whats the first pop you ever bought?

hi guys im new to the community and i started collecting 2 weeks ago. im just curious to hear peoples origin stories. My first pop i bought in chicago from a comic book shop and it was the GITD Dr. Manhattan. I just wanted it cause of watchmen. Its one of my favorites.

The first pop that I ever bought was actually the first pop i got signed. It was the Enter the Dragon Bruce Lee pop and was fortunate to get it signed by Shannon Lee her self. That pop will never be sold!

I bought a Batman pop first. Years ago. That was before collecting really. The pop that got me kicked into collecting was the Joker Batman from Loot Crate.

My very first pop was Mark 43 Iron Man from Avengers: Age of Ultron. My girlfriend bought it for me, i do not remember the first pop i officially bought myself though.

My first Pops acquired were: Dracula, Sharknado and the GITD arm Groot. All gotten in monthly boxes like Lootcrate and Horror Block. First one I ever bought deliberately was Frank N. Furter.

The first one I wanted was Severus Snape, and I asked for him for my birthday. Between the day I asked, I decided I wanted Cersei Lannister (second version), Danaerys in the white dress, and the Iron Throne. I put those in my office and said my mood could be ascertained by whichever queen was currently sitting atop the throne. Then, I decided I wanted Tyrion with his goblet...then a Mr. Bean custom, then a Xena custom, and then I ended up here today. Now I keep adding shelves to my home office for Pops, and am rapidly running out of wall space! :eek:

The first Pops I bought were for my boys. I had no idea what Pops were but I was just looking for anything DBZ for Q. Then since I was getting Q a couple Pops, I had to find some that P liked. Q's first Pops were SS Goku and Vegeta. P's were Gunter and 6" Baymax.

But then Funko released Doctor Who Pops and it was just all downhill for me. The Tenth Doctor with 3-D glasses was my first Pop.

I was planning on buying the entire GoT line but got laid off from my job before she even showed up in the mail and didn't buy another one until the Doctor Who line started.

October 2013, I saw the Goonies Pops at Forbidden Planet in NYC for the first time. I had been eyeing the Star Wars Pops for a while but didn't like that they were bobbleheads (at the time I didn't realize why). But once I saw they had The Goonies I had to get my favorite character from the film, Mouth.

The first Pop! I ever purchased was the Dr Strange SDCC '16 exclusive from Amazon. It was towards the end of October 2016 and at first that was the only one I wanted and din't think I'd really get into these "toys"/collectibles.
Well next thing I know fast forward to today and I have 217 Pops, 34 Dorbz, 6 Mystery Minis, 27 Pint Size Heroes, 8 Pocket Pops, and 2 Protos!!! I don't plan on stopping any time soon either

SDCC V for Vendetta because it was one of the only things that you could buy as far as merchandise from that movie. I also got the SDCC Cheshire Cat and a bobble head Joker pop that year. It would take one more year with the metallic Ghost Rider for me to fully fall in love with Pop figures.

My first pop was Doc Brown with jumper cables from Loot Crate. "Technically" the first pop I bought was Morbius because I ordered the MCC box a while before my wife and I started collecting or had anything Funko related at all but that came a couple weeks later. The first time we went hunting we picked up Metallic Daenerys and Drogon, Chewbacca, Wonder Woman, Darth Vader, Claptrap and the Borderlands Bandit. I think that everything from our first hunting trip when we didn't really know what we were looking for or where to look for them lol

Had to go back through our photo archives to remember where but my 1st pop was Nightwing that I bought @ Fandomfest in Louisville KY. I'd resisted buying him--though he was my favorite character--at a Wizard World earlier that year but couldn't pass him up again. My wife picked up She-ra at the same event, and she obviously got the better "collectible". We each picked up 2 more Pops before we left I didn't become obsessed until The Force Awakens collection came out. Now I'm the old man scouring TRU, Walgreens, and Hot Topic on a regular basis
