Quirky Collecting Habits?
I was just curious if anyone else had any quirky habits when it comes to collecting Pop!
I've noticed I can't buy a figure unless it has a "friend", so I typically buy at least two at a time. I know some people are completionists and I don't really have that problem, but I need at least two that go together. I'm noticing because my Boo just arrived and Sulley is on his way, but she looks SO LONELY! haha It's bugging me so bad!

Re: Quirky Collecting Habits?
Just buy the ones I like so not so much quirky as picky.
For example: Love the Star Trek aliens, like the bridge crew, not a fan of the Orion slave girl. Most of that dislike is based upon how much I hate the 'skinny' girl Pop body type. They look like

^ Yes!
I have to have my pieces display in a way that makes sense to me, that's why I was so excited to get my Island of Misfit Toys Misfit Elephant Pop! (besides loving that character). Most of my Pop!s I need to display together in a collection or they feel too random/sporadic for me. I have my Pixars together, my Disney heroes, my Disney villains, etc. My Misfit Elephant lets me feel ok about having a section for random Pop!s I like, but that don't go with a set, because they now chill on my 'Island of Misfit Toys' desk, haha. Like Gir, I want him, but before it would have drove me nuts to get him and put him, all alone, with what, my Disney stuff? Now if I can just find the bugger for a decent price he has a spot waiting!

I like to have the chase with the normal one. but I dont care when it comes to black and white pops. Im scaling back to just SWs and Horror. So my life is getting easier.

I'm usually the same as you. Whenever I'm out shopping for Pop! figures, I always seem to get at least two from the same series, be it Game of Thrones, Mass Effect, Batman etc. I also only tend to buy figures of characters that I like, not every single character from a series. Though, I might change that soon.

Re: Quirky Collecting Habits?
For me, if a character comes in GITD, I won't get the regular version. I find it a waste, as they pretty much always look the same. The only exception is it there is a significant difference in appearance, such as the Gremlin or Boo Berry.
My name is Jared!
I'm looking for the color protos for First Appearance Nightwing, TAS Robin, Robin as Batman, and Carrie Kelley

Re: Quirky Collecting Habits?
I think I lack the discipline to have a 'buying habit'. I just keep picking up anything I like that is within reason price-wise (that's a HABIT I suppose or just the pop-addict in me talking)
I am weak!

Hiya, everyone calls me, well, Turtle.

used to buy anything, now trying to limit to just exclusives and HTF. I would like to complete all Freddy's though I am not into protos for some reason.

And yes, I put way too much time putting my display together. Just re-did my GoT display and made sure Arya was near her brothers but not near headless Ned

Re: Quirky Collecting Habits?
I display mine very specifically. I don't have much space at school, but I have all the Lannisters together, Dany, Drogo and the dragons together, Brienne in between Renly and Jaime, Arya with the Hound, and Ned, Robb and Hodor together. Jon, Ygritte and Ghost are on top of my paperbacks and the White Walker is on top of hardcover ADWD. Sam and Dean float around :P

Re: Quirky Collecting Habits?
I'd say my only real quirky habit when it comes to collecting is that once I start a series of anything, I feel the dire need to complete that series no matter what :P
Like that, the hobbit series is driving me crazy because I can't get my hands on Gandalf with hat, the only one left in that series for me to get.

Re: Quirky Collecting Habits?
Currently, I only collect Game of Thrones pops. Here's how I operate:
1) I'm very picky and only buy my favorites. Quality over quantity.
2) I view ordering online as cheating. It's just too easy and takes the fun out of the hunt.
3) The paint job has to be near-flawless for me to buy it. This adds to the challenge.
4) No duplicates allowed. If there are more than one version, I'll chose the one I like best.
5) I prefer pops with eyebrows, but it's not a requirement. It gives them character.

The other day I bought a Wall-E but since there was no EVE and I wanted to give him a friend I bought a Daenerys Targaryen. Naaaah...
