I've seen people mention HT putting particular cases on hold for them, i.e. Anime series 2. Is this something they will do for anybody or do people know the person holding them? I was thinking of asking them to do this for me with an Anime 2 case when they come in.

It all depends on the store/employees. I've gone in to my one local store enough over the last two years that I've befriended the staff and they help me out if I ask. I've also heard that some stores flat out refuse to hold items as well. I think they're technically not allowed to hold items, but it can't hurt to go in and ask them to. As long as you don't abuse the system you should be ok.

Are you planning on buying the whole case, or just going after the few figures you want?

I'm not sure. If I see a full case I may just buy it. I want all of them eventually as I like every series represented.

If it's in store and you ask them to hold it to pick it up that day it's usually no problem. However the one employee you ask might not be working when the cases come in. You can try asking someone to hold it for you but don't be surprised if you get lost in the shuffle.
