The way I read it was that he WASN'T going to get it. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm in the "I'm buying it but not happy about it" group.

I... like the idea of it. I just wish they would have at least used a custom head. Body is a lot to ask for, but a slightly different hairstyle shouldn't be a huge financial drain.

Like with Tony Stark. Just a small amount of actual modeling work goes a long way. I just want new pops that couldn't be created by a 7 year old putting the head of one figure on another one and coloring in the hair with a marker.

Now I'm confused.

It sounds like you're saying that Tony Stark is an example of how just a small amount of actual modeling work goes a long way. That Tony Stark is the epitome of how to make exclusives that couldn't be created by a 7 year old putting the head of one figure on another one and coloring in the hair with a marker.

But isn't Tony Stark just Iron Man's body and Superboy's head with a beard painted on?

That is EXACTLY what the Tony Stark figure is. No modeling, just a headswap with a beard.

Has anyone heard anything else about this or the Stan Lee exclusive? For example, how many one person can get at the booths,or if they are going to sell them online?

I called them the day before the sale of the last one and they said 2 per person at the con and they will be holding some back for sale after!

My apologies if this has been addressed in another thread, but why don't most of the exclusives have the number produced on them anymore? If there are only 1,000 of each Stan Lee, why not have that on the sticker? How many unmasked Peter Parkers are there supposed to be?

My guess would be so they can produce more if the demand is there.

I believe it's to make every one jump on it right when it's released! If the seller tells you it's 1/2000 you'll probably say, oh I can wait on this because they'll have this for awhlie. IT wont sell out as fast. If you don't know the limit you'll want to jump on it because you don't know when they'll sell out!

That makes sense, but in the case of the Stan Lees, I'd say they're pretty awesome and 1,000 is just about the right number to produce. I would hope they don't release more of a con exclusive at a later date, so in that case is think you'd want to add validity to the production claim by putting it on the box. I know people will buy it anyway, but I think putting an edition size makes it more believable, even if it isn't always accurate.

So an email I got from Hot Topic had a blurb about Comikaze and their HT Peter Parker exclusive only available at Comikaze... What are the chances these could show up at HT like the SDCC Rick Grimes or Jake? Was there any listed production size?

I may be wrong, but I really don't see people getting excited about Sheldon in a Spidey costume, I mean Peter Parker. If they only show up at Comikaze then it would be a low edition size.

I think it would be sad for people to wait on line for days at Comikaze and then show up at Hot Topic.

Other con "exclusives" have shown up at hot topic lately. I think they'll be in stores or online after the con, but that's just my personal opinion.

The only "con' exclusives that I know of that have shown up at Hot Topic is SDCC and those are Funko exclusives. These other exclusives you are talking about are highly unlikely to show up at Hot Topic since Funko wouldn't be the one to be sending them, IMO.

It doesn't matter to me. I was just thinking that I would rather not wait on line at a con if I had the choice at getting it at a Hot Topic.

The only thing that makes me think this could end up shipped out is even though it is Comikaze Expo Exclusive it is being sold at the Hot Topic booth. Now I am by far not a con expert so someone correct me if I am mistaken but that would mean it is Hot Topic's exclusive right? I know when Fugitive Toys or Harrison's or anything is selling a exclusive it is at their booth right?

Sorry I should have been more specific. I meant other funko con exclusives. I agree with you it would be horrible for people to stand in huge lines and then a week later be able to buy it online for a little less. Anyways that's how it goes lol

Have a good time everyone!

promotion emails from hot topic have been including an ad for comikaze (presented by hot topic). in those ads, the peter parker exclusive is listed as "hot topic exclusive, available only at comikaze."

but there are two ways to think about this... on one hand, they specifically say "available only at comikaze" which seems to imply that this is it, folks. however, if the figure does not sell out or there's another shipment mistake (hi toy tokyo!) then this is still considered to be a "hot topic exclusive." they clearly won't sit on the additional product, so where do you think we'd see extras show up? either online or in stores.

i'm *guessing* this won't be so "comikaze exclusive" after all.
