What type of POP collector are you?

I would have to say #3 for certain. Sometimes they're in the box, sometimes they're out of the box. It's hard to resist not playing with them once in a while.

I really like the way they look when out of the box.. get to see all the detail that way and not to mention they take up less room...

but I have been keeping the boxes recently...

All out of the box, they would have trouble wandering around the house otherwise, but all the boxes have been safely stored of course.

All pops out of boxes on display shelves. All boxes folded flat and plastic inserts labeled and stored away in basement.

I have 2 areas where I keep mine displayed. Have one shelf that keeps all of them in their box, then another book shelf where I display some OOB. Right now the new avengers line is being displayed.

#1 trying to get myself to become a #3, thinking about taking some out of box and building a nice display, and then rotating them out from time to time... Tough decisions but I do like the fact that the boxes are not sealed so if your careful , taking them out the box shouldn't hurt it too much.

Mine are currently all in their boxes as i don't have any shelves to display them on yet, and they stack so well on top of one another.

i eventually plan on either displaying them in front of their sideways box on a bookshelf, or slowly getting some cases similar to the baseball bat display cases i've seen on here.

They look neater and display better left in the box, but it's really about the thing inside. It's difficult to appreciate the Pop as a whole if you never take them out.

I'll keep exclusive boxes in case I have to sell (which has only been the case once so phew) Otherwise I ditch the box at the store. A bunch of my POPs are also carried around in my usual bag for photo ops that often get them placed in dirt, rain, drinks and all manner of places. I cycle through who I carry around but usually have a Jason Voorhees POP or mini with me. Otherwise they're on the shelf, bedside table, bookshelf, desk, floor, trombone case, television.... Also, I might require another shelf lol

You literally described exactly how I collect haha.

As of right now, my living space is too small for how I want to properly display them, but I do have them separated in particular ways. I have all of my "villains" on one shelf (considering I started my Pop collection by collecting villains, this is my biggest display), all of my Breaking Bad characters on another, all of my "monsters" and "monster fighters" (characters from Walking Dead, Ash from Evil Dead, and even Max from Wild Things) on another, and then a smaller shelf for the "rag tags", like Iron Giant and Silver Surfer, who don't really belong to a particular group (yet).

My Back to the Future Pops aren't included on my Pop shelf; instead, they're on my Back to the Future table, with all of my other BttF memorabilia.

I'm sure exactly zero of you care about my Pop set-up haha.

I'm stuck between #2 and #3 I think. Most are in the boxes, some on display, and the hard to find, rarer pops I have in a protector. Still keep the boxes in the closet or a drawer somewhere for the OOB ones though.

Guess i'm a #4 out of box, but I do keep all the boxes safely boxed.....like to display movie pops in front of box though as they usually have a nice logo/art on the back. Just think they look better out of box and like to pick em up occasionally in a fidgety kinda a way if you get my drift.

I would probably have to choose number 2. However I purchase two of each figure. One remains in its box the other migrates to a suitable location on the garden railway. :hiding:

I'm pretty much a #4. I save all of my boxes in giant tupperware boxes. I don't have enough space to display them in box if I wanted too, but I really like having them out of the box.

I keep all of mine in boxes and will buy protectors for it if I'm ever fortunate enough to find something really rare. I have also been buying Pops for my 6 year old and he, on the other hand, has no concept of keeping it in the box or even making any effort to even remotely preserve it. He doesn't get anything rare unless I can find more than one.

I'm pretty much #4. My collection is still small enough (only 12 at the moment) where I have enough room to display them in front of their boxes. I think I'll probably always display them in front of their boxes unless I decide to start setting up scenes and stuff on the shelves. In that case I don't know what I'll do with the boxes.

I haven't yet gotten any protectors, but since 3 of my boxes are signed, I think it would be a good idea to at least get protectors for those in the near future.

I guess I’m betweeen #1 and #2 All Of our pops are in boxes and every single pop is in a protector. The ones I mainly open are my HP set and a few Disney but mostly all my pops haven’t been opened.

1) All in boxes and NEVER opened, perhaps even in POP protectors

3) Some in box (probably exclusives) some out of box and on display

I like them In box. I am really big on box condition. Maybe a little too much. lol

.When it comes to Commons I open them up and place them in front of the box. Lately I just been selling off Exclusives and commons I don't need to get funds for the incoming waves of exlusives. This is my first time as a collector that I will be purcasing Con exclusives since I just started collecting last November.

I'm definitely a #4, though I keep every box, not just the exclusives, stored away, if I have the box. Sometimes I just buy them out of the box to begin with to save some money on the older Pops.

Exclusives, though, get stored in glass shelves. Common stuff gets to get dusty on the open shelves!

yeah, I get that a lot from other collectors. I opened a Martian "Mars Attack" in front of the seller after he said he kept it in box since he bought it back in 2012.
