Walgreens Star Wars Exclusives News-RIOT SHIELD UPDATE PG 19

Good news all- finally have a suspected arrival date! I am not sure what the Pops actually are, as we have a separate listing for "Star Wars Episode 7" (Those are expected to arrive 10/27/2015 - Will look into Ep, 7 ones later. Our system lists 13 different UPCs for those!)

Don't start freaking out yet! Still a while from launch but I figured I would keep this thread for any updates I can share.


Things I know so far:
-4 different styles (upcs 84980305445, 84980305446, 84980305539, 849980305540)
- WIC Number: 907618 (Use this if you have someone ordering for you)
-Not every store will have the same arrival date, depending on location and warehouse demand
-All 4 are linked in the system as the "same" item, so if you plan on ordering less than a case of one, you may end up with 5x of the same design
-My warehouse says the "earliest" ship date is 8/10/15 but currently none in stock yet
-Projecting my store will get 1 case in the initial distribution, but that my be because of our higher than average success in selling pops. Second Distribution I am getting 14 cases
-Suspspected arrival date for my store is 08/27/2015, with a second shipment coming 10/21/2015 (Remember this is relative, add or subtract a week depending on some factors)

No details on how many per case or anything like that, so I will share as I can access that info

This is probably bad news for me, considering I don't think Walgreens near me even got the Spiderman exclusives. I was talking to a Hot Topic employee, and he was telling me there's one customer who can't seem to find any at Walgreens as far as exclusives go. I'm crossing my fingers, though. And hopefully I'll make a friend who will help me look. ;D

Given that the 2 Walgreens here still have yet to get the Marvel exclusives I am not hopeful I will ever find these here.

Cost is whatever Funko charges us to carry them, so the retail is the price you pay (which also varies by store). Still some good profit on in, that's why I hate people selling them for $10+

Hahaha... that $4.50 is nothing.

Mobile companies, Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile stores pay roughly anywhere from $0.32 to $0.67 for the 3 pack of screen protectors and then sell them for $15 + typically depending on the phone. The mark up on them is insane.

I also want to *hope* that because the Marvel exclusives being so successful, the buyer would purchase more to fulfill all stored needs. We will see. My warehouse alone has nearly 4,000 units to fulfill alone.

Between where I live and surrounding areas (including Vegas) I have found 1 in all the stores I've searched. Haha.. its bad

Thanks Ashley for the info. I have 2 Walgreens by me that do sell Pops unfortunately they normally only carry 3 or 4 at a time, but I'll be checking

When the Marvel exclusives came out all I could find and still can find at my local stores are Dancing Groot and Frozen. I got lucky and me and FlashInfinite helped each other out and went searching a few days and found all but the Black Suit Spidey(atleast for me). I did enjoy the hunt from store to store

My guesses are, the new stormtrooper, the new Sith Lord and 2 of the new younger characters. I don't believe we'll see old man Solo or old man Skywalker. If we did, they'd just be the normal Luke or Han with wrinkles. haha.

Like everyone else here though, the Walgreens in my area sucked when it came to the Marvel Exclusives - they only got in two of the 4 and those were even hard to find. I don't hold out much hope that they will get in all of the Star Wars exclusives at the stores in my area, so I will have to rely on my friends here on the forum to help me keep my SW collection complete...

I told my boyfriend about this yesterday and he groaned. Yup. There are a lot of Walgreens in SoCal but there are also a LOT of poachers and collectors. For me, it's getting to these stores before the poachers do. Here we go again...LOL.

Good luck to all of you hunters, thankfully I don't collect Star Wars, so this won't be as stressful as it was trying to find the Marvel ones, which to date, I still haven't found in stores. Wheeeeee....

I give up on Wallgreens exclusives (in terms of finding them in the wild). I will just pay the eBay price to save me the time, gas and emotional disappointment. Then when I'm in a Walgreens I'll check, but that's it.

I had a hunch for a long time that the wholesale costs were about 4.50 and they doubled the price for retail.

Only makes me wonder how munch the actual production costs are...Cents on the dollar I would imagine. What a great business to be in and Funko deserves this success!

That's at least the cost for Walgreens so its pretty generic. I would assume wholesalers who purchase more of a "lot" get a better buy. Plus the mom&pop comic shops that sell them for like ~15 but only a handful at a time probably have a higher cost.
