1/12 Chrome Superhero Stan Lee Pops-OFFICIAL or CUSTOM?

So there was a lot of talk about the 1/12 chrome superhero Stan Lee Pops, and i have heard a lot of different things that have been swaying my opinion on whether they are official or customs. People have said that the paint job is absolutely horrible and the people selling it were not really able to answer their questions very well. SO what's the official word. Is it an official pop or a custom?

I was at the show and I'd say 99.9% custom. I asked and they wouldn't really say one way or the other.

You'd think if these were legit they would have had a big announcement like the super limited metallic, Gold and Chrome ones in 2015.

They are being sold at Stan Lee's booth and are signed by him, so there's no question they are official SL merchandise. I guess you're really asking whether they were they made by Funko or did SL have the plating and painting done, that's a good question and we may never know.

These were released last year and they were raffled off for purchase at Comickaze.

Well the Stan Lee box has a custom Stan Lee Dorbz so I'm sure this exactly the same as that. I think it's pretty silly that people go nuts for Stan Lee stuff but then again I go nuts for plenty of silly stuff as well

I think it's a custom like Casey said just like the dorbz. They still have the boxes with the stickers from last Comikaze and NYCC . They did custom Spider-Man related pops at Comikaze in the past that they had poorly done custom stickers that said 1/24 too. Cool figures just don't consider them official variants from Funko, no release information on the site or otherwise.

I wasn't even aware that they had a custom Stan Lee Dorbz in the box, good info. If they could do that, i wouldn't be surprised if the chrome superhero Stans are customs as well.

So they straight up told you it was custom? I know that Jeremy (Popnoggles) and Nelson from Fugitive looked at it too and both said that the paint jobs were terrible, missing paint on the sides etc. Jeremy didn't buy it cause he said it was really sketchy.

If the were a bit cheaper I would definitely just throw my money to get one but for 1.5k the regular ones will suffice

From what I saw in pictures they are def customs but if they commissioned them for the con and being sold by Stan Lee merch, then basically same as real. Like CaseyJones14 said "it's a bit silly" but if it floats your boat then all power to you.

I would have to agree with the others that it didn't look great. Especially for that price.
