I had a tough time with this, because I actually did downsize. There was the love forever pile, really like pile, and okay to let go pile. First and third are easy. The really like pile got worked on for like two weeks before I finally got through it and even then wasn't quite sure. These things take time!

Cutting The Collection to 25 is extremely difficult. I had to think about it for awhile. In no particular order:

1.) FN-2187 - Got me into collecting.
2.) Director Freddy - A keepsake of an amazing night.
3.) Emerald Chrome Freddy - A keepsake of one of Funko’s best events at HQ opening.
4.) Count Chocula Retro Freddy signed by Brian - won it at HQ, and such a memory.
5-8.) Metallic TMNT - Absolutely love the turtles.
9.) Freddy Flux Photon - One of the best Freddy nights representing my first Fundays
10.) Funatic of the Week Freddy - Means so much
11.) Chewie with Porg Proto - Got it with the Funatic of the Week Freddy, and Star wars is my main collection.

Since I already weed out the Pops I don't necessarily need anymore on an annual basis, I thought this would be a super easy quesion. Turns out 25 is a SIGNIFICANTLY smaller number than I thought

I guess I have a few questions. Are we implying that we have to curb our collection down to 25, but can start collecting again once we do that? Because if that's the case, I would just keep my 25 most rare/valuable Pops, since it would be easier to just re-buy the rest of my collection.

Or are you asking for our desert island, all-time 25 favorite Pops in our collection? Because if that were the case, with rarity and value not mattering, my list would look a LOT different. I would keep the figures based on characters who either don't have a lot of merch, who have extra special meaning to me, have special memories associated with them, or visually look the best.

1. Avengers: Age of Ultron Mark 43 Iron Man white Pop proto-It is the ultimate grail version of this pop, and this pop was the very first pop i ever got as a gift from my girlfriend. It is the pop that got me addicted to pops.
2. Avengers: Age of Ultron Mark 43 Iron Man Production Piece-My very first pop and was a gift from my girlfriend.
3. Tales of Suspense #39 Iron Man white proto-It is my ultimate Funko grail of all time, because i love Iron Man and this is the grail version of a pop that depicts the very first version of Iron Man designed by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee.
4. Tales of Suspense #39 Iron Man production piece-Very first version of Iron Man envisioned by Stan and Jack.
5,6, and 7. Classic Iron Man Pop trio (white head proto, all red proto, production piece)- I love this pop, because it is one of the cutest versions of Iron Man ever! Plus it depicts Iron Man's third armor variant in comics, which is a predecessor for what the armor looks like today! The reason why the white head proto is valuable to me, because i built a friendship and earned it. I met him through instagram, he messaged me a question asking about the legitimacy of protos, we kept chatting and found out that we are both funatics. From there we just clicked, and have been helping each other out ever since. As for the all red proto, it is important because it was my very first iron man proto ever.
8. Civil War Mark 46 Iron Man white proto- Signed by one of my most favorite Funko artists, Mike Martin and sculpted by the wonderful and talented Claire. It was a part of the ECCC 2017 charity auction that i won the bid for in person.
9. Civil War Mark 46 Iron Man production piece- I absolutely loved the movie, the Russo brothers did a phenomenal job with Iron Man and all the other Marvel characters in this movie. One of my top five Marvel movies to date. But more so, this sculpt is a perfect depiction of iron man, the lines give him that fierce and aggressive look. His face doesn't just give a blank expression and that's what i like about it.
10 and 11. Iron Man 3 Deep Space Suit Iron Man white proto and grey proto- I just love this pop so much, it is super unique. It is the only iron man pop to actually not have pop eyes. I would want to hang on to both the white and grey protos of this pop, just because they look so nice together and they are considered grail versions of this pop.
12. Iron Man 3 Deep Space Suit Iron Man production piece-For all the reasons above, and the color scheme on the production piece is so so nice.
13. Avengers: Infinity War Hulkbuster- This piece is my favorite version of the hulkbuster. He just looks so lean and aggressive.
14. Freddy Stark Pop proto- I consider this piece the glue that holds together my Iron Man collection.
15. Metallic 1/12 Freddy Stark Pop- It is the flagship piece in my Iron Man collection, certainly the most expensive, but it is not at the top of my list.
16 and 17. Avengers (2012) Iron Man Pop proto and production piece- I love this pop, because it is hands down the cutest Iron Man ever! Also, the first Avengers is one of my favorite movies of all time. Having the proto of this pop, just goes really nicely with production piece.
18. Metallic/GITD 1/12 Mark 6 Iron Man Wacky Wobbler-This piece represents what the Funko community is all about, and the reason it even exist is because of a fellow Iron Man funatic, by the name of Funkystark aka Mike.
19. FDO 7 Pink T-Bone Pop- I love this piece because i can take him with me to korean bbq joints, but primarily because he came from my very first FDO!
20. Comikaze Shirt Stan Lee- I love Stan, and this pop reminds me of my very first con in 2016. It was the last year that Stan's comic con was called Comikaze.
21. Walmart Exclusive Glitter Black Panther Pop proto- I received it in a blind bag at my very first fundays, and it was the very first proto that i ever owned. I was ecstatic, you should have seen me at fundays that year, the adrenaline was pumping for sure.
22. Avengers: Infinity War GITD Asia Exclusive Thor- I loved his last climatic scene in the movie, but the only reason this pop even made the list was because my buddy William Wong offered to help me get it. At this time, this pop is supposedly really hard to get even in Asia, and my buddy took the time to work out a deal with another funatic overseas to score other funatics and myself a gitd thor. He even knows how particular i am with box condition and picked out the best one for me.
23. Thank-You Freddy Pop-This one is one of my favorites, because it glows a bright blue, and it is a testament to how much Funko cares about its fans.
24. Emerald Tuxedo Freddy Pop- It commemorates the official grand opening of the new funko hq and it happened on my 23rd birthday.
25. 1/12 Gold Base Freddy Stark Wacky Wobbler- I love the facial expression and details that this one has, it is also in the classic iron man colors. Another reason why i love it, is because it is a crossover of both of the things that i love, which is Funko and Iron Man. It is depicted in the original funko medium too, which adds to its charm.

Completely agree. During my first downsize I held on to my really like pile months after parting ways with my okay to let go pile. After a few months I realized I hadn’t paid much attention to my really like pile so I decided to part with those as well. From the I really like pile, I ended up rebuying four of them at a higher cost but at least they’re back in my collection.

Regardless, you’re right - it takes time and a lot of thinking.

My boyfriend and I share our collection, and I personally have really tried to whittle down to my favorite lines due to space in our apartment! I think mine would be:

1-5 my Murlocs (Regular, White Murloc, Iridescent, Mur’Ghoul and the Murloc 3-pack). I’ve been playing WoW since beta and my first Con was Blizzcon when I got Murky as a pet. I love that lil’ guy so much!

6-14 Ad Icons (Flocked Tony, both Trix Rabbits, both Lucky the Leprechauns, Sonny the Cuckoo, Toucan Sam, and both Geoffrey’s). They feel so iconic-one day we will get the whole set!

15-19 Ren and Stimpy (both commons, both chases and the Happy Happy Joy Joy 2-pack). I got rid of a lot of pops from my childhood/teen years, but these I just can’t ever get rid of.

20-21 Beetlejuice (the common and the HT Exclusive)

22 Edward Scissorhands. Both this movie and Beetlejuice are just so awesome. I couldn’t give them up!

23-25 The OG Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger and Michael Myers. Huge horror buff. These would change to their chases as soon as I get them!

I think most of the time you don't regret letting go of the really like/not love pile. Even if you had to rebuy a couple, you won't think about the rest again. I think parring down every few months really keeps my interest in the hobby fresh. Plus, I always seem to find old pops I never knew existed and then the game begins on how best to obtain them.

[In the 5 plus years of collecting my collection ranges from pops being the most collected in our home to mystery minis being the second largest then dorbz, pintsize, hikari, fabrikations. So if I had to pick a top 25 funko items it would go as followed.

1. Freddy Leather face- my fiance got this for me and he was my first Freddy.

2. Red Metallic Hulk - was the first metallic pop I saw and freaked about.

3, 4,5,6. The Munsters all 4 - bought for my mom when she had her first stroke. We watched the show together when I was a kid.

7. Black dress Elvira - my parents watched her every Halloween and my mother use to sing the song Elvira to my father in the car.

8. Red Dress Elvira - First Funko event and I didn't win her or purchase her there at the event. I tried offered $300 for her but was declined. So happy that funko put her up in the shop. I managed to snag her and she is very sentimental to me. That pop signifies my parents but also the year I lost my mother.

9.Gid Skeletor- This is Childhood but my favorite Villain of all time.

10- Disco skeletor- Need I say more

11- Gid Mumm-Ra- 2nd favorite villain and me and my nephew use to play with Thundercats action figures every day. Between Gi. JOES.

12. Sdcc Bob's big boy- My god parents ran a big boys so most of my child hood was spent there.

13. Chase Leather face extra bloody Og- took me 2 years to hunt 1 down locally still one of my most coveted pops.

14. Fudo Myo-o - First pop I unleashed because all of his beauty was hidden in the box.

15,16,17,18,19,20 - Rainbow batman from the comics. My first batman set that started my batman collection. Now I'm down a never ending rabbit hole but I love every moment of it.
