Like most of the HBO shows it's all about character development so it does take a while and there are times the show moves "slow" because of the time spent on connecting you to a character.
I have found that for me HBO shows require your undivided attention to really get the most out of it. It's not one of those shows you can have in the background while you're multitasking. It's too hard to follow and too slow!
Coincidentally, I just got HBO NOW so am in episode 2 of season 5 and so far it's been awesome!

I need that TIE Pilot
. Looks the same in the pic but the chrome ones do look way better in person. The throne looks good as well, very unexpected.
I'm the collector Gotham deserves. (but also the one it needs right now)

Seems likely the throne will be available elsewhere, they spent all the money creating the mold and packaging, and its gonna have a ton of demand.

Are you able to reserve pieces in advance? Will the releases be staggered throughout the convention days or will they all be put out at once? If anyone knows from SDCC or something that would be great.

So, any chance of the alternate universe Fry and Leela being released individually later and way easier to get? I can always dream only because gold Bender was easy to get and the color variants aren't random. Yay, Cookie!

Oh, holy crap- that throne is amazing!!!
I definitely take back most of what I said in my last post about being disappointed. Still surprised by no Sherlock or Harry Potter, but that amazing throne makes up for a lot.
Great job, Funko!

That's a good thing. Well "good" in terms of less screaming and shoving and confusion on the show floor. The line to get passes to get in the purchase line still sucks.

As a VIP pass holder I can't figure out if this new procedure is to my benefit or not? Before, I'd have to hustle in and go line up at the Funko Booth. Now, I have to go (hustle?) and get in the line for tickets then go get in line at the booth. It seems I've doubled my "wait in line."

Does anyone know if they take cash, credit or both? I don't think it said in the post. I'm pretty sure fugitive only takes cash so I'm really hoping Funko takes cards at the booth as well!

The Funko booth will take cash, credit, or debit! Tax is already included.

Re: List of NYCC Exclusives
I don't see this as something worth complaining about. And if you want to be a total mensch, it's actually three lines. The line to get into the show, the line to get a line ticket, the line to buy your stuff. How come you guys never complain about the first line?
Before the internet, you got line tickets to get tickets to concerts. Other vendors at the cons do it too. Roll with it.
If you hit Hall 1c and they have no tickets left, you're free and clear to enjoy your day, no need to keep going back to the booth on the off chance they open the line. If you get a ticket, and what you want isn't highly sought after, you pop in when the line is short or towards the end of the day and spend the rest of the time wandering. Booth workers, if they have time to talk to you, will be able to give you an idea of what is selling out quickly and you can plan accordingly.
Go to the show, get some autographs and have fun. If you miss out, there's always ebay.

Just an FYI on the Iron Throne Pop..it's a Hot Topic exclusive. No other retailers are going to have this so if you don't get it at NYCC that's your alternative.

I don't disagree with anything you said & I think that attitude is a healthy one to take. My thing is I'm local to NY and you win some you lose some, but I would honestly feel kinda disappointed for the guy who came from out of town and spent money to come to NY and attend and couldn't get in the line for lack of that ticket. I think it's something of an unnecessary thing and I saw it happen at SDCC for Hasbro and even they recognized the flaw of it and stopped making people wait for those tickets by the second day. I get the reasons why a company might do it, but it doesn't make it easier for the attendees. Not complaining but I've never observed this type of thing working efficiently yet. Toy Tokyo does it as well all year round and the practice is something I've always been a bit weary of.

Re: List of NYCC Exclusives
Unfortunately this is the system, you cant please everyone! The biggest complaint was related to exhibitors getting in line first correct, well this remediates that issue! Now you have a better shot at getting what you want, there will still be issues at the booth since there will be lots of people who have not been informed how the sales will work.

Down here in van-demons land :P six inches normally start at $40-$50 depending on if its popular so paying $30 for an exclusives aint that bad

As a long-term SDCC attendee, I couldn't disagree with you more. Yes, it sucks that the SDCC camp-out culture has infected the ticket lines, making them unbearably long (thank you Twilight!), but it's still far superior to what came before. Prior to the fastpass system, you had people hovering around the Mattel and Hasbro for hours and staff yelling at you to come back later, only to experience a mad stampede of pushing and shoving when the line opens up, mere seconds after you decide to listen to security and leave the area. Followed by a bunch of screaming back and forth between attendees and security about how unfair it was to open the line right after they told you to leave. Followed by people defiantly refusing to leave because they don't want to be screwed over when the lines open again. This year, if you tried to get in line for the pins at the Marvel booth on the first two days or tried to get in line for the Bryan Fuller signing at the Funko booth, this is exactly what you would have experienced.
Is the system perfect? Nope. Is it superior to the free for all approach? Heck yeah. Because as much as it sucks not being able to get your exclusives because you couldn't get the pass, it sucks even more to hang out at the booth all day, get shoved, get yelled at, and still not get the exclusives. At least this way, you know not to waste your time all day and can do something else.
I also have to add that the side effect of the more efficient lines under the pass system is that they tend to clear out the booth sooner, so even if you don't have a pass, you can walk-in to the booth at the end of the day and have an opportunity to buy what you want if it's still available.
Also, I want to again blame Twilight for the long con lines.

Re: List of NYCC Exclusives
The "walk-in to the booth at the end of the day and have an opportunity to buy what you want if it's still available" is where the problem lies. Because of the limited number of some items - only 75 per day in some cases, you have to get there early if you want them all. Basically, all they did was move the line away from their booth. There is still a line - it's just now at Hall 1C. Inadditiona to that line, you now have a mad dash to the booth to get there early enough to get what you want - and that is more dangerous than just waiting on line at their booth.

Prediction - this is exactly what's going to happen. What works in San Diego may not necessarily work here. The way Javitts is set up people are going to be grabbing the tickets and running down to the sublevel where the booths are to grab a spot in the line...the SECOND line they've waited on for the day. Again, I completely get it as to why it's being done, I just don't see it as anything other than a second line. It will not eliminate the discomfort for the attendees and there will still be stampedes and people getting yelled at...probably worse because they're having to get into a second line to actually purchase.
@Chase: There's no perfect system & please understand I'm NOT complaining, it is what it is and I can roll with it...but I'm USED to the mad dashes etc...not waiting in TWO lines.

Agreed - I've been to NYCC ever year since it started (yes, even the first one where the FDNY was called and ticket holders were turned away), and a few SW celebrations, and I know that i'll be standing in long lines and that me feet will we killing me at the end of the day. It's an unfortunate part of the Con experience. What is not, and should not have to be, is standing in a line, just to run to a booth and stand on another line. In the past, I've gone to a hall to get a ticket for an item that was only avaialable for purchase back at the booth later on, but I knew I'd get it. Same thing with the Stan Lee Pop last year - go to the booth at opening for your ticket, come back after 2 to pick up your figure - but you know it would be there, and it was the same figure whether you picked it up at 2 or 5 or 7. That strategy doesn't necessarily work here, when there are product offerings that are more limited than others, and a sense of "if you don;t get there first, you won't get what you want". All is does is create a panic and a rush, and all that is unnecessary. Might as well just line up at the booth, because that's where we're all going to wind up anyway.

The tickets are timestamped, so I'm not sure who is making a mad dash except for the first round of folk. As I recall, Hasbro starts a little after the con opens to discourage people from rushing the booth when it opens.

"As a VIP pass holder I can't figure out if this new procedure is to my benefit or not? Before, I'd have to hustle in and go line up at the Funko Booth. Now, I have to go (hustle?) and get in the line for tickets then go get in line at the booth. It seems I've doubled my "wait in line."
... I sort of feel it is because of the context and the fact that I believe I was the only comment to that point that could be construed as "complaining" about the procedures. So my apology if I'm off on that and maybe this was a "general" comment ... but especially now that we've had a few other members sort of validate my "thought" on the procedure. And that is an important distinction because I was never complaining but was deciding as VIP ticket holder if this new procedure was in my better interest/advantageous to me or not. So I appreciate the other members offering their views on it. It seems we've got a mixed review on it so it's clear we really don't/won't know until it goes into live play.
Now what's indisputable is there will now be 2 lines to wait in vs 1 for the Funko items. (While I understand there is a line to get in, not everyone is in that line for Funko! So I think we need to stick with the Funko only issues.)
Do we know this? Tickets with specific times? That's a game changer and different. I believe we're under the impression the ticket you'd get would be more generic like ... after 10 am. If it has specific times, then my mind set changes on this. That to me is more like 1.5 lines, actually like 1.2 lines! 1 line to get the ticket and .2 of a line once you go at your allotted time. As I assume they'll only have so many people per time. Can anyone confirm? Yoko? Anyone? Anyone?Chase Variant wrote:"The tickets are timestamped, so I'm not sure who is making a mad dash except for the first round of folk. As I recall, Hasbro starts a little after the con opens to discourage people from rushing the booth when it opens.
