Obi-Wan # 10 vaulted edition black box

I was re-sorting my Star Wars collection the other night and when I turned off the lights I saw a glow over in his direction. Upon further look I noticed that Obi-WANs light saber glows. Does anyone else have this and confirm it is supposed to? I have never noticed this and no other sabers in non holo form glow (except the ones in the new Last Jedi 4 packs from what I know). Just wondering if this was intended or an error.

Interesting as my Blue Box Luke (#11) does not glow. Nor does my old Vader, or #49 Luke. Not a big deal but found it strange.

I will try to do it now but it is pretty light outside...standby.

Try charging it up by using the flash on your camera and see if that works.

I can charge it for longer and take a better picture when the sun isn't shining through the windows.


I charged the Luke (#11 Blue Box) and got nothing. Same for all older releases with sabers.

Yeah I've seen this with some Star Wars pops and some others. I think it just has to do with the plastic they are using to make it, maybe some batches just retain light better.

So I check every SW pop with a saber (That isn't a GITD variant) and none of the sabers glow except for this Obi-Wan. Can anyone verify that their black box "out of the vault" Obi Wan does the same?

It does. I don't have a black box Jedi Luke to test, but someone should test that too.

My black box Luke saber DOESN'T glow
My Blue Box Obi-Wan, Luke, and Vader sabers glow but the Hot Topic Exclusive Vader saber does not glow

Wow i didn't even know that the older lightsabers glowed!

I remember hearing about this a year or two ago. I thought almost all the older figures with sabers glowed, but apparently not.

my out of the vault black box obi wan saber does not glow....i think i've been duped...

I checked mine. Ive always been a bit sad I couldnt find the blue box back when, only blue Im missing. Now Im pretty stoked, my black box saber glows, glows, glows! Thanks for the info!
