Agree--looks like you have some nice art that you'll be able to incorporate into your collection display someday. Have to say that I believe you're doing the right thing...that is, collecting what you are able and what you like first, and then focusing on the ultimate form of your display later. The "final" form your display takes will develop over time. It's more important in my opinion to get your more desired Pops! out of the way earlier rather than later, if possible. Keep doing what you're doing; the rest will come; and we'll be looking forward to seeing how your display evolves when you're ready. Most funatics know that with time "small collections" become bigger collections. Stay focused. Stay the course.

That's awesome! I thought it was just a banner pic. I'm trying to do funko lines on individual shelves and like a poster, comic or something to be the backdrop.
For others who are curious, here's the full art.

Still have one more Detolf to build! It'll hold only Game of Thrones, though.

Such an awesome Disney display! Love the background prints... might have to borrow that ideaHad to double take on that White Ranger Freddy
.
The Freddy is a custom my husband won for me at FDO KY! I'm going to print out some pictures of all of us and post on the sides. Reveal in the memories. =oP And I'm totally in love with the prints. I bought them from someone on eBay who I guess has some kind of print shop, and they are better than I expected. Wish I had enough space for the others I have, too. If there are too many more Parks exclusives, they'll eventually have to find a new home. Trying to keep the holes in the wall to a minimum, but I'd love to make little shelves for each Parks Pop! and Ridez. Maybe one day. =o]

donofoblivion wrote:First of all, this is a long--I mean a REALLY LONG post.
I posted a while back that I was converting my Garage into a Man Cave--meaning an exercise/recreational/inspirational room. Even though I like the term "Man Cave", it actually is a space for the whole family. In addition to me and my son Adam, I have 3 daughters who love fun, fitness, Funko, and collecting various collectibles too. Still, it's fun to use the Man Cave label; and it is true that Adam and I especially get a kick out of the whole set-up.
I love seeing pics and videos of other collections. For me, it's the enthusiasm people have for their collections that stimulates and inspires me most. Although I really don't feel that the size of a particular collection is what matters most, I have been fortunate enough to put together a really nice and large collection for our family's home. I use so many pictures in an attempt to convey the scope of the collection--trying to make use of pics taken from different angles, at different ranges, and under different lighting.
I really do enjoy collecting Funko (and other collectible products for that matter). In the process, Adam and I have gotten to meet some very nice people, and overall we've had a great Funatic experience. I hope that most of you enjoy what you see; and please excuse me for the post being so long. I wanted to do a reasonably good job, and have put a fair amount of work into trying to make the post tolerable. I have also included a few past-posted pics too in an effort to connect this post with past ones that I've done; also, I think it' fun to see some of those past pics again too, and sometimes I do make "before" and "after" comparisons. What you'll see is the basic set-up for 3 of the 4 walls of the garage room. There are a few more modifications and additions still to come in certain, designated places--but for the most part you'll be able to get a good idea of the set-up. The 4th wall hasn't really been developed yet, so that one is forthcoming (but it will take me some time). So this is what I've gotten done so far. Hope you funatics like it:
BEFORE--converted Garage with "built-in metallic garage door shelves"
CURRENT/UPDATED (entry door from inside home)
Mark Hamill-signed Walmart collectible that we acquired decades ago. Hung on to it and finally got it signed this year
I have 2 functional Hallmark Death Star ornaments. One is for actual use and sits atop the lamp you see. The other (which was signed by Mr. Hamill earlier this year, as well) is being kept protected and covered as a display only item.
Guess who's behind this dark silhouette?
"I'm Batman!"
Experimenting with placements.
Front right hand corner view of room from its center after entering.
There are actually 2 sets of shades covering the 4 garage windows (I didn't think one set would be enough to block out the amount of heat and sunlight I desired):
The inside-mounted Bali shades are a rust-color and remote-controlled. This set gives the windows and room a warm look (you may notice a difference in some of the pics). The effect is more noticeable on sunny days, especially in the late afternoon and evening.
The outside-mount shades over the windows are Cooleroo and are within the room too. These shades are a greenish color. On filtered light days and at night these show up best. Also, when the rust-colored inside-mounted shades are up, a filtered view of outside is what comes thru.
Still working on the Ghost Rider part of the Pop! and proto collection. I still have some ideas I want to incorporate. Hopefully, I'll eventually get them done.
This pic is blurred from the outside light flooding in; but this is the general 1st view you get when you walk in.
Think it's a little easier to appreciate that this room serves as our family's in-home workout space.
The large central piece is my Prospot weight gym. It's tremendously heavy, and once it has been positioned this thing does not move; it would have to be disassembled to relocate it--and that would not be an easy task. Another feature that I like about it and think is pretty cool is that it comes with a light-up feature for effect.
Another view (with the orange/rust-colored shades down in the day)
Leftward view of Man-Cave. I have several black Husky tool-storage cabinets set-up in the room for my tools, accessories, protos, and for temporary and empty Pop! box storage.
Examples of drawers.
Some of my Batmans.
My X-Men/Phoenix display is on top of the taller Husky cabinet.
Overhead and to their left is Deathstroke.
View and lighting with the orange/rust-colored shades down during day.
Repeat view using a flash.
Closer up.
Behind the workout bench-gym/weight system I've put the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Protos.
Closer, overhead view. I got their display box for I think $13 at Hobby Lobby during a clearance sale. It was a little scuffed-up, but I got some paint to reasonably match, cleaned it up, and now I think it's perfect and looks great!
I have a line of Power Rangers standing guard at the top of the display box. Both teams being from the same era coordinate and work well together in this display I think.
Up and to the left, near the Deathstrokes and X-Men, there is a mini-Star Wars Pop!/Dorbz Ridez display.
Empty slots for future offerings.
I rather like the worn, distressed and dated-look painted wood on these. The color kind of ties in with the rust-colored inside-mounted shades.
There is a 2nd box to the right of the room of this box. I'm planning on putting Sith lords and villains in this one (as they become available). I'm also planning on putting a 3rd box (I already have it) in the middle between these two.
Moving on towards the left of the room.
"To Me My Galactus!"
I got the set of Galactus, Surfer, and Terrax signed by Stan Lee. It would be nice if someday other herald offerings became available--from Funko and from others. They would be a nice complement to this the arrangement. Imagine a Morg, Air-Walker, or Firelord.
My Dallas Breakfast With Stan Lee 2017 souvenir badge. This was when and where I got this Galactus legendary-scale-level Maquette signed.
You may have noticed that throughout the room there are overhead spherical models placed that resemble our Solar System's planets, planetoid bodies, and other objects. I purchased this system on Etsy, and it too is still a work in progress. The models are placed at different positions throughout the room--distanced in such a way from the Galactus figure and the large yellow Sun over his head as to resemble more-or-less orbital tracks with those two pieces at the center.
The view from Saturn and its' 5 moons)
Jupiter is pictured here with one of its' 4 moons showing.
Me and Adam really love the addition of the planets to the space.
This is an old pic-view directed toward the back wall of the room. It displays the very large statue case showcasing some large XM Studio pieces.
I have a really nice centerpiece for the table in mind. Until then, this is what things look like so far.
MAGNETOS AND THE SENTINEL
Yes, I know it's ridiculous--but I do have two Magneto XM Studio statues--one helmeted and one unhelmeted. I didn't plan to do this, but so far as it has turned out, I''ve decided to make this work. I went through a fair amount of effort to get them both signed by Stan Lee. The signatures actually turned out great!
Between the two Magneto figures is a Sideshow Sentinel statue. All three are placed on tables I bought and spray painted in such a way as to make the letter "X" stand out. Again, I think the whole set-up turned out pretty well.
Here is the Sentinel statue with its' lights turned on.
This is a "before" picture of Optimus Prime and the wall behind him--bare. I've chosen this corner-area to station my "Monsters" and "Darkness" arrangement(s). In the backdrop I have counter-emblems and figures that represent hope and light.
And now, a villain with some serious swagger--LOCKDOWN!!!
And he's not alone in that corner either (just imagine "Lockdown's Theme" playing in the background).
(this is the version of his theme song on YouTube that I like the best: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AU0YGX0Thb4&t=235s
Another angle
Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Sherlock Holmes & Moriarty, Once Upon A Time Pops! and Protos
The Burning Zombie is one of the protos that Adam and I received at this year's 2017 Fundays
Temptation
And now--Vampirella!
Gotta trim that loose string at some point (I forgot to do it before I photographed).
This is 1 of 3 true non-production solid Vampirella bronze pieces from Clayburn Moore.
This is the upward view when one is leaving the Man Cave...with the demoted planetoid Pluto overhead and a poster of Darth Nihilus positioned on one side of the exit door. Darth Nihilus is in a frame that lights up around the borders. I have a replacement poster on hand...since I damaged and wrinkled the one currently on display. Eventually, I'll make the exchange.
Looking back.
A few posted pics from the past:
BEFORE--Spiral staircase leading to upstairs balcony, next to Man Cave/Converted Garage
UPDATED/NOW
Kill Bill and Matrix
Wrestlers
Boxers
On the other side of the central upstairs balcony display--Dragonball Z (DBZ!)
I like to listen to Vegeta's theme (Hell's Bells) sometimes while I am looking at or reviewing this section. I like the orchestral and non-orchestral versions of the song--as well as most of Vegeta's Final Flash Theme Song.
Again, basically I found a cheap crate/frame I liked, painted it, and used it to fit my display needs (the window display is actually 2 completely different painted wooden units, one of them turned upside down; but the whole concept worked for my Dragonball Z idea.
BROLY!
View of outside.
MEDIA ROOM (unfinished)--Frontal View
Bowen bronze Batman
Bowen bronze Hulk with gold Stan Lee signature, and Marvel Collector Corps 2nd-year Spider-Man Founder's gift.
Bowen bronze Hulk with silver Stan Lee signature, and Marvel Collector Corps 1st-year Captain America Founder's gift.
MEDIA ROOM--Looking toward back
Some of you have probably seen these displays at Target. This one is housing my Harrison Ford-related Pop! collection.
"Why so serious!"
I, for one, believe that Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker was absolute genius. It has to be one of the most iconic and best villain representations and performances ever!
Pretty sure I'm going to do something else with this particular arrangement--"CONAN AND THE CONANS"...our beloved Barbarian and our mischievous Entertainer! (or did I get that backwards?). I have an idea in mind, so we'll have to see how that turns out later. Incidentally, I am planning on painting the stand that they're on a dark color or black so that it matches the rest of the room.
And last but not least, my Funko Pop!-proto Iron Man display.
What better way to end this than with these signature pieces.
THE END (for now)
Thanks for tolerating this lengthy post. I know it's over-the-top, but I really enjoy collecting and putting this stuff together. I also really do enjoy seeing all of your various collections and posts--no matter the size or level of expense...because as I mentioned earlier when I started this post, it's your enthusiasm that is contagious for me, and that inspires me. So I plan to keep working on this collection, and I am looking forward to seeing what ideas, arrangements, innovations some of you have up your sleeves. Don, first it was great meeting and talking with you in line at Fundays. 2nd your presentation isn't over-the-top ... it's absolutely Out of this World!!! As I scrolled down and looked at the variety, I felt like a little kid in a giant Candy Store. With every scroll down, there was something unexpected and awesome. From Silver Surfer (a classic favorite of mine) to Iron Man, both the presentation and the obvious rarity of those Bronzes ... what an absolutely wonderful journey.
