Kubo and the Two Strings

Postby Shandalf_Moon » Thu Dec 22, 2016 6:05 am

With Kubo's DVD release just around the corner for us in England, I started wondering when they might do Kubo POP vinyls.
I'm guessing that they well as they released vinyls for Box Trolls and I'm hoping it's announced in the 12 days of Funko.

Kubo was probably my favourite movie of 2016 and I think the animation in the movie would translate really well into POP form.
I would love to see POP for:
- Kubo
- Monkey
- Beetle
- The Sisters
- Moon King

Haven't seen the movie yet, but we might rent it this weekend, I know my wife really wants to see it.
Not sure I'd get Pops, but I can see how the Pops would probably translate pretty well.

Personally, I think we need more Laika Pops in general. I've been jonesing for some Coraline Pops since the day I knew what Pops were, and ParaNorman would translate perfectly, too. Kubo, in my opinion, is Laika's best of the bunch, and I'm really hoping Funko tries again.

It's a real shame that they Popified Box Trolls, Laika's weakest film by a mile, and because they didn't sell well, they're probably hesitant to make Pops of Laika's actual great films. :(

Pretty much agree with all of this. My wife and I love all of these movies, although I don't care much for Box Trolls and she likes it, something about it just doesn't sit well with me...visually, not sure what it is. Coraline and ParaNorman are great though and I could see those and Kubo being great in Pop form.
