Re: Galactus
If any character was meant to be in a MCC box, I think it's him. Give us a "Cosmic Beings " theme with a giant Galactus and mini chrome Surfer pops... anything else they want to put in would be fine, since the pops would be so epic, it would be impossible to disappoint.

I would love a galactus! Sadly think he falls under the fantastic four universe. Haven't seen a FF figure since first marvel wave.

Marvel does not own the rights to FF or X Men (movies) and unless they are promoting mvoies dont think MCC would do it....

That's what I was getting at

While I think there is some give, like deadpool and wolverine, it doesn't seem likely FF characters will see any licensed toys soon.
There will be a new Hasbro marvel legends X-Men series, so there is hope!

The upcoming Women of Power box has nothing to do with any movie, neither did the Villains box. I would be very disappointed if they didn't make more comic themed boxes. And whether the pop is Galactus, Uatu, or someone else, I think a Cosmic Beings theme is something they must do!

Wonder Woman they are getting the hype going, in the comic world right now Marvel is not promoting Fantasic Four products at all cause they want to promote only the MCU. But yeah I said 12 inches cause 9 inches is not big enough for a dude that eats plantes like Reeses Pieces.

Wonder Woman isn't a Marvel character. And they wouldn't have to promote Fantastic Four to make Galactus. He may have debuted in that book, but he's so much bigger than that now (no pun intended), he's more of a general cosmic threat in my eyes. And isn't there a Silver Surfer ongoing? If he could have his own title, Galactus can have a toy.

I would want Galactus as well, of course I just want a ton of COMIC versions of Marvel characters, especially X-Men!
I'd also be ok if he were 6 inch, otherwise he wouldn't fit on my shelves,

Speaking of cosmic characters, I'd love a Captain Marvel (Mar-Vell) Pop! so much with a Genis-Vell variant. And I think it's obvious that I'm on board with a twelve or nine inch Galactus.

Not sure, but I'm wondering if he meant Captain Marvel and accidentally said Wonder Woman. Either way, he's still wrong about it promoting any movie. The Captain Marvel movie is still over two years out, I think.
But about Galactus- his licensing rights are tied directly to the Fantastic Four. It has nothing to do with how his character is used in the comics these days or since his creation. It has to do with the character bundle Marvel sold to Fox in the FF agreement. Other characters included in that bundle are:
-Silver Surfer
-Kang
-The Skrulls & Super Skrull
While technically Marvel could give the ok for comic based figures if they wanted to (like they have for Deadpool & the X-Men), they seem to be enforcing a temporary ban on all FF related items until something gets worked out with Fox.

Are film rights at all relevant to this? And I mean legally, and not just Marvel not wanting to promote other studios films with merchandise.
Because with all of the X-Men stuff on the horizon, from Sideshow, Hasbro, Kotobukiya and Diamond, I can't see how a Galactus pop would be so impossible.
And unless my memory fails me, which is more than likely, I could swear that there's been a few Galactus statues, busts and toys in fairly recent times.

There is a lot of talk that Fox may get into bed with the Marvel Studios group, especially after InHumans was taken off phase 4..

A sequel looks pretty unlikely, and I think the rights revert to Marvel if one doesn't get made. I can't seem find anything official either way tough.

I think they have so many years to make a new film before the rights could revert back to Marvel

A new FF movie by Fox needs to be in production by 2022, in theaters by 2023. They have 7 years to make another between movies (I believe). So they have a lot of time. However, the sequel was taken off the schedule for now and is NOT in production. Would really love to see Silver Surfer in some capacity in Infinity Wars.

Yessss I was saying this in our local funko collector fb group recently. My ideal list of this subject would be the following:
9"Galactus
9" "power cosmic" gitd exclusive Galactus
9" CHASE Galactus with mini Silver Surfer
Aaaand
12" Celestials, all of em, with glow variants.
Edit: only reason I'm saying 9" for Galactus is because I think the Celestials should be bigger, and I don't think I could fit the whole set if they were bigger than that haha

I don't think there has been a Galactus recently. I picked up the Sideshow Maquette a few years ago. The Hasbro Galactus's were a few years ago. I usually pick up just about everything Galactus (and the hubby is all in on Sideshow & Gentle Giant) and that's the last one I recall.

yes and no
Fox all but nailed the coffin shut because of the shenanigans they pulled with the FF movie franchise. Unlike X-men and Deadpool who are huge money bags comicly and merch wise for marvel. FF is not a big pull and was easily shut off out of spite. Marvel basically made it like the Star Wars EU it exists but just barely.

No what I was saying is that Marvel does not own FF rights so they are not really promoting anything attached to it...if they ever get the rights back for it or work a deal like they did with Sony for Spider Man it will be awesome! There have been hude articles written about the fact that marvel is not promoting FF. Either way a gianbt Galactus Pop would be Fantastic!! (pun intended)

That's actually a really good idea, the SD's are kind of styled like Pops anyway so if they did a larger character (like Galactus) as an SD then he could be displayed with Pops from the same series and he would be in scale!

There is and slated for June 9, 2017 release. The rights would not be just given back to Marvel without some sort of deal. Marvel and Fox did do a deal and are working together for two TV projects Hellfire Club and Legion big deal aperently. And Marvel did annouce three untitled movies first one being May 2020 and then July 2020 and Nov. 2020 so perhaps FF and Xmen are coming to MCU. Wet dreams!!!!

OMG Galactus would be amazing! and yes, anything smaller than 9" (I feel like 12 is ambitious though awesome) would not do him justice.
I've been thinking recently about how awesome it would be to get a Dormammu pop. Guess I gotta wait for the success of Doctor Strange? ^^;;

I've been wanting a Dormammu Pop for a long time. I don't think we'll see him with the first Strange movie. Possible second but I'm banking on the third as he is Dr. Strange's nemesis. I would kill for any Dormammu in Funko form
