops like:
1) The One Ring from LOTR in a Dome version
2)Death Star as already mentioned
3) A LIGHTSABER??? on a stand (multiple versions/colors also)
4)Jason's Hockey Mask from Friday the 13th
5)Swords (like Hattori Hanzo katanas, which would be a nice addition to the Kill Bill line)
6) Indiana Jones stuff like his Hat or the Ark of the Covenant
7)Wilson from Castaway (POP Movies addition)
etc...

I think this is a cool idea. The Iron Throne has always been a great piece! It would make for some cool photos too. I’d love to that’s aome extra background scenery.

This is a touchy topic. I like the iron throne, it's really cool and you can sit different pops on it. But the beauty and the beast rose didn't make sense.
I guess it's just case by case.

I feel like this would be very hit or miss. When the Iron Throne first came out people were laughing at how stupid it looked and to a point, they were right. NOW, people want it because it rose in value (remember there was tons of these things sitting at HTs across the country for weeks after NYCC)

The Beauty and The Beast Rose was a cool concept but the customer interest wasn't that high.

But if they ever DID do anything else, I would like to see a Lantern ring set - I think that'd be awesome but that's just my biased opinion

I wasn’t thinking of a domed item. I was thinking more of f something like the Iron Throne. Wasn’t thinking along the lines of a ride either. Standard or even 6 inch ones.

The thing that bugs me about non character pops are.... once they're otb, you can't really tell it's a Pop.

Well I would have to say the weirwood tree in the godswood from Game of Thrones. The white bark and red leaves would look real nice with my GOT collection for sure. Also have to be a "Dead Inside" door for my Walking Dead collection. <3

Non character pops would be cool, but like Dumplingbox said, outside of the box it wouldn’t look like a POP. Kinda like the Iron Throne

I'm not a fan of that idea. I buy POPs because I like the designs of each character. If Funko made a Death Star it wouldn't be a unique Funko design, it'd just be a 3.5" Death Star that could have been traced back to any other company.
I'd take a Deluxe/Ride of the Emperor in the Death Star, though.

I don't know if I'd buy much that wasn't a specific pop. I got the Iron Throne only because I could put pops on it for pictures, and I don't own a single other GoT pop. I like the rides because you can put characters in them, but also stand them in front of the ride. I have zero interest in the domed items, at least thus far, I much prefer my pops out of a dome so they are more easily photographed etc.

That said, I'm always open to more Funko, doesn't mean I'll buy it, but nothing wrong with the company trying to expand and test the waters on new items.

This is a cool idea, but I don't think they'd be able to make non-character star wars pops, given the licensing restriction. Unless there's a way to make the death star bobble...

I was just about to say this, but I'm generally not a fan of non character "pops". I like the iron throne because of the possibilities to link it up with characters. Not sure if I'd buy the gauntlet even because of what someone else said - out of box, you wouldn't know it was funko.

I guess that makes sense. It would have the Funko labor of course but I could see it looking like any other version of that Gauntlet. It could go either way for me though. I might buy it simply because it's a Funko piece.

I agree items that can be used by multiple characters would be best. Iron throne, some sort of broom stand or desk for harrybpotter characters.

Indivual dragonball as a non character pop. create all the dragonballs with their respective number of stars.

The one that I was referring to isn’t a custom. It’s an actual pop that was released by Funko. I think it may have been a hot topic exclusive

Hmm this is interesting. I think I could get behind some of the ideas being passed around. That would be cool. But it's true and begs the question of it really being a POP! then? The style of POP! figures would no doubt be lost in creating some of the non characters. But I guess a few really important ones could be made. The Iron Throne was a hit, the rose not so much.

Maybe pop accessories like glasses or hats or removable capes... for the custom funko or even for some specific characters?
