Newest HULK PoP Thread! HULK SMASH!

Postby Hauckbuster007 » Mon Sep 25, 2017 10:01 am

I have been a die hard Hulk fan my entire life. Starting with the comic books and then animated cartoons and now into Funko Collecting.

Does anyone think that Funko will listen to our cries and finally create a 6 inch Hulk? If so, what character design do you think they will do when making this new mold.

I guess our prayers have been answered. See below for comment from Brian@Funko

Weird..I keep hearing a 10" Hulk coming soon...

Valid. Definitely appropriate to be a 6". Wonder if there isn't some licensing issue or behind the scenes issue that took precedence here.

Least the new Ragnarok Hulk pops are quite bigger than the previous molds

I cannot see Universal Studios holding some sort of licensing restriction against Funko to produce a 6 inch Hulk. I think this may be a result of Funko stating they were cutting back or limiting the amount of 6 inch Pop figures they are making moving forward.

Totally agree with this. I would like to see both the mold pictured above and the Gladiator Hulk so I could pair it with the Thor.

Yes, the new molds are a little bigger in width and size. My favorite from the new line is the Hulk with complete battle armor and hammer!
That fin on the top of his helmet and the giant hammer are such amazing detail accessories that make this pop amazing.

I wouldn't even be mad if they made the current Gladiator Hulk into the 6 inch mold. It deserves to be recognized larger than life!

Yeah I think this is part of the cutting back part that you mentioned, but at the same time they just recently announced Goro from Mortal Kombat so who knows. I think a 6" Hulk would sell really well so hopefully there is still a chance that he gets released!

I agree. I keep seeing new 6 inch pops coming to the surface and I think there is a big enough Marvel following that cries out to Funko to make a 6 inch Hulk. I can only hope that if and when they do produce a 6 inch Hulk that the mold is spot on!

They could make a World Breaker Hulk that is on a platform that is cracking in half with his powerful step.

That could be a really cool set up. I think Funko tries to make their figures freestanding than do not depend on stands or a scenery accessories.

Which Hulk mold would you all like to see them make next ? These would have to be comic book based since we cannot see into the future beyond Thor Ragnarock. I am sure he will have a new look in Infinity Wars.

I think there is still hope for the 6 Inch Hulk. I know what you mean about the Planet Hulk story and this being the perfect set up for making him into a 6 inch pop.

Funko continues to tease us but hopefully they are listening to us and our request. Keep hope alive and Hulk Smash!

Completely agree! Honestly its crazy I haven't seen a 6" yet.. One of the all time classic "big guys", you would think they would have multiples by now.

I couldn't agree more. When you have other Avengers reference this character as the Big Green Guy there should be no question that he doesn't get a 6 inch figure of himself.

Let's go Funko ..... The Verdict is out and we must have one!

I was under the impression they were slowing down on 6" figures. Still doing them, just in a smaller capacity.

For me, the biggest reason they don't have a 6" Hulk is because they historically have always made him in the 3.75 scale. Randomly introducing a 6" hulk would be weird from a design standpoint.

At the very least, he should be 4.25" like Cthulhu and the new Beast.

Scott,

I understand that logic with keeping the trend around the 4 inch scale to match previous molds but I think they are missing the boat by not making him on a bigger scale. I think this would generate a good amount of sales and interest around a production of a 6 inch Hulk.

I am even okay if they wanted to test the market on a 6 inch Hulk making a limited edition Comic Con pop to see the interest it would generate.

Here is a great reference chart for a possible lore driven reason for not having a 6" pop... since most 6" pops are saved for things that are on the 10-foot scale or higher

I think the only thing that makes it weird right now is that the Hulk Buster is a 6".....

Scott,

This is a great reference tool for height and reasoning behind Funko's Logic. However they did make Hulkbuster into a 6 inch pop which debunks your theory but that might be just a one off fluke. Groot was made into a 10 inch pop. I understand he is taller than Hulk but he got an extra 3.5 inches on the Target special.

Why can't the Hulk get an extra 2.5 inches of Love ?

Awesome! This is great news! I can only hope that Brian will find it in his heart to think of the Hulk as a special character as he stated in his post thread about who deserves the 6 inch glory!

In the mean time I will be patiently waiting in the hidden mist for the 6 inch Hulk to make his debut.

I don't know the reason behind it, but hopeful that it changes. I have passed on previous Hulk molds waiting on the 6" version. On my shelf, it seems weird to have Thor and Holk essentially the same size, when this isn't depicted in the films these Hulk molds are based on.

The groot though was also a "life size" special edition Pop.

Hulkbuster is taller than Hulk.

And yes, the 10" Groot was Baby Groot scaled to lifesize proportions, not the adult Groot scaled to the 6" Pops.

It's all so confusing. Can you see why I think there should be a 6 inch Hulk when they make baby Groot into a 10 inch pop ?

I guess since they set the bar so high with the baby Groot as a 10 inch pop what will the adult Groot get ? 20 Inch pop ?

Yeah idk why they decided to do Buster in a 6"... kinda weird!

The groot though was also a "life size" special edition Pop.

Maybe in the Infinity Wars we can get a 6 inch Hulk or a World Breaker Hulk. He becomes larger than life in that comic book run.

Does anyone think that Funko will listen to our cries and finally create a 6 inch Hulk? If so, what character design do you think they will do when making this new mold.

I wonder the same thing, too. I'd absolutely love a battle damaged 6 inch Hulk Pop.

Mister Piggy Wiggy, You are speaking my kind of language now.

6 inch battle damaged Hulk would be amazing. Perhaps throw in a little regeneration ability in there as well.

How about the Hulk spitting out a Bullet that he catches in his mouth with his vice like teeth!

I still think we should have gotten a 6" Cthulhu lol. Our dark master gets angry when he doesn't get respect.

I wouldn't leave too much space on your shelf waiting for this 6 inch Hulk. It might become rather dusty up there. Perhaps in the mean time you can fill the void with a 4 inch version you like the best of the Hulk so far.

I feel that the Gladiator Hulk with Battle Armor and Metallic Compound Hulk are my favorite pieces made to date.

I can totally respect this as well. He might deserve a 6 inch pop before the Hulk considering that he is a giant monster like God that lies dormant under the sea waiting for the days to rise up and consume all of mankind.

I believe that Cthulhu can stand up vertical in the middle of the ocean which would probably make him around 1000 feet tall. This is Godzilla Status

Let me clear up a few things I've seen in this thread.

1.) Funko knows we all want a 6' Hulk, he's been a part of multiple polls, but why they haven't yet nobody knows.
2.) Universal's rights are for Solo films and the theme park ride ONLY. They have no say in merchandise.
3.) The 10' Groot is a poor example of comparison, because it is intended to be a 1:1 scale version of Baby Groot, not as a point of reference to other POPs.

I agree that Hulk 101% deserves a 6' interpretation, but I like feeling important, so I thought I'd say some things.

Classier,

Thank you for your clarification on those certain highlighted items in the thread. I too agree that Universal has little to nothing to do with this issue at hand but more to do with priority of which character is deemed worthy of receiving the 6 inch recognition.

The Groot was a poor example with the 10 inch comparison. It was more being tossed in there out of spite that Groot got a larger than life presentation over one of Marvels Top 10 most iconic characters.

I am still in hopes of Funko making this a reality one day. I must have one in my life. If Funko does not make one I might have to commission one out to be sculpted for me. Hopefully I do not have to result to this ending.

I'm not sure why they would hold out, considering that Thanos got a 6" figure. I guess we should wait and see how they compare the two in size for Infinity Wars, then work from there.
