Mystery Mini Artwork

Great things come in mysterious miniature or pint sized packages, but which great thing will it be? It's all a mystery until you open one. Then the fun begins.

Mystery Mini Artwork

Postby ShyGuyPal » Sat Oct 17, 2015 12:40 pm

Does anyone know who does the artwork for the Mystery Mini figures? I really like the stylization and how it translates into the figures themselves. I'd also love HD images of the artwork. Anyone have anything on it? I'd really appreciate it!

I'm referring to artwork like:

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." - John 3:16-17, KJV

Different artists work on different lines. I know Reis does most if not all of the Walking Dead pieces, but I have sketches from Ben of the new NBC set.

Awesome, a name is just what I wanted! I am reading interviews with him as I type.

One thing that I appreciate about the minis is that they keep a consistent design across the series. Like all the Marvel figures fit in with the earlier and newer figures. Same for the Walking Dead, same for Disney, same for Horror, etc. I was really interested in how they conceptualize the figures and how that translates to the sculpting process, etc.

I don't if this is allowed, but I'm going to link to those interviews I was talking about in case anyone else was interested:

(they were on the first page of a google search, but still...)

I'm also interested in making a custom mystery mini some day trying to imitate the same style. I don't know how, when, or who I'd make, but I'd like to in the future! :)

Hey all, Funko Blog had an entry on one of the artists at Funko who worked on the Mystery Mini series. As someone that's working on sculpting and making my own MM figures I thought it was interesting. I thought I could bring it to attention in case anyone else is interested in knowing more.
