Pog check or Bag check?

So my question is…

When opening a soda to check for a chase, do you check the pog first or do you open the bag?

Most videos I see, seems like everyone checks the pog first. I however like to look in the bag first. But I have been known to check the pog if I’m impatient .

Depends on how the pog is sitting in the can. Half the time I go pog, the other half of the time I check the bag first and totally forget about the pog until after I open the soda up.

The people doing pog check usually buy multiples. And try to speed up time for their videos. But if you’re a single soda buyer like me, then you’re probably opening the bag regardless… ha

I like to take the bag out, flip the can upside down and have the pog fall in my hand. My wife and I will do Soda Battles where we both open one and flip them at the same time to see who has better luck and gets the Chase.

I always peak the pog first, but it's definitely not foul proof!

I even have instances where there is not pog inside.

I always look up at the ceiling to avoid the reflecting of the inside of the can, if you see the white shine coming from inside the bag you know it’s a bad day. Then I open the bag and act all confused not knowing what the chase version is, only if it’s like a glitter or something super obvious.

I think opening the bag is way more fun then just looking at the pog for the chase.

I check the bag. I have only gotten multiple of the same Soda twice (Eleven and Vampire Freddy) but I think if I was opening a bunch of the same one I would check the pog after the first one since I don’t need to have multiple of the same common and it would be easier to sell or trade in the bag. Since I only get one though I want to open the bag anyway so bag, then pog.

Always bag first because you get the confusion on "IS THAT THE CHASE???" and for ones that have crazy color changes (example: Fruit Brute pink chase) you can see it peaking out and you go OOOOHHHH!!!!!

Pog first and then I rip the bag open to verify. Like many have pointed out, the pog has been wrong on a few occasions (or missing in others).

Personally I used to be a POG checker first, then quickly found out that not all POGs are accurate. So now I dont even bother with the POG, and just open the piece. Theres something about opening that mystery black bag that just makes it so much fun!

For a first-time opening of a soda, I actually hide the pog from view, and only ever check the bag first! But if I'm on a losing streak (looking at you, Winter Soldier!), I might look to the pog first just to put me out of my misery sooner.

I've never had a pog mis-match yet, thank goodness. I did have an extra pog once, but both pogs matched the soda in the can. Have you been betrayed by a pog??

I'm so glad it's not just me that can't tell, all the time, whether I got the chase or not. Glitter is much easier, but I've definitely had a few where I had to go back to the can art to make sure!

Something I've been noticing lately is that the black bag is almost melted to the bubble wrap inside, making it really difficult to get the figure out. Nothing quite like dragging out the "chase or not?" question while you wrestle with the black bag! If the can itself isn't difficult to open, the bag will get you!
