So as a kid of the early 80s I loved the 8 bit style. Stranger Things, TMNT and DC sound awesome. These bring back some old school lego vibes and I can't wait for them.

Mario is in fact 8 bit. That was one of the theory's I was thinking about, since Nintendo doesn't want him in a different mold this design could close enough to make that line.

The PAC man POPs re-released in 8-but format would be cool, or even take some of the retro game mystery minis and make the o 8-bit POPs.

I've been baffled as to why Funko hasn't released these yet (they're the easiest repaints in the world, and they'd sell like bloody hotcakes), but maybe they've been saving these colors for this new line of Pops?

I think I need to see actual pictures and not just cam pics of a slideshow before I make a decision, but that said, it's an interesting concept and I'd love to see where Funko goes with it.

Give me some 8-bit Scott Pilgrim please.

edit: I remember seeing something with this title in our system at work and I had no idea what it meant. Now I wish I'd written it down. Was it a Batgirl? My memory is terrible, if I can find it again that'll be nice.

Honestly I was thinking the same thing. I first thought that when Brian had said they had acquired a license that he's been trying to for years, I was ready to lose it if he said it was Nintendo! Then when he announced the 8-bit line, I was thinking if they ever make nintendo pops it would have to be with this line. Perhaps sometimes in the future nintendo will allow them to make certain characters like Mario, for the 8-bit line

Not sure I'll dig these. The glams weren't that great to me, so I'll have to withhold my opinion until I see them in person. Most likely I'd just get characters I really like, Wolverine, Superman, Flash, Ghost Rider, etc.

I like that Funko is willing to try new things though, like this and the Vnyl line. Bring it on!!

I don't have any good suggestions yet that don't overlap what others brought up, but I just have to say I am SO EXCITED for this line! It's like it was made for me! When Brian announced it at Fundays I was freaking out.

I really like the TMNT ones. Would probably want to see Spider-Man, Groot, and Freddy Funko. Of course, my usual wants of anything Beauty and the Beast, but not sure how they'd translate. Still would buy them all. I kind of think Star Trek TNG would look really cool in this line, but not sure how they'd sell.

I'm really hoping they are flat like Blox, I don't know how they'll look from the side if they're like 10 pixels long. I'm always waiting to judge in person before any final verdict.

Just found this - you're totally right. We were at one of the farthest back tables and it was really hard to see the screen. I think these could go either way. They're definitely SOMEWHAT 3D, but if the backs are just completely flat it might be kind of odd. I guess we'll see!

Yeah, I think for the 8-bit line they should definitely release games first. Obviously the iconic characters should come first: Link, Mario, maybe Final Fantasy!?
