I hope someone can help me out too, because that's the only way I'll be able to get anything. It would be nice if people not attending could get the pre-buy also. Then everything would be perfect, and it would be less hassle for everyone too.The only thing would be just getting rid of the stuff in the pre-buy that you're not interested in.

Re: Comic Con & Fun Days UPDATE
Believe me, we've been through this many times before: selling the pre-buy to those not going to Fundays defeats the whole purpose of selling exclusives at comic-con and isn't fair to those who spend hundreds to thousands of dollars and vacation days to attend. Also, many if not most of the con exclusives will likely be available through Gemini, often at cost.

Jake I know patience is not in your vocabulary, but you have to trust us when we say that most everything available at the booth will be available to you afterwards at Gemini at nearly cost and other collectors as well.
You really have nothing to fear.
The pre buy is and always will be an incentive for those attending Fundays, NOT a consolation for those who aren't attending.

Re: Comic Con & Fun Days UPDATE
From what I read, I think the pre-buy is for those attending Fundays. Get all the exclusives and get it shipped to you. At the Con, I think you can buy whatever exclusive you choose to want.
But I agree with Cliff and Ray, the pre-buy should only be for those attending Fun Days, even though I'm not going due to commitments. Just hope that members will be able to help out after. If not, I'm shopping on Gemini or Ebay.

Re: Comic Con & Fun Days UPDATE
For months now I have been asking if pop not going could be included in the pre-buy but after thinking about it today, I hope this isn't the case now. By limiting it to the people who can make it to fd it can keep amount made of these pieces down to a smaller number, which we all of course love. And it rules out easy flippers. If it was open to everyone, it would open floodgates to the point where the limited stuff won't even be limited anymore and it wont have that allure anymore. So on that note I accept the fact that I cant make it to fd this year which stinks, but next year im saying it now, I will be there while my pre-buy would be on its way to nj

Re: Comic Con & Fun Days UPDATE
so is the pre buy for the SDCC items and if so i got into collecting a few months after last years con and was able to get most SDCC for decent prices. to me the pre buy should be for those attending. people not attending have the buy sell trade section here, ebay and gemini and shouldnt have trouble getting what they want. i wont be able to attend but still think pre buys should be for those attending.
howver i have a question for the fundays items. how are those handled. are any for sale at fundays or are they all given out. and if so is it just at random through contests or do people get to pick. ive just never been so i have no clue on how all that goes at fundays and have always been curious exactly how it works.
if its ever on the east coast like at NYCC i would be going for sure but being on the west coast is just too much. i could handle the trip one way but travelling there attending the show and travelling back all in a several day period is just too much and i wish it would change but unless i decide to have my leg amputated i dont see it changing anytime soon. so hopefully in the future maybe it can be held at NYCC but i also understand that SDCC is a much bigger show and i completely understand why its held there.
congrats and good luck to all those going.

Gemini usually gets a few of the Funday pieces as well, but you gotta be quick on the trigger. A few "flippers" usually attend as well, so some may show up on Ebay as well. Others will be traded or sold (usually much more reasonably) here on the board.

So let me see if I get this right. If I attend fundays I can pre buy the sdcc exclusive items without actually having to attend sdcc? And I don't miss out on anything exclusive?

Re: Comic Con & Fun Days UPDATE
OK, please follow:
1. San Diego Comic Con or SDCC is a 4 day comic con is San Diego (with an additional preview night, that you can only attend if you are able to purchase a 4 day pass). Tickets are sold out. You can buy passes from people on ebay or craigslist, but they will cost a small fortune. That said, if your at the con, you can usually find a way into the con.
2. At the SDCC Funko sells exclusive product, these include Bobble heads, pops, blox, etc. And possibly new products. They are all limited editions, usually ranging from 48-1500 of each. There are different numbers for different items. The cost per item ranges from $10-$100.
3. Some of the exclusives are sold at other venders than Funko (such as Toy Tokyo) at the con. You will have to go to their booth to purchase their Funko exclusives, or purchase online.
4. Some items sell out faster than others, some last the entire con, some will be gone by Friday. Funko does try to have some set aside to sell each day, but some times, that just does not happen.
5. gemini does get a lot if not all of some of the items that are SDCC exclusives to sell, but some of them will go quick. The exclusives that Gemini does get usually cost the same as if you purchased them at the con (plus shipping). Gemini usually also gets some of the rare items given out at Fundays also. These will not be cheap.
6. Exclusives will show up on the board for sale, or ebay. If you really want it, unless its a 1 of 1 or a 1 of 3, or a 1 of 6 you will probably have a chance to trade or purchase it. A few days after the con, you will start to see a bunch of transactions on the forum.
7. If you have a Funko Platinum card, each day (Thursday through Saturday) Funko hands out a special gift, usually a rare variant limited to 48. If you have to ask what is a platinum card, you are most likely not eligible for one. Search the forum for more info.
8. On Friday night, Funko holds their annual dinner/party called Fundays. It costs $60 per person. You get food, some drink tickets, some raffle tickets and 3 Fundays exclusives guaranteed. The three Fundays exclusives you get, sometimes come in a box, called a "Box of Fun" or "BOF" The exclusives in the past have been limited editions somewhere around 96-150. Sometimes protos and/or chases are randomly put in the BOF. The Funday exclusives will be Freddys.
9. At Fundays Brian gives away a TON of protos, chases, rare Funko Items (including 1 of 3, 1 of 6, 1 of 12, 1 of 24, 1 of 48), etc. They are given away in Raffles, random draws, prizes, awards, etc. It is a good bet that if you are there, you will get at least 1 item. Be prepared, trading does happen with everyones Fundays haul.
10. The food is usually beef & chicken fajitas, rice and beans, deserts, fruit, pastries, and cheeses.
11. Fundays is awesome. Its a great time hanging out with the other Funatics and geeking out. Brian will give a state of funko address and tell us what to expect in the coming year.
12. If you attend Fundays, Brian offers a Pre-buy. The Pre-Buy is basically 1 of every Funko exclusive being sold at the SDCC, so it is not cheap. As an incentive, if you purchase the Pre-Buy, you will get an additional exclusive(s) made only for the Pre-Buy. This is so that people don't have to worry about trying to ship or carry out a bunch of Funko while at the con.
13. The Pre-Buy is only available for those going to Fundays (at least that is what it has been in the past).
14. Finally, a bunch of Funatics usually go out drinking after Fundays, something I haven't had the chance to do yet, someday though…
I hope that answers everyones questions.
15. It is customary to give the tall guy in a dodgers cap one of your protos.

Will ..

Lol
I'm not 6'6" but being almost 6'5" usually puts me as the tallest or one of the tallest in a room.
I'm usually on my iPhone, iPad, or working, so I use as few words as possible
