Re: Your most rare pop vinyl
I think the rarest pop in general are the orginal CWO if you can find one for sale you would be looking at about 600-1000+ and 1/12 Freddy batman has been selling for around that too lately. I don't think nothing will top that but the blue hair Freddy trooper might be a close third.

Same here, I picked it up when it was released at NYCC.
I'll be honest I'm not sure the criteria to go with on this topic, maybe I'm thinking into it too much. Do you mean rarity? Because that's written into the edition size. Do you mean the pop you have which is most sought after by collectors? Or do you mean ones that you got the best deal on? Like the FP Batman.

Re: Your most rare pop vinyl
Either Jon Snow Beyond the Wall or Daenerys with the gold dragon. Not really rares in any stretch of the imagination, but still less common than the regulars I suppose :P
Just out of curiosity, how do people know a pop! is rare/going to be rare when they come out? Are they like special limited edition at conventions or do they announce a certain edition will be limited in stores?

Re: Your most rare pop vinyl
If you find one at a retailer like B&N, Target, your local comic shop or Hot Topic, it ain't that rare. Some may be harder to find, but that's what eBay is for. To give you some kind of perspective, there used to be a 'fun fact' in the site header that said Funko has sold about 10,000,000 Pops to date. Quick, down and dirty math translates that to an average of 20,000 per piece (10M divided by 500 individual releases - it ain't exact, buy it might help you define 'rare')
There are exclusives, which usually have a sticker on the box saying they are exclusive, and those edition sizes can run from a couple of hundred to 2500 pieces. Several people have tried to keep lists. It was kind of hard to do this year with about a bazillion retailer/convention exclusives released.
There are pieces that they do for SDCC, which are sold on the floor. Those editions run a couple hundred pieces.
Then there are Fundays. This is where your find your Freddy (company mascot) pieces. There are common Freddys (anywhere from 96 - 480 pcs) then there are the limited 1/12 Freddys.
After that are prototypes (protos, test pulls-if you come from a vinyl toy backround). Those are usually a couple all white and a handful of color pieces. Those can be given away at Fundays or you might get lucky on Gemini Collectibles.

Squird covered it pretty well. There are also the production or paint rejects that don't get approved for mass production. Those are going to be rare as well.

So basically, the ones with stickers on them are produced in limited quantity and have the potential to end up becoming rare?

NO! NOT MY POINT AT ALLL!
I think you've confused the words 'rare' and 'sought after'.
An edition size of 2500 (many of this years exclusives) is not that rare. Stan Lee is a total edition of 5000 pcs, that's hardly rare at all. If you want a Stan Lee, you're going to find one. But because it is San Lee, and it's 1000pcs per show for five shows, getting THE Stan Lee that you want might cost you about 50 bucks. Sought after, not rare.
Loki, one of the first really 'Hot pops' was produced in smaller quantities than his big lunk brother Thor. One day, EVERYONE decided they had to have a Loki and the price shot up. There could have been several thousand Loki's out there, hardly rare, but everyone wanted one.
I never, never, never see 'Adventure Time' in stores so it must be 'rare' right. But aside from Gruppet (sorry Grup) I don't know of anyone desperate for new Adventure Time pop. Therefore, no one's bidding 100.00 per piece. Probably rare but not sought after
You're going to have to take the time, do the research, and get informed. DO NOT PAY BIG BUCKS ON THE BASIS OF A STICKER. You're really asking the wrong person about the value of 'stickers'. I hate that discussion and I routinely ridicule people for worrying about the stickers on their boxes.
Worry less about getting 'rare' or 'valuable' pieces and concern yourself with building a collection you, personally, enjoy and value.

Re: Your most rare pop vinyl
I'm going with what Stephe said. I've grown tired of people going crazy about stickers and asking about their rarity. A PX Batman is not worth $400. If someone offers that to you, look it up on here or ebay, or anywhere else.
POP! has gotten very popular this year so some limited pieces have shot up drastically in value this year. You can hear stories about people looking back and regretting buying a gold loki for $50 cause people are now willing to pay upwards of $300 for it. It's partially supply and demand. Lots of new collectors are trying to catch up and many are willing to pay whatever amount it takes to acquire some pieces.
Like Stephe said, buy what you like and don't worry about rarity. Who knows what will happen to this market 2 or 3 years from now. Look at Beanie Babies. Not saying Funko will end up like that, but this line may fade away in due time.
Back to the original question though, I'm also going to choose my Superman Bobblehead Chase. Aside from Carol and Brenda, I don't know of anyone else that has one. I'm sure there are a couple more out there though.

Re: Your most rare pop vinyl
Personally I treat this collection as if it's worthless to other people and the only way i'd get rid of my stuff is by throwing it away. Do I still want it? Would I be okay with paying the high price? If so, then it's worthy of being in my collection. I don't like selling things and have certainly been "taking my time" to thin out my collection. If you plan to keep this collection for life then I'd say expect to see these prices drop eventually. Time changes, Funko will create a new hit product and move on to focus on those. Just cause Pop goes away doesn't mean Funko will. You can only make the best decision on what you know now, not what you will know in the future.
I remember when I started and I saw all these people with such rare pieces. I thought I'd never get any, or be as cool as them. But here I am a year later where I can actually answer this question with a few pieces. It surprises me what a year can do, this point last year I had but a few Star Wars pieces and was avidly searching for Han. Lol, good times...
My favorite and perhaps rarest piece is the Green Lantern Chase Bobble-Head. Thanks Mark, I never would have gotten it if it wasn't for him. What's it value? To me, it's priceless. Someone could offer me $1k+ and I'd turn it down without a second though(i've got a few pieces like that
). What's is it's worth? I assume $200ish? It's been a bit since i've seen it on the market. (I find that value is a more important factor, yes there's a big difference between value and worth and they aren't synonyms)
The best pieces aren't the ones worth a ton of money or are super rare. You know what's more rare and way better than a 1/12? One that came out of a friendship. When I look at my collection and have a crazy story about some fellow funatic. Those are the best, if I parted with my whole collection, I'd keep those. They are irreplaceable. It's no longer just a piece.
