Question About Disney's Robin Hood POP:

Postby professorratigan » Fri Apr 06, 2018 11:08 am

According to Funko's website, Robin Hood isn't in the Vault, yet he seems to go for high prices on eBay and the like, and he doesn't appear to be available from any retailer. What's the deal with this? I really want this guy, but haven't been able to get him. Why is it he's treated as though he's Vaulted when, officially, he hasn't been? Is it simply because both Prince John and Sir Hiss ARE?

Like you mentioned you can't find him from any retailer so even though he isn't technically vaulted his value is going to skyrocket because of that very reason. There are lots of Pops out there that aren't vaulted, but still ridiculously difficult to find. Good luck in your search!

This.

But that brings up a pretty newbie question that I have: I'm assuming "vaulted" means they're no longer being produced. Does that mean that Robin Hood is still being produced, but just in considerably lower quantities?

That's what I want to know! It seems silly to basically stop making him, without Vaulting him...

That's a good question. My guess is that he still might be in production, but in a limited quantity like you said or still available to be made if Funko wanted to create more. Like maybe there is an anniversary coming up where they would want to re-release a Pop to create hype or something. I really have no clue though so your guess is as good as mine!

Thanks for bring this topic up. It's one of those questions we all have so appreciate the info, thoughts and dialogue on it.

It would be awesome if they decided to produce more for a special commemorative event!

Sooooo...the molds are expensive. I can't see them EVER keeping a mold around to produce limited quantities, that's just wishful thinking. This one's probably slipped past the goalie of whoever maintains the "vault". It hasn't been available for retailers to order for a long time now. It's in the vault, just not noted on the site.

^That's disappointing if so. Really hoping to get this guy. Never saw him at retail (or Prince John). The only one I was actually ever able to order back when these were "new" was Sir Hiss, and I had to order him on Hot Topic's site!

I love all things Robin Hood and it upsets me I misssd out on these.
A few times I had Robin in my basket online for RRP but never pulled the trigger because I knew I would end up wanting Prince John & Sir Hiss.

Now I have none, wahhh!!

Yet another sad and unfortunate side effect of collecting these. So many of these commons by default become chases since we have to “chase” them down

I've found that the Disney Pops have become really popular lately. I had tons when they first were released and traded most of them away. Kicking myself now though.. =(

I would love to see Maid Marian, Lady Cluck, the Sheriff of Nottingham and Allan-a-Dale.
