Also, I may have to snag a couple of these, especially Gargamel and Azrael.

That maybe it. I remember they had that on the cartoon where Lazy Smurf got bitten from that fly. So that Smurf could be then Lazy Smurf.

I had a lot of the little Smurf toys as a kid in the 80s, but I'd rather see those come back than Pops. But with another Smurf movie coming out, it makes me think these are to promote the new craptastic live action movie? If not, then commit and do all the original Smurfs. And Gargamel should be a 6". Fail if it's not (which based on the price, it doesn't appear to be).

I just hope they do the Smurfs right! Don't get creative with them and try and change the look. They have a specific look and bring that in to the pop style and they will be awesome!

Given the inclusion of Astro Smurf and GNAP! (Purple) Smurf, these seem to be based on the Peyo Comics/NBC Cartoon.

I'll get Papa Smurf, I loved the show as a kid, but I won't want a bunch of the Pops, however I will need at least one to rep my childhood, so Papa it will be, if he looks good! :D

A GNAP Smurf chase?! That'd be interesting. I like the ideas of minis too — they just feel right slash more connected to my childhood (because clearly these need to be based on the cartoons, not the movies)

Odd they'd pick 2 obscure ones instead of the mainstream/regulars. At least start with Papa, Smurfette, Brainy, Handy, Vanity, Grouchy, Jokey, Chef, Azrael and Gargamel. Otherwise, doing obscure ones first--if they don't sell well and they bail on the series, you're stuck without having the main characters.

It's like with South Park where they started with Zombie Kenny, a weird Cartman, and Mysterion? Whuh?

Edit: Fixed Grumpy to Grouchy...oops.

I was thinking they picked them because the would be in the upcoming movie, but maybe not?

I wouldn't consider them obscure. Those were pretty prominent comics/memorable season one episodes. Obscure is like... Editor Smurf.

I'd never even heard of Gnap Smurf, and non-recurring characters I wouldn't call regulars either.

Well unless you call the GNAP! smurf Lazy Smurf since he was the first one that was bitten by the fly that turn him into the purple Smurf, There isn't any I want. There was really only 4 Smurfs that I had like Lazy,Jokey,Heavty,& Grocery Smurf.

In the comics, Astro Smurf was just a random Smurf, but in the cartoons he was Dreamy, who was a regular. And how have you not heard about GNAP! Smurf?

So, am I the only one who would want these or are there other Smurf lovers out there?

I want them badly!!!!!!!!!

I think this will be a difficult series to collect since there's a lot of smurfs.
