Re: Darth Vader in Tie Fighter Pop! Deluxe
I understand the comments about the proportions looking odd, but I think a lot of that may be due to the head-on front view of the glam. The Tie Fighter is longer than it is wide, so I'm thinking that it may look more proportional "in person". We used to run across this a lot in my profession, straight-on elevations are not the best graphic representation of an object or building. It's why most people prefer computer renderings these days.
I'm curious to see if this is in a regular Pop box or a bigger box (6"?) The glam sure looks like a regular box, in which case this dude is small!

I agree with the glam proportions look odd, but I'll wait for in hand pictures to judge.

Target in mid-June? Funko hates me, releasing this while I'm on vacation! GAH! Here's hoping he releases on the later side of mid-June or my stores have plenty of stock for a while or there's a restock. Otherwise, I may need the help of some fellow Funatics for this one.

This is one I definitely want to add to my Star Wars collection, its great seeing old Funko pieces (wobblers) being revamped. Awesome for sure!

It's certainly bigger than a normal box. Look at the window on the side of the box. You are dead on about it being longer than it is wide and it looks like they did indeed make it that way. Still unsure about it though.

Agree with most of the comments here, on the one hand it's freaking awesome we get a Darth Vader - Advanced TIE Fighter combo, on the other, it looks a bit iffy. But regardless, will try to pick one up from Popcultcha, since a European release will probably take forever.

Oh yeah, now that you point it out that definitely does look like different box proportions. I'm guessing it'll be a sort-of 6" Pop like the Dr. Who Davros (which everyone calls a 6" Pop even though it's really a normal-sized Pop in a bigger box because he's seated in the Tardis).
Alleycat wrote:This is a must have for me to display next to the never produced wobbler.....
Oh man, I like that a LOT more than the wobbler that they did produce!
I have the x-wing and tie fighter wobblers, had originally planned on converting them to Pop Rides but guess I don't need to since it looks like Funko is doing it themselves

Vader with Tie Fighter is awesome! That would be sick if they gave the proto for this at Fundays.

I actually hope that the proportions really are as oddball as they look in the glam. I think it's part of what makes this piece so great

I've been quietly cracking up to myself imagining that this was a real live thing and maybe Vader put on some weight around his waste so this pop is just a depiction of him getting stuck while struggling to climb out of the tie fighter

JoshChaos wrote:Yeah, I want this. However, I went in my closest Target yesterday (which is over an hour away) and their Pop section was completely empty. They had a few commons over in the clearance aisle and a very few others scattered throughout toys, but their actual Funko section was completely empty of Pops.
Let's hope they are prepping for a major reset. Most of the DC area targets Funko sections have been pretty bare lately.

No, none of the Pop Deluxe figures are removable. I think it has to do with the licensing, basically it's the same reason they have to be bobble-heads (the SW "action figure" license belongs to someone else).

Yes! I've been waiting for this one for a while. I love how it resembles the wobbler, I wonder if they'll make a chase version too.

Re: Darth Vader in Tie Fighter Pop! Deluxe
Someone posted that it's $27.99 - That makes me think that it won't be as large as Rey (since her price point was higher) but it will still be fairly big since the proportion of it has to look even. I'm thinking it will be in a tall box, maybe not so wide? Hopefully it will be hitting the west coast soon so that we can see the actual pop!

I won't be sold until I see it in person, tho I'm sure I'll buy it regardless. I don't love the comical proportions, but I'm a sucker for all things SW pop related.
Interesting that it has the 40th anniversary sticker. I wonder what else they'll release with that one!

Re: Darth Vader in Tie Fighter Pop! Deluxe
Just so anyone is aware, this is a Pop Deluxe and Vader is not removable. It's a licensing deal for Lucasfilm. Pop ridez have a removable Pop figure but Pop Deluxe have a Pop figure that is attached and molded to the larger vehicle or companion and include a base for display. I just don't want anyone disappointed when they buy this and realize after, they cannot remove Vader from the Tie Fighter.
