Who else thinks there should be Studio Ghibli pop!s?

That's like a display piece in the corner of the living room sort of thing. If that's not how you're gonna display something like that. I don't know how you're gonna do it. With that being said, I have no idea how people display their 10" Hulk...

I was just gonna post this, I would love a POP ride of the castle. Bowls moving castle is probably one of my favorite movies out of all of them.

Disney does not own Studio Ghibli. They once had an exclusive distribution agreement for the movies in the U.S., but they do not own the studio, never have and no longer have those rights.

They still have the rights to The Wind Rises, but now GKIDS has the rights to everything else.

Like 2 years ago, there were images floating around from somebody on the design team or something with a bunch of Ghibli characters and they looked fantastic. I'd love some Ghibli Pops but I'd be surprised if they ever get that big of a license, unless Pops get massively popular in Japan or something. They don't even want to give the movies digital copies and stuff since Miyazaki thinks people should only see movies in theaters (I'm paraphrasing but yeah).

Studio Ghilbli pops would be awesome but the studio is very picky and they want to approve everything which is why it takes so long to make projects with them happen. Last summer Japan LA had a Studio Ghibli popup shop but that took two years to make happen and main event was only one weekend.

Only reason Totoro was in Toy Story 3 was because Hayao Miyazaki did it as a favor for John Lasseter but it was only for the movie. Disney and Pixar don't have rights to make Totoro merchandise.

GHibli characters are perfect to be made into Pops. I think they would be hard to keep on shelves. And the flocked Catbus and Flocked Totoro are just beautiful to imagine. Ponyo, Howl's moving Castle, Kiki's Delivery Service, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away...and the list goes on and on. I think it's possible. Tough, but,.. Ill never give up hope.
