I think it's funny they use Batman to test new ideas. He's they're guinea pig. (There's a new variant idea! )
As someone said on the first page, I think 8-bit doesn't translate well to 3D. Maybe if it were smaller.
I'm not a Batman collector so I won't be buying this anyway but it could be cooler in person. I like to see my pops irl to really judge them.

Re: Pop! 8-bit
I only own one item in the 8-bit style. I like the aesthetic of it to a point but not enough to collect an entire line of it.
I guess my biggest issue is that not everything looks good in this style. The characters that have a reason to look this way appeal more to me than just sticking any character in this style. Too many companies are doing this now and I do not really care much for it.
Now start getting some old school Nintendo characters like this....I may change my tune.

I can picture this being an item a lot of people pass on initially, then a year later are scrambling trying to buy one because they've become more popular. Maybe. Lol

I personally like and appreciate the idea of 8-bit figures. The future possibilities of this line are endless and I really can't wait to see where they take it. However, I really don't get all the hate on the web and social media over this 8-bit Batman. People saying its ugly or its a just a rip-off of another figure.

To be a true 8-bit Batman, it should have been purple and blue.

Re: Pop! 8-bit
I have to say I don't like the look of this. There's already an awesome 8-bit line out there in this scale that's doing great so far-Pixel Pals. They're doing classic 8-bit characters and other characters in that style/scale (Batman, SF, etc). and it just works the way they're doing it. As already stated, this is more Lego.
Obviously, I'm biased since I'm a designer on the Pixel Pals line.

not a fan but you would think this has to open the door to video game versions of Jason and Freddy now. the only good thing I can see coming from these.

Re: Pop! 8-bit
I think the 8 bit look could grow on a lot of us over time. I remember when I first saw Pops I thought they were ridiculous looking and said I'd never buy them. Then I saw them again a month later and thought they were kind of cool (especially the walking dead and GOT). Almost 5 years later and I've got over 1,000 of them
.

Re: Pop! 8-bit
Here's something else I was thiking about though - with amiibos they had an 8 bit mario, opposed to the regular mario that was made to look like the rest of the amiibo characters being released. I wonder what people thought of the 8 bit version when it was released and how well it did for Nintendo's sales. Hmmm...

I'm in for one if I can get my hands on it. They said it's going to be a whole line of them?
In that case, yeah, definitely video game ones needed, though I don't see them getting a Nintendo license ever, since Funko is a competitor to Nintendo's own figurine (amiibo) lines...

I'm not sure what to think of these yet. I will hopefully pick this up in New York and be able to make a decision off seeing him in person. I do know I will get certain characters though.

I'll most likely pick it up to display in my classroom. One of the projects I do in my computer class is a pixel art assignment in Google Sheets. Should be a fun piece to keep on my desk.

Hmm yeah, not sure about the comparison. The Pixel Pals still look 2D even though I realize it's thick enough to stand up. This is a full 360 figure in that style.
I personally like Funko's 8-bit version since it looks less 'blocky' as other styling have been. This seems only 8-bit on the edges and corners, which helps for those that may not love the pixelated look to begin with. Just my 2 cents..

Yeah, I'm sure it just comes down to personal preference. I've been doing pixel art for a few years and have never liked the idea of recreating 2D designs in 3D. To me, it loses the aesthetics of what pixel art should be.

I am a Batman collector, but I don't think this will find its way into my collection. Just not feeling it whatsoever. Maybe seeing it in person will change my kind, but as for now I'll spend my money on something else.

I will definitely have to pick up the Batman. I like the idea and I am interested to see how it looks in person. I always try to give one shot to each new Funko line and I have a feeling I am going to fall in love with this one.

The longer I have to look at this the less I like it. Thought it was cool when it first came out but now not a fan. I dont want 8bit pops, they should have a separate line for 8bit as another style. Its like a style on a style and its getting rough.

This is going to be an interesting line. I'm curious what characters they will make as 8-bit. It would look weird if they made real life people in 8-bit Pops

I am a huge DC Collector. I really do not like the look of this Batman. I'll probably get it because I have all of the rest of the Batman pops. I think this style would be more appropriate with the games line to start with. Mega man would be super cool.
