Pops that light up and or have sound chips. Views?

I mentioned this a while ago but wanted to see what my fellow Fanatics thought currently:

Wouldn't it be cool if some Funko Pops had a sound chip and or light up features?

Would you pay a bit more and what would your suggestions be? I'd love to see this

To be honest I’m kind of surprised that the Movie Moments line doesn’t currently include either of these. Seems like a given.

I think sound chips sound kind of tacky. They age horribly.

The light up feature would be pretty cool on quite a few different pops I can think of. Not too sure about the sound though.

I think it would be cool to see some of the clear pops with an led in the base so the light shines through them (pops like the recent incredibles violet chase for example). With an option to change the batteries later on.

I’d love to see the light concept come into play! It would only work if there was some sort of way to toggle between on/off (obviously)

However, i’m not too crazy abput the whole sound concept. I used to work at Build a Bear Workshop and had a few people come in to update the sound on their bear. Some either died out cuz of the battery and others just sounded Demonic after time since the recording wore itself out lol

A Pop DX line with sound effects, like a few notes of the indiana jones theme for indy, or a few seconds of the star wars theme, a chip built into the base, especially since the characters are now glued on to the base.

I'd be interested to see a light up pop, maybe with a switch on the base or on the back but I'm not too big on the sounds feature.

I like the glow in the dark pops but that’s as far as I would go in regards to it lighting up.

Light up can be cool. QMX does it for a few of their Q-Figs and it works. Not a fan of sound chips and how they age.

I don't really see the need in it having a sound chip, so I would really not want one with it.

the light up feature would be nice, but I'm not sure on the sound. with how many are produced the quality control could be an issue for either and may increase the price to a point some aren't willing to pay. It'd be cool to see if they could work it out though

Not to sure about the sound part but for a light up feature would be great!

I’ve seen some customs where people add lights to pops and they look amazing! I prefer the glow in the dark for mass production because they’re more timeless. Im not sure about a sound chip, I feel like that gears more towards a toy and strays away from the collectible factor.

They tried sounds with a line of Star Wars 20 years ago. They were not well received at all.

I think the light up feature on a pop could be a really interesting one. Would love to see Funko try it and see what they come up with. As far as sound goes, l agree with everyone else and don't think it's a great idea.

I get and understand the allure of a light up and sound Pop, but i dont think its for me. Like some people said, sound can be tacky if not executed correctly and I like glow vs light up.

I like this idea - probably the only way I'd want to see light up done.

I know there were some talking Wobblers. I wouldn’t mind seeing talking Pops but I don’t think I would necessarily buy them, which I feel a lot of people would be in the same boat.

I'm with you. I wouldn't need to buy one just cause it talked or lit up.

Me and my hunny made a custom Thanos Freddy for Fundays a few years ago and we looked into doing an LED thing for the gauntlet and maybe the eyes but ran out of time. I think some Pop's would look great with this option!

Not sure if I would want a sound chip, but light up sounds cool! It would look sweet on those Freddy Fluxes. Would be great on DJ Sona too. Basically anything that looks like Daft Punk should light up. lol

I've seen a number of light up customs and they generally look great, so I wouldn't be opposed to this... or it can just stay with the talented people with the skills to make such cool modifications.
I'm not sold on the sound though. The talking Snowball is cool, but these chips aren't usually built with longevity in mind.

Yeah, Tres makes some great ones! They seem like a lot of work though, so IDK if Funko would go through the lengths to do them.

Or the added work/materials would make them an undesirable price point, which could create more angst. But I'm always impressed by the ones I've seen in my feeds, so I guess I'm just satisfied to know they're out there even if I can't do or own them myself lol
