Who did you preorder from? I am leaning towards doing so myself and think I may go with ole reliable in Entertainment Earth.

I preordered from here: https://pccollectibles.com/products/fun ... -star-wars
I got the Spiderman minis from them and they were legit (unopened full box).

I've seen them and they're brutal. Some of those I figured would only be 1/12. Sheesh! Glad I don't collect Star Wars.

I'm not a fan, considering I puled 2 Doc's from my Spidey case, missing out on a harder to find figure!

Re: Star Wars Mystery Minis: Toy Fair Reveal!
1/6 and 1/8 suck! When I see sets with 1/6 and 1/8 figures, I know I'm going to see a lot of boxes with 1-2 figures left that nobody will touch, because everyone figures someone who was weighing or using layouts left the worthless 1/6 figures. And when boxes don't sell out, retailers don't put more out, meaning none of us buy more. It also means savvy buyers would rather buy individual figures out of fresh cases from retailers versus ordering whole cases, because you are guaranteed to get valuless dupes in every case (10 for the price of 12).
I really don't see how Funko thinks this is saving them more on the molds then it's costing them on sales. They have the numbers so I have to assume they know, but as a fan it really dampens my enthusiasm for the product.

BTW... from the ratios I saw out there, it looks like this will break down exactly like the spider-man set. Six different possible case configurations with 9 fixed figures and 3 variable slots. One of the slots will be 1/24 or a dupe of the 1/8, one will be one of the two remaining 1/24s, and the last slot will be for the rarer figures.

I too tried to find the ratio list for this and my decades of web search experience left me with zero information. Is it against some kind of rule to just post the relevant information related to this thread in this thread or do we have to go PM style?

I don't know what this info will do for anyone, but these Minis have an actual strict on sale date in our system for 9/1, along with a lot of other Funko SW stuff. (Ep 8 Pops, two deluxe Tie Fighters) So it might be worth it to keep an eye out then if they don't show up in stores prior to that.

I guess these must be part of Force Friday II, even though they are not Last Jedi characters. That's gonna be one expensive day for me.

Yep, 9/1 is the day an onslaught of TLJ products will be released. It's also the RIP day for my wallet.

I wonder if we're going to have a SW mission or something for it then. We're supposed to get Pops, Minis, and the Deluxe I think. So I'm guessing we'll get other action figures too. I remember one year we had a huge pine table all the way through Christmas full of nothing but SW products. We've got a corrugate up now but it won't be enough.

Yep, Hasbro will be releasing the first wave of action figures, vehicles, ect. that day too. As a collector of both Funko and Hasbro SW merch, it's a very expensive day for me. Even when I try to be as picky as I can. I would imagine everything will be announced in early August, based on last year. Last year the Funko announcements for RO came on 9/1, with Force Friday landing on 9/30. I would imagine they would keep to the one month in advance scheduling again.

We did get an abundance of SW Lego today but I hope they wouldn't send it to us this far out.
But I'll keep an eye out and maybe can give people a heads up about what BN will be doing, if anything, for Force Friday.

Lego is part of the 9/1 street date too, so it's definitely early to be receiving Lego sets, assuming they're from TLJ. It reminds me how Lego has been extremely leaky with their product info this summer. Images of everything they made for TLJ have been leaked already, while Hasbro has only had one thing leak that I recall, when a vehicle was accidentally listed on Walmart's website early. The only leaks from Funko have been the protos given away at Fundays.
I wonder if we will get a TLJ MM set. Since the 40th set is coming out on 9/1, I highly doubt we'd get a 2nd set at the same time or soon after. Maybe later in the fall or around the movie release. I hope if it happens it gets pushed back a bit. I will have more than enough to buy in September already.

When I saw these, the first exclusive possibility that popped in my head was Evazan. I have to assume they would make him if they're making Ponda Baba.
Great to see the SW MMs. The Shadow Trooper is an odd addition, considering they don't appear in ANH, or any movie for that matter. I'm unsure which ones I will try to get. Can't afford them all, will have to be selective.
I read a blogger say the same thing about the Shadow Trooper. I don't know why no one remembers these characters! They ARE in A New Hope! When Darth Vader decides to join the star fight in the Death Star trench, he takes two elite TIE pilots with him. These are the Shadow Troopers.
Googling the name, it appears the title has also been used of other storm troopers in the EU? Something about Imperial intelligence? Maybe that's where the confusion is coming from. Not sure if that's canon anymore.
But the Shadow Stormtroopers in this set definitely appear to be the TIE Fighter pilots with the black armor.

Edit: Apparently this name isn't used for the TIE Pilots. But maybe it is now? I'm pretty sure that's who the mini is meant to depict.

Shadow Stormtroopers and TIE Pilots are two completely different things, with the former never appearing in the movies. The mini is a Shadow Stormtrooper, but a TIE Pilot would of been a better choice.

What I'm saying is, considering the fact this set only includes characters that appeared in A New Hope, I don't think it is true (anymore) that TIE Fighter Pilots and Shadow Stormtroopers are different.
I think it's likely that "Shadow Stormtroopers" as separate things belongs to the Legends area of canon, and that the name for the TIE Pilot is now, canonically, Shadow Stormtroopers.
I think that's a much more logical assumption than the idea that Funko put obscure characters from non-canonical Star Wars books and comics into their Wave 1 New Hope line.

Re: Star Wars Mystery Minis: Toy Fair Reveal!
Canon aside, these look great! But those ratios... ugh. Shadow Trooper is 1/12 but Luke is 1/36 and Vader is 1/72?!? That is killing it for me. Skipping this series entirely, I do not have the dedication to track down 1/36 or 1/72 rares and characters like Luke & Vader would be a must haves for me.

It's probably much cheaper to repaint an existing mold than pay someone to craft a new one. That's why I think Funko is/would be perfectly fine with calling it a Shadow Stormtrooper. There's no way that's a TIE Pilot. IMHO.

I could understand that if they had a similar appearance, but they look nothing alike. The only thing in common is the color.

$7.99 seems a bit pricey for a MM. I guess a I'll wait for Walmart to get them.
