What Pop line was your first? And what do you collect now?

Hi all,

As title says I am curious which line you started with? What got you into collecting Pops, and which do you collect now?

For me it was all about Harry Potter, I only became aware of Funko Pops when I saw Harry Potter ones and had to have them. That was a year ago, I now have every single Harry Potter Pop! and as a mega fan will continue to collect them all! - you may have guessed this from my name

But it quickly spread out of control (very addictive this pop business)

I collect:
Harry Potter (100% + Newt Scamander)
Disney
Star Wars
Supernatural
Buffy
Firefly (think I am at 100% now, as there are not many)
X-files (only four got them all)
Sherlock (think I am missing about 4)
Other random film ones I like (have all the shrek ones for example).

AND I am contemplating collecting the Doctor Who ones!

The Marvel line was my first, I doubt I'll ever be at 100% because there are just so many and I really only collect what I love.

I now have a small Star Wars, and Freddy Funko collection as well!

My first pops line was marvel as well. And I'm far from getting there but have spread out to different lines and genres now.

My first POP was DC. I was in B&N and found Batman, Joker, Penguin, & Riddler. That was my very first purchase.
I had recently sold most of my collectibles and was now in a place to try and start a new collection. POPs were different, cute, reminded me of a Mighty Mugg a little, and cheap
I originally decided only Batman & his villains (or things related to those two). Now I pick up DC, some Marvel, TV, Movies, Disney, Sports, Animation, Rocks, Games, and others in between.
This includes multiple lines now! Originally it was POPs and POPs only. Now I have POPs, Dorbz, Mystery Minis, Fabrications, Rock Candy, Vinyl Vixens, Cupcake Keepsakes, Blox, Tees, Pins, and Rides.
And the fun just keeps coming

My very first pop was Cyclops from the X-Men, which was fitting since watching the animated series was the final, like, catalyst to get me into comics in the 90's. After that I just kind of began to pick and choose what I bought. 80% of my purchases fall into three things: superheroes (Marvel and DC), Disney animation, or TV shows. I have a few Star Wars pops but I'm not consistent enough in buying them that I'd call it a main line for me.

I just can't seem to stick to any one line though. I end up buying Pops I like for my favorite characters. It makes it kind of difficult to keep up with new releases if they're all showing up at once. I want to get more HP and DW pops though. Those are two franchises I love that I haven't given enough attention to yet.

My mom bought me the 4 turtles several years ago, but I didn't really get "serious" about collecting until last year. I'd say my biggest line right now is GoT, but my biggest obsession is Dorbz.

My daughter gave me an Xwing Pilot Luke, and that started my SW POP obsession. But my main.. .gotta have em all is Iron Man. But i collect pretty much everything... pop movies, dc, marvel, got, twd, just about everything.

I've always collected an assortment. Started with Batman, Han, Gizmo and Freddy Krueger. I still collect any from stuff I like which continues to be a lot and a variety Biggest focuses (as in I need them ALL) though are Game of Thrones, Whedon-verse, Jim Henson titles and Horror.

Doctor Who is what got me into collecting Pops. I am a huge Whovian. I had bought some Pops for my boys for Christmas the year before but I really didn't know at the time what a big deal they were. I just thought they were cute and were characters who my boys were into.

Well, that of course exploded into many Pops in our house now. Not quite 100 but darn close (98).

I collect: DW (close to a completionist on these), Orphan Black, Harley Quinn/Joker, and Daredevil.

Q collects: DBZ (he's close to a completionist on these) and has one Star Wars (Jawa) and a couple Marvel, loves Ant-Man.

P collects: Deadpool (he would love all of these too, except the "color ones, they are weird"), Star Wars, and he has a few other sporadic fandoms (Big Hero 6, Sharknado, Gunter from Adventure Time).

My first ever Funko items were Jay and Silent Bob, POP Movies. We got them off Amazon a few weeks before Kevin and Jason were due in our city for their weekly podcast, got Silent Bob signed

After that, I moved to the Fallout POP Games line. Easily one of my favorite IPs and game series.

I stick to mostly Movies, TV and Games.

Loved reading your responses! It seems it was Marvel for most of you! I have mostly stayed away from Marvel and DC, I have a couple (unmasked iron man and blackest night superman).

I forgot about Game of Thrones oops! Collect those too but only have 8 I think!

I am only collecting Pops exclusively but got a couple of Dorbz in subscription boxes (Star lord and Iron Man)

Come to this game quite late really! Only became aware of Pops just over a year ago when I saw the HP ones, and bought the first of my HP ones almost a year ago to the day. In the last year seem to have grown in popularity here in UK with some highstreet shops stocking some pops like HMV and Game (albeit very overpriced) Previously only seen them online.

Marvel was my first. I remember always seeing the Marvel Pops at B&N years ago and thinking how awesome they looked. Wolverine and Iron Man were my first two.

I still collect marvel, but also have DC, Star Wars, some Disney, and of course Freddys.

I don't remember my very first Pop, but the first series I got serious about was Walking Dead. I eventually completed the collection and have maintained a complete collection of them as new ones come out. I also have a complete collection of Harry Potter, Pop Rides, Dorbz Ridez, and a lot of the smaller series like Futurama, Fifth Element, Dark Crystal and such. Mostly I just collect what I like (I have something from darned near every series), the series that I am a completist on are exceptions because I absolutely love them.

My first line was the Heroes (DC) line. I started collecting them because I was into collecting DC items. I'm still collecting the DC line, filling any gaps in the list. I've also branched out to DC TV, Ghostbusters (the original), Doctor Who (huge fan) and any Cartoon Network cartoons: Adventure Time, Steven Universe, Regular Show.

My first Pop was Master Chief from Halo. I was at TRU looking for something to display in my room. I thought it was cute and bought it. Had no idea what it was until a little later

What do I collect now? Anything that looks nice and I want to add to my collection. I'm really picky, but I don't focus on any particular lines.

The only line I'm really invested in besides Disney now is Sailor Moon. I'll buy the occasional pop from other lines, like Harry Potter, Once Upon a Time, but I don't have any dedication to getting them all. I am getting the 4 Golden Girls, but I wouldn't buy any more TGG pops if they made variants, so...

My first pop were two actually on Christmas, Gertie from ET and Rico from Madagascar penguins. But Gertie was the first one I actually wanted and made me repeat for weeks I wanted until my bf bought it :P (I knew if I started buying these I wouldnt stop). At first I wanted just my very favourite movie characters but right now I am collecting a bit of everything, but I still do not have a full line of any (there is always a character I do not care about...)
At this very moment I'm into buying the Willy Wonka new pops and the Star trek ones

My first two were Dracula and Sharknado through a couple subscription boxes, then I got the DOTD Jack and Sally for my ex-wife. Rocky Horror was the first complete line I got, followed by Bioshock. Now I have a motley crew from a couple GIRs to two Hannibal Lecters, to all kinds of random stuff.

Strangely, I haven't tracked down a Jason Voorhees Pop yet. It really should have been my first...

The first line I started collecting was Guardians of the Galaxy, I think my first POP was Rocket Raccoon. I have the entire line of commons except for Thanos. I only have the Holiday Groot exclusive. The other lines I have started collecting:

I also have some other Marvel but only characters I really like. I have the GI Joe line (including the exclusives), most of Family Guy, I don't intend to buy Ray Gun Stewie, and a few random movie characters (Ted, Dodge Ball).

I saw the three Ad Icons Pops on a toy site for Transformer collectors and thought wow those are cool but never got them right away about 4 months later I was in a candy store and saw them so I picked up the set and then off the races I went hitting up different comic shops and hobby shops and I bought 46 Pops my first day! You could say I was addicted!

Got into Pop!s when I found out they made Muppets. Grabbed all of those ASAP and that eventually snowballed into other lines. Then I realized I had too much and sold the majority of my collection. I still buy the occasional Pop! when it's something really special to me, but nowadays I'm mostly into Dorbz and Mystery Minis.

Marvel for me, as well. My intention was to only collect Marvel, but I've made exceptions for complete sets of Vikings, Harry Potter, Where the Wild Things Are, Toy Story, Inside Out, and The Little Prince. As you can see, I've made a lot of exceptions. I also collect DC pieces that I really like sometimes.

My first pop was a Nick Fury because I was seriously hyped for the 1st Avengers and thought he looked cool. To this day, my main goal is still to have at least one of each Marvel character. Variants get crazy really fast but as long as I have some version of the character...I'm okay.

My first Pop was Captain America from the first Avengers movie, which I believe I got 4 years ago. I got it for free from redeeming points I had on my Disney Movie Rewards account. Now it's my most valuable Pop. It wasn't until late February of this year when I got really hooked when I walked into my local Hot Topic for the first time in several years and saw a big wall of Pops. There I saw the HT exclusive Peggy Carter, which I just had to have, being a big fan of the TV show (RIP ). After that I couldn't stop. Over the last few years I would only buy 2 or 3 a year. I liked having them, but they weren't a big priority. Funko wasn't on my mind all the time like it is now. My collecting focus is on the Star Wars and Marvel lines, but I also like to buy the occasional GoT or DC Pop. This summer I had a major focus on DC because of my interest in Suicide Squad, but otherwise normally I would buy very few. I only have 2 non-SS DC Pops, Wonder Woman from BvS and Harley Quinn from Arkham Knight.

First Pop that I bought was either from Supernatural or The Walking Dead. My main Focus is on Star Wars. Im only missing a few the big ticketed SDCC ones (arrived to the game too late, waiting for these grails to drop).

Like a few other people here, the Walking Dead Pops got me into Pop collecting. I started with that and Game of Thrones but at one point I sold off whatever I had from both lines because there were too many to keep up with. I just recently started rebuying some of the ones I had, but staying mostly with characters I like over being a 100% completionist.

It's really a miss-mash of Pop now which sucks because I'm constantly behind on buying commons. Too many exclusives always coming out so I spend alot of time staying up-to-date on those first.

I first started collecting the Marvel line. Then I started collecting some favorites from the Movies line. Now I pretty much collect all my fandoms. I don't think I can completely finish one specific line as I just have too many fandoms and favorites from those fandoms.

I have been focusing more on the Games line though as I'm a pretty hardcore gamer. And I've also been focusing a little on Dorbz and some Disney.

I started off with the Hannibal TV series set (surprise, surprise). Actually, I started out with just normal Will Graham and Hannibal Lecter, and later added the others. Now my biggest collections are The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Disney, Supernatural, and Doctor Who. I collect random Pops from other TV/film sets, like the Outlander TV series Pops, or the Sherlock TV series Pops, for example. Also, I just started collecting Marvel Pops, which I feel like is going to be a big regret down the line because it's a massive series of Pops.
