Batman Logo Error Question

Postby Speedbyte » Thu May 01, 2014 9:41 pm

Question for everyone that has either the Batman Logo Error regular or chase version. I just received the chase version and I noticed that the JJL sticker on the bottom of the box and also the number stamped on the bottom of the foot are the same. I have JJL 120303 on the box and A128 on the foot. were these an early enough production where Funko used the same number? I notice on my other regular and chase pieces that they have different numbers. Any insight would be greatly appreciated... I would hate to have bought a forgery :(

I believe the box number means it was made in 2012 on March 3rd. 120303

Not sure more then that

Oh and to clarify I don't not believe the chase version is a forgery.

Those markings don't really matter they sell replacement boxes now and chase stickers are very easy to transfer. Besides they made about a billion regular batmans so there are tons of chases available. There is really no need to fake a batman chase.

Did you mean aren't the same?

I don't think the sticker on the box is intended to match the number on the figure. I think the fact that you've noticed other pieces where those numbers don't match, only further supports that. I thnk the JJL number is probably on the bottom of most if not all boxes, and I imagine that each pop figure has a number starting with A.

I have no inside information on how Funko manufacturers their toes, but I'd imagine that boxes and figures are produced in different areas and probably at different times.

Bottom line: I wouldn't be concerned that those numbers do not match.

TL;DR version: I don't think Funko intended those numbers to match.

I dont think the numbers on the box make a difference. I just noticed that the numbers on the feet are exactly the same. where say the robin common piece has a different number on the foot than the robin chase piece. it was a general observation that on the Batman logo error edition (both regular and chase) the numbers on the foot were exactly the same. I thought it odd since every other common and its subsequent chase have different numbers.

Gotcha... something didn't click for me when I had read through your original post... I thought your question was about the number on the box v. the number on the figure; and not comparing number on one figure to another.

I think the difference in numbers on your Robin figures likely means they weren't produced at the same time. Either way, I don't think it's something to be overly concerned about.

Regular Batman goes for $10, chase batman $20. Who's forging these to make no money?

The batmans in questions were the logo error ones. Regular sells for $75-$100, chase sells for $250-$350. Honestly it was more of an observation of what the numbers on both the box and the numbers in the feet of the pops represent :) I had noticed that on both chase and non chase error batman the numbers on the feet were the same. I was curious if everyone's were also the same.
