I didn't even know there were others. I didn't even know what Funko was. At that stage in my life, I barely had any money. I would go to con with my friend who was in comics and he would leave and I would have nothing to do. The rule at con was if you see a line, stand in the line. So, I saw a line and got in it. I asked the kid working the line what it was for. He said Funko. I was like, "What's a Funko?" He said, "Vinyl toys. We've got disney, dc, all kinds of stuff." When I got to the front, I picked one thing I recognized, Blue Suit Mr. Incredible. The rest is history!

My first encounter with Pop!s was on Twitter, Agent M shared a picture of the ,at that moment, upcoming Baby Groot Pop!, I showed it to my wife, and we both thought it was awesome. After a quick search if there were more, I found a site where I could buy them. Long story short, I bought Dark Phoenix for myself and Wicket, Gizmo, and Ghost for my wife. And we have been collecting ever since!

#4 Princess Leia, only got it to add enough money to receive a discount on my Hot Topic order in 2012. Started collecting them all about 6 months later when I realized there were so many other Pops that I loved.

The first pop I ever bought was a Super Saiyan Goku. I am huge DBZ Anime fan and had to have that entire line immediately.

The rest is history from there as they say.

Funny thing is that I was going into comic shops to go on my weekly comic hunts for missing books and keys in my collection. My friend wanted me to look for a Funko Pop of Cousin Eddie from Christmas Vacation. I asked him what in the world is a Funko Pop?

3 years later he is laughing at how far down the rabbit hole I have traveled.

I have a whole story about this . I thought my bf at the time liked Despicable Me minions so the very 1st pops I got was the minions from SDCC 2013, gave them to him as a present, found out after ~1 yr of dating that he was interested in those pops cause he thought I liked them (lol!). Fast forward a few months, we moved to a diff city, packed everything, went to a junkyard to toss our big items and some small items in cardboard boxes. He accidentally threw 1 wrong box, the one WITH those minions packed in them. All good at the end, I married the guy .

The first Pops I ever got were from my father as a Christmas gift back in 2012. He got me the Rudolf set as an impulse buy at Barnes and Noble! I did not think much of them at the time. I was like 'oh...those are interesting', and then proceeded to pack them up when all the other Christmas stuff came down. But when Christmas 2013 came, I unboxed them and saw them with different eyes and have been collecting ever since!

I cannot pin point the exact first Pop i bought as I was holding out on starting to collect Star Wars Pop!s.
Once I decided that I must have them I went to my local shop with a trolley (shopping cart) and filled it up with every Star Wars pop! they had.
I did this at another store as well on the same night. Now that I was broke, I came home with a boot full of Pop!s, laid them out on the floor and my wife couldn't believe it.

0 to about 50 in 1 night.

I'm a bit more selective now.

I just reached 160 Star Wars Pop!s with more on the way.
